i'm sure he is a great banjo player, but he is a horrible singer/songwriter, at least as far as lyrics go

so we arent allowed to say it sucks b/c it is part of a variety show??

btw, this is a good interview with Steve Martin where he talks about his early stand-up career in the 60s and 70s, and his banjo and musical background

I never once said that you weren't. In fact I thought it was lame, too.

But it seemed people were freakin' out like WTF WITH THE BANJO? When it really wasn't all that strange. I was simply clarifying that he's a banjo player.

I lost it when he ran into Seth with the rolling chair. I enjoyed that more than anything else. Also, can't go wrong with Macgruber.

Back to Steve Martin, I highly recommend his autobiography, Born Standing Up
http://www.amazon.com/Born-Standing-Up-Comics-Life/dp/1416553657/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1234147879&sr=8-1. He mentions a lot about his early stand up career and even further back to his first job, a magician's assistant at Disney World

edit: so is it a new stereotype for black people on snl to straight up read cue cards? scared straihgt thing, not only are morgan and keenan reading the cards, keenan is mouthing along to morgan's lines while morgan says them

Indeed. He basically did updates of all of his old skits/characters. The opening was different than anything I've seen SNL try before. Little disappointed that Tina Fey only appeared for a brief moment. Wish they would have let her do a part of update.

I liked the Digital Short.

I haven't seen Big Love, but the Bill Paxton impression was dead on. He had the voice down cold.

Best of Amy Poehler?

Is it me or is one of the most worn out ideas on here to have a female cast member play an annoying kid and bounce around the set for 5 minutes?
