yeah the fact that dole has pretty much been non-existent since she became senator is one big reason why I'm not voting for her, and she's slimy.
11/2/2008 6:10:26 AM
If Dole believes there is a god she should probably stop lying to get ahead.
11/2/2008 10:57:51 AM
I really don't have time to read this whole thread. Can someone just tell me in two sentences who to vote for and why?
11/2/2008 8:27:29 PM
Vote for Not Dole because:1) Dole never spends time in North Carolina except when desperate to win back her position of power.2) Dole is trying to win on religious fear-mongering and promoting of backwards ways of thinking.[Edited on November 2, 2008 at 8:31 PM. Reason : .]
11/2/2008 8:31:38 PM
^^ kay Hagan because Dole only spent 13 days in NC in 2006.[Edited on November 2, 2008 at 8:32 PM. Reason : ]

Ugh. I voted for Dole back in 2002 in spite of her faux southern accent because she was running against the Most Unappealing Politician on Earth -- bespectacled Clinton-appartchik douchebag Erskine Bowles. This one's tough. Kay Hagan is a stock N.C. liberal, copping whatever positions she read about in the New York Times last month. She doesn't seem to have Mike Easley's knack for down-home appeal. But she is a real North Carolinian, damn it -- even despite a brief defection to Florida. That has to be worth something.Six years is a long time to let Dole use the state as a political launching pad. I'd probably vote for Hagan if I still lived in N.C. It just sends the wrong message for the state's Senate seats to be a jumping off point for political careers -- especially after the Edwards fiasco. N.C. gotta represent (literally).

to being a completely vapid cunt.
11/3/2008 4:35:58 AM
ok, after the godless ad fiasco, i can't vote for Dole.Hagan it is, but i'm just choosing one rotten cunt over another.
11/3/2008 8:21:20 AM
the mere fact that anyone can vote for Dole at this point glaringly showcases that there are "people" in North Carolina who still live in the dark ages.
11/3/2008 8:59:46 AM
that is a very new and exciting stance.
11/3/2008 9:05:11 AM
granted. but maybe if it's said enough, it'll have a Pavlov's dog effect.
11/3/2008 9:09:10 AM
11/3/2008 9:12:04 AM
Holy shit. That Godless video was nuts. That's all I needed.
11/3/2008 10:36:07 AM
Yeah I was not excited about either choice, and was probably leaning Hagan beforehand, but this douchebaggery made it very easy to be comfortable with a Hagan vote.
11/3/2008 10:49:42 AM
Dole is actually getting sued b.c of that godless commercial
11/3/2008 4:27:50 PM
^She earned it, trying fake Hagan's voice & making the election about something that has nothing to do with the election. This is a future for NC that I wouldn't mind seeing, and that is long overdue.
11/3/2008 6:59:38 PM
I hope McCrory wins though....
11/3/2008 7:22:52 PM
i hope he doesn't b/c i think perdue for all her flaws is better on education, i have trouble getting behind an anti-gay rights pro-bush republican like mcrory, & i don't want nc's governor to be in political opposition to our new president... but thats about all the detail i'll go into here since this thread isn't really about the gov

I think some hard-core republicans would have voted Hitler as Chancellor in 1932 as long as promised to lower taxes and stop lazy people from getting welfare checks.
11/3/2008 8:16:12 PM
11/3/2008 11:03:48 PM
i think some hard core republicans are pretty awful & that nc really isn't serving its own best interest to vote for most of them, but i'm ready to move past either party comparing or saying the other side could or does support hitleri mean i'm all for a demeaning comparison, we just need some more originality

11/4/2008 1:00:44 AM
I am excited to vote against Elizabeth Dole.
11/4/2008 1:33:32 AM
^^NC has had worse. See: Edwards.
11/4/2008 2:30:40 AM
11/4/2008 2:34:30 AM
I hope Hagan wins, we are going need a Congress that will work with Obama, should he win, if we want his policy initiatives to be enacted.
11/4/2008 6:45:50 AM
I heard on the radio that Hagan plans to visit 7 polling sites today. Maybe this is typical, I don't know. I just don't think it's cool. I guess I was under the impression that there was some sort of ban on campaigning at polling sites. If you are running for an office you visit one polling site. The one you vote at.In the grand scheme of things this is pretty minor though. Just something I was surprised by this morning.
11/4/2008 7:20:12 AM
^ Nope that's standard. As long as they're standing in front of the sign that says "No campaigning beyond this point" it's kosher.
11/4/2008 7:26:08 AM
^Yep. Actually at my polling site, Josh Stein's father was out there handing out fliers trying to get people to vote for his son.
11/4/2008 7:27:25 AM
ill be keeping a close eye on this one. Dole's "godless" advertisement backfired. I didn't even know who she was until i read about that ad, and then I went out of my way to vote against her.
11/4/2008 5:58:08 PM
They just reported on MSNBC that a republican strategist in NC is already giving reasons why Dole lostShe also said something about an Obama Tsunami in NC
11/4/2008 6:56:48 PM
I met Brad Miller at the polling site.

11/4/2008 7:34:07 PM
Fox News just called it for Hagan!
11/4/2008 8:13:28 PM
How the fuck can you call it when there's 4% of precincts reporting?
11/4/2008 8:15:31 PM
the lesser of two evils is still evil!
11/4/2008 8:16:47 PM
Out of curiosity...is it possible for an incumbent (for example, Dole) be SO bad that their own party ousts them from the next election, essentially saying "You're not going to run on our ticket again, here's the new republican candidate" ?
11/4/2008 8:18:15 PM
^ they did it through a back door with Larry Craig....and didn't oust Stevens.
11/4/2008 8:26:33 PM
I know a ton of Republicans that voted for Hagan just because the Godless video offended them.
11/4/2008 8:27:27 PM
