Finally, a tennessee-related topic that I give a shit about.

Well, as long as you say so. It must be true.UT is gonna give Davis a blank check (If they have a brain in their heads).
11/10/2008 9:12:11 AM
^^ I agree. He may leave in the future, but Im sure it will be after a few years of the program plateauing and possibly declining, or some negative press, etc. For example, someone fucking up, NCAA violations, etc. He is riding a wave right now. He surly wont give that up until the wave is over. Im sure Davis can clearly see BCS bowls in UNC's immediate future. Why would he skip town before he has the opportunity to cash in on them?
11/10/2008 11:52:10 AM
I can give you 10 million reasons over 5 years
11/10/2008 12:09:11 PM
^that's chump change in coaches' salaries nowaday.

Rebuilding an NFL team is much more lucrative than staying at the College level. Hell if anything coaching in the NFL is a resume booster. I can understand a coach leaving for the NFL.
11/10/2008 12:50:13 PM
BD is a good implication that rebuilding an NFL team also takes more than coralling talent
11/10/2008 1:09:57 PM
Colin Cowherd mentioned on his radio program today that Bitch is UT's #1 choice. Cowherd said that Bitch would be better off staying with the tarholes though mainly because the ACC is shit and the SEC is beast. He also said Crapel Hill is one of the nicest towns in the US.
11/10/2008 1:46:35 PM
with 4+ million a year...I'm not sure it really matters where you are...
11/10/2008 1:53:43 PM
^^Yeah, if you're a college student. I don't think it has quite the same appeal for 50-year-olds.
11/10/2008 2:50:06 PM
^ Actually it does, especially with Carborro next door and some high end neighborhoods close by in Durham.
11/10/2008 5:15:52 PM
Shit's getting real. The newest inner nerd rumor is that UT has offered Butch SHEEPFUCKING Davis 50 million for 10 years.THis can't be real, right?
11/10/2008 6:45:04 PM
oh it can be.
11/10/2008 6:47:12 PM
i call horse shit until he is gone
11/10/2008 6:49:45 PM

if butch leaves unc, will they still give him a raise at the end of the season?
11/10/2008 6:55:55 PM
he'll have 8 wins this year so his buyout will be 600,000 more
11/10/2008 6:58:34 PM
Davis will have to pay back a large part of his salary if he leaves.
11/10/2008 7:06:10 PM
you mean tennessee will.

Davis knows his name has the potential to be on the addition to Kenan Stadium. Of course UNC will likely have to give him a raise, but after the success this season I dont think its unreasonable. In that statement from the article he obviously wants to further the program. Baddour does need to stop dragging his feet.Football has potential to raise some serious money as Kenan holds something like 70K people. Season tickets could see a small increase
11/10/2008 7:37:04 PM
I feel sorry for UNC. All those poor, newly-converted bandwagon basketball fans who are getting into football now won't have anyone else to watch. Also their 09 class will mostly jump ship...Can't blame butch though. Real football school. REAL FOOTBALL FANS (not fake-ass ESPN nation fans who like wearing fhaggut blue)
11/10/2008 7:38:06 PM
And after all this time I finally found a reasonable yet logical retort. My life is now complete.
11/10/2008 7:42:14 PM
^^^^ Agreed. Davis is grossly underpaid and this shit won't stop until he gets a more fitting contract. He wants to stay at UNC but Baddour and the Board must be willing to throw some money his way.[Edited on November 10, 2008 at 7:45 PM. Reason : ]

Why is everyone convinced Butch is such a great coach and that he'll certainly lead UNC to the promised land?Everyone is all on their shit because of this year, even though they have the easiest schedule in the ACC.
11/10/2008 7:49:02 PM
Lets also disregard last season when UNC had 50 people on the field who had never taken a college snap, and still managed to lose 6 of 8 games by a touchdown or less.
11/10/2008 7:55:34 PM
11/10/2008 7:57:45 PM
Yeah, I'm pretty sure we can all say Butch is a good coach. Not sure how that can be in question.

if he wants to do anything in football he will have to do what Brown did...and leave...ACC is crap in football, it will be a very very long time until the ACC has a national championship contender.
11/10/2008 10:03:16 PM
The ACC will be a very competitive conference if the SEC keeps recycling coaches, among other conferences who manage to sneak in to the top 10.

I don't think i've ever been to a city where football is bigger than in knoxville...Athens comes close, and i've never been to Green Bay.
11/11/2008 12:05:19 AM
If they expand kenan to 70k...they better start selling a lot more tickets to the other team's fans.
11/11/2008 11:43:32 PM
UNC has sold out tickets to every game in both seasons in the preseason while Davis has been there.
