not a whole lot of interesting bowl games this year
12/1/2008 10:03:48 AM
I would go to Detroit
12/1/2008 10:10:50 AM
my list of places to go in orderCharlotte(due to its easy location and date)DC(nice place to go that time of year)Shreveport(because I like that state)anywhere else other than Detroit.

I would love the Motor City bowl the bestNC STATE vs (13-0) BALL STATE
12/1/2008 1:04:56 PM
We could definitely beat Ball State, Navy, or any of these teams we are getting matched up against.
12/1/2008 1:08:13 PM
As much as I would love for us to beat Ball State, I'm not sure we could. While I have been amazed and incredibly entertained watching Russel Wilson lead us the past few weeks I don't know if we could keep up with Ball State.

12/1/2008 1:11:15 PM
they must have changed it since I looked it up this morning.because it had some other team there instead of us....even control-f'd State
12/1/2008 1:16:41 PM
Nate Davis and Russell Wilson play a pretty similar game, it'd be fun to see them duke it out.
12/1/2008 1:18:24 PM
word is that Charlotte is really licking its chops at having us again and trying to figure out a way to get it done.
12/1/2008 1:24:17 PM
ya i control f'd state as well, had to be updated todayas far as interesting games and whats best for the program i would think a win over ball state would mean more than a win over navy, im pulling for the motor city bowl even though that means id have no chance of going
12/1/2008 1:27:53 PM
12/1/2008 1:32:42 PM
I want to play Ball State. Ruining a perfect season, assuming they win the MAC championship game, would be a great way to finish up.
12/1/2008 1:35:40 PM
12/1/2008 1:37:18 PM
Screw Ball State, lets go to DC!
12/1/2008 1:52:56 PM
ball state would be fun, but i'm sure as shit not going to detroit on christmas.cman DC.
12/1/2008 1:59:27 PM
11 hour drive, man up people.

I hear the Gator Bowl wants us back. In Chuck We Trust.
12/1/2008 2:06:56 PM
There's a NW Airline hub in Detroit, so you can get flights from Raleigh relatively cheap. Still, Charlotte would be much more convenient.
12/1/2008 2:10:02 PM
I hear the Orange Bowl is licking its chops and trying to get us in there

Let's just drop down to 1-AA and play in the Big South
12/1/2008 2:14:29 PM
I believe that 6-6 teams should not get to play in a bowl.A bowl game should be a reward for having a winning season. Our season should not be deemed a success. We were mediocre at best.
12/1/2008 2:32:17 PM
^ COMPLETELY disagree...At the beginning of the year, terrible...At the end of the year, one of the hottest teams in the nation.... I bet we'd beat South Carolina by 2 touchdowns should we play them now.[Edited on December 1, 2008 at 2:33 PM. Reason : ^]
12/1/2008 2:33:19 PM
^ haven't u watched the last 4 games we played versus the rest of the conferences last 4?We are playing better than anyone else in the ACC right now. The best ACC records are 5-3 while ours is 4-4....c'mon....
12/1/2008 2:33:36 PM
^^^What an idiot
12/1/2008 2:39:24 PM
unfortunately for you delusional fans4-4 in the ACC is very goodand I hate to be the one to you but a season is not based on what happened in the last 4 games.State was 2-6!!!! HAD to win their last 4 to get to mediocrity
12/1/2008 2:42:16 PM
Send NC State to the Rose Bowl!
12/1/2008 2:43:28 PM
If you don't know too much about college football, Bowl committees like teams that are hot and travel well. I'm pretty sure we qualify for both.

12/1/2008 3:12:27 PM
not to mention I am sure they look at why a team lost at first then came on strong in the end. We had a huge amount of injuries in the first part of the season which definitely cost us at least 1 game.
12/1/2008 3:36:00 PM
nah he's right, way too many teams get to play in bowls. we're 10th out of 12 in the acc and might get one. it's ridiculous.but it's the system, might as well abuse it.

^^had the NCAA not passed the 12 game minimum rule we would have had a winning record.... 4 conf wins, 2 nonconf (ecu and wandm) = 6-5... there would have been no sfla on the schedule (we used to only play 11 games)[Edited on December 1, 2008 at 4:14 PM. Reason : ]

^that article is so nondescriptive.... other than the title that they put to make you get to read... everyone ive talked to is confident we will land somewhere.... even if we dont get an acc tie bowl, we will be at the top of the 6-6 teams, that have anywhere from 2-5 slots open
12/1/2008 4:31:18 PM
Didn't see where anyone posted this yet...but gopack.com has a page of "possible bowl selections" http://www.gopack.com//ViewContent.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=9200&CONTENT_ID=5132&KEY=&DB_OEM_ID=9200&DB_LANG=&IN_SUBSCRIBER_CONTENT=They have:Emerald Bowl - San FranciscoHumanitarian Bowl - BoiseCar Car Bowl - CharlotteMusic City Bowl - NashvilleEaglebank Bowl - Washington DCI'd be fine with any of the last three, but San Francisco would be too far away and Boise would just be .
12/1/2008 4:32:36 PM
something just tells me they will find a way for us to be in charlotte
12/1/2008 4:34:22 PM
All signs point to Detroit
12/1/2008 4:42:54 PM
we are the ACC#10 teamthe ACC has 9 bowls, we are the #10 team because we are the only team that is 6-6A bowl must select a 7-5 team before selecting a 6-6 teamwith that said we would have to get an at-large bid which the Motor City Bowl has.
12/1/2008 4:47:57 PM
If the ACC works out a one year deal with an at-large bowl, or a bowl whose tie-ins aren't going to be able to fill their slot, then we could potentially end up in Charlotte/DC/San Fran/etcJust read the article JayBee posted above.[Edited on December 1, 2008 at 4:56 PM. Reason : didn't see JayBee had posted that.]
12/1/2008 4:53:33 PM
i'm pretty sure yall will end up somewhere. the only thing i'd be concerned with are the MAC and Sunbelt teams that will finish better than 6-6 for the other at large bids
12/1/2008 5:48:07 PM
I'm not going to fucking detroit.
