Do i really want the prestige edition? The NVGs are a cool add, but i mean come on...its 100 more than the game itself. The hardened edition is almost useless (to me). So its either basic or prestige.

just fyi, the PC release has been delayed until 2 weeks after the console release. It's also going to cost $60, instead of the usual $50 for PC games. All in the name of combating piracy, when in reality, it's just going to drive more people to pirate the game

thanks for that FYI, that majorly sux tho. the multiplayer portion will still require legitimate serial keys right? so for anyone who pirates the game, wont the MP (which to me is the driving force of the game) be useless?

^^If I recall correctly, MW1 was actually so heavily pirated that at any given time there were nearly as many pirate/rip servers up as there were legit servers (the problem was that most if not all of the rip servers were unprotected, so I expect they often filled up with a bunch of aimbotters).

I don't remember if people had to download a specific rip that allowed them to search MP servers without a key, or something -- in fact I've completely forgotten how MW1 managed its multiplayer keys and server connection at all... but I'm fairly certain that there was a big community of multiplayer pirates.

my WaW K : D has really taken a hit the past few days. I'm nearing 1.2 because i downloaded both map packs and just went into them with a blaze of glory without knowing any hiding spots or trends. I've finally caught up with most of them including a 19:7 run on the Battery last night.

then MW1 was the first COD i'd ever played MP on, so my K : D was in a hole before it even started.

Playing normally on the first Modern Warfare, I'd reason I was a solid 1.7-1.8, perhaps even approaching 2.0 in my prime

Problem was, at least once a week, I'd get real fucked up and come home like "Call of Duty time !" and go like 4-19 every round, completely fucking my ratios

They need to have a casual mode or something where your ratio isn't effected when you play wasted or want to let your friends play

I have scheduled 2 days off of work for this game (dont know if I mentioned it earlier in the thread). My wife will be waiting in line with me (she hates this crap, but loves me) at Crab tree to get the game.

I topped out around being ranked number 200 in the world in Free For All in WAW, and want to try to be in the top 50 for a while. I should be able to get my KD closer to 3:1 this time around. I pity the fools that play me

Jeepin, yes I do. Im not very sharp at the moment. I stopped playing the game when I got a ranking of 200 and was in the top 6000 overall for kills. Put the game down for 2 months, and came back very rusty. Was still winning consistently, but I was having a harder time winning against top 100 opponents than I use to (I stalk them to improve my play).

My XBOX RROD for the second time last week, so its off for repair.

as far as the MP...you should be fine. The guns will get taking used to but WaW was built on MW's engine so it will be familiar to you.

to everyone buying the prestige version for the nvg, I probably could make you better night vision goggles using toilet paper rolls and some seasonal green plastic rap. seriously though, the only package worth paying for is the MW2 360 since it has the huge harddrive. I have 120gb and still have room after installing the games I play

do you have a blu-ray player already? If you aren't much of a gamer, but want to experience all the benefits of HD then the ps3 is probably more beneficial in the long term. Gaming machine, Blu-Ray player, media server.

X-box has it's pros too, like netflix online.

Eh, if you are looking for an RTS type game, consoles have a few decent offerings much not much. Xbox has Halo Wars and Civ revolution, but I don't know about the PS3.

If you aren't much of a gamer, I'd agree with ^. It's a Blu-Ray as well, so that's definitely beneficial.

I'm probably the biggest Age of Empires play here, but even I know that trying to play an RTS on consoles is a fool's errand

Yeah, the basic movements and attacks work, but I like the in depth shit that only a mouse and keyboard can provide

I want to have my villagers kill that deer, I want my trebuchets to bombard that guard tower, and I want my phalanx of soldiers to march in that particular order

If you just like the surface level aspects of RTS, consoles may be fine, but if you like to micromanage at all, you'll get frustrated hella quick

^not necessarily true. There are several RTS's on console that do the job right. I'm the biggest PC RTS fan and i have found that games like End War, Command and conquer, etc have done the job very well. in some instances its faster on the console once you get the controls down.
