This looks like game 1 of the 2001 series
4/15/2009 8:55:20 PM
eh, I don't feel like they're a more talented team though. In 2001 I was just so happy we won 2 games. I'm expecting us to win the series.
4/15/2009 8:58:36 PM
kinda glad I couldnt get this streamed now.... I hope this doesn't "set the tone" for the rest of our matches
4/15/2009 9:08:59 PM
13 shots...in 2 periods.
4/15/2009 9:16:22 PM

NOW AND LATER IF YOU WANT TO QUOTE A CANDY
4/15/2009 9:37:42 PM
Canes better bring it in game 2.They've been out-hustled the whole game. Jersey got more shots, more loose pucks, and simply defended better in front of Marty. The Canes' puck control was absolutely terrible.
4/15/2009 9:49:43 PM
Zach Attack!
4/16/2009 12:06:46 AM
yah the Canes got owned in that game, but there's plenty of hockey leftCanes need to be more physical, get pucks in deep, and let corvo and babchuck take some rippin shots from the point
4/16/2009 3:20:37 AM
ugly game last night. couldn't get anything set up.Friday better be different, or it'll be a really short return to the playoffs for us
4/16/2009 9:37:42 AM
LaRose: "We're just excited to be back"The Devils were serious in their practice Tuesday, and we were lighthearted. I guess we found out which one is the better approach. We played like a team that was just happy to be there, and New Jersey played like a team that wants more.
4/16/2009 9:52:23 AM
Question for Sunday. RBC Center says on its site that the lots open at 230, does it open any earlier or thats the earliest we can get in? Thanks.
4/16/2009 10:06:55 AM
i am stoked, again, that i get all these free hurricanes tix and parking from my company, yet, do not ever have to go to the game. so, does that technically not make it a sell out if i shred the tickets?
4/16/2009 1:47:27 PM
No, it just makes you an idiot for not flipping them.
4/16/2009 1:52:35 PM
So let it be known that on this, the 16th of April in the year of our Lord 2009, maximus has once again risen from the grave to troll The Wolf Web for a 14 day period upon whence his team will be eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs and he will return to the foul regions from which he came
4/16/2009 1:52:44 PM
^^^ And no it wouldn't disqualify the sellout, the tickets were already purchased. You would just be the idiot that shredded them for whatever reason.
4/16/2009 1:54:44 PM
nope, i'm not going to comment on the games or any of the players. just the fact that I have great tickets for free and you do not
4/16/2009 1:54:45 PM
^^n00bage ftl
4/16/2009 1:55:22 PM
I actually have pretty great tickets for free, but I will be using them to catch another glimpse of a goalie who will never come close to Patrick Roy's playoff success get bounced once again by a kid from Red Deer.
4/16/2009 2:01:57 PM
^heyy i thought you were done with this team and were gonna send your playoff envelope back after JR made the idiot move of bringing back cole.jk, just giving you a hard time. i couldn't believe that move happened when i heard, and i'd never would have imagined the immediate impact he would've had on the team.
4/16/2009 4:10:01 PM
I didn't expect the effect that Cole's return would have on Staal; Cole looked like his regular old separate-himself-from-the-puck-for-no-reason-while-weakly-attempting-his-one-and-only-move self last night.Anyway, I didn't get tickets, but puck_it did and is out of town this week. ]

Just got back from Newark and despite the dismal loss, the roadtrip was a lot of fun. The Rock is a really nice place to take in a game but I must admit that I was severely disappointed in the Devils fans. There was the requisite amount of heckling thrown our way, but aside from a few flashes of absolute hilarity, most of it was just sad (luckily the two guys behind us were funny as hell and didnt punch us in the face). I've often thought that it really sucks at times in the RBC center when the crowd isnt very loud, it doesnt compare to the Rock. The crowd was not loud at all, especially when their team was scoring with relative ease. One kind fan made a spectacle of us not standing up and cheering at one point until we pointed out that neither were half of the Devils fans.... and they had just scored. We may be accused of having 'uninformed' or 'fair weather' fans but this is clearly not limited to us. Upon walking in the arena, the first person to give me shit later admitted that it was his first game since he was five years old. I was also told on two separate occasions that 'one day, you will have a championship banner hanging in your rafters.' All in all though, it was a great trip and I really wish that i was able to stick around for game two as well. Despite catching hell, more than a few people came up to tell us that they were impressed that we made the trip up. Luckily there was a guy wearing a rangers jersey in our section to deflect much of the hecklong.
4/16/2009 11:50:41 PM
didn't fans in the RBC break indoor decibel records a few years ago or something
4/16/2009 11:53:35 PM
yes, i believe that they did. but have you ever noticed how quiet it can get during slow points during some games? It was like that large parts of yesterday's game, the biggest difference being that this is the playoffs.
4/17/2009 12:03:16 AM
My hat (if I had one) is off to you, sir, for braving the wilds of New Jersey just to be subjected to the fans. I am a huge Devils fan and even I don't think I could abide the crowds at the Rock. But then again I'd be grumpy too if I lived in a toxic wasteland.
4/17/2009 12:16:36 AM
Did they show Kevin Smith on the big screen at the rock? he said he bought a box.
4/17/2009 1:00:02 AM
He's actually done intermission commentary before. While I admire his adoration and enthusiasm for the Devils he should certainly stick to making movies.
4/17/2009 1:03:48 AM
for some reason I am very optimistic about tonight
4/17/2009 8:38:26 AM
As someone on LGC said, "PISS AND VINEGAR TONIGHT".
4/17/2009 8:51:42 AM
^^ Yeah. Wednesday night didn't really bother me because everything that went wrong is easy to fix. If Cam had played poorly or we tied up sticks and covered guys and still got beat, I'd be a little concerned, but it was just a sloppy game.
4/17/2009 8:58:50 AM
4/17/2009 1:34:17 PM
meh. at least I can record them in HD and they will be in HD if something FUN happens in either game.
4/17/2009 3:42:26 PM

4/17/2009 3:49:08 PM

4/17/2009 4:31:55 PM
