terpball, i just think sometimes you're so defensive about any criticism towards any black person, almost taking it personally even when it has nothing to do with you personally, that your rebuttals often come across as more racist than the original criticismsmaybe you just don't want your race painted in a negative light based on the actions of a few, and therefore you are passionate about it...well nobody wants their entire race painted in a negative light, but maybe sometimes while being passionate yourself, you unknowingly make comments about other races that people think are racist

^ i don't want to sound like i'm defending terp, because I hate the guy (and all black people)but how can you say he doesn't respond to posts? there's 4 pages now of him responding to posts. IT's like people who say Obama only talks about change. Crazy.

^^^^ examples? I mean, usually I'm to busy defending racist attacks to even think about getting a racist shot in myself.^ you aren't worth responding to anymore. All you do now is talk about people sucking Obama's dick... and cupping his balls. Pretty gay.[Edited on April 28, 2008 at 4:47 PM. Reason : ]

4/28/2008 4:49:21 PM
well i'm paraphrasing here terp, but it goes something like this:a: obama is such a joke, and his pastor is crazyb: oh really? why?a: well his pastor is a racist, and obama associates with himb: maybe you'd be a racist too if you had to deal with a bunch of racist hicks all the timei dunno, maybe that fake example wasnt too flattering for you, but its that type of thing...it starts off as innocent, but for one reason or another (sometimes your fault, sometimes others), maybe miscommunication and misunderstanding, things end up worse than before]

I'm saddened that y'all have gotten terp on the defensive. Black guy: "Hey, y'all should stop being so racist."White reactionaries: "What? We're not racist. You're the racist. Why do you hate white people?"Black guy: "That's not true at all. Maybe it just seems that way online. I have plenty of white friends."

By far the biggest smokescreen of the election so far. There is no doubt in my mind that if Obama wins the dem nomination we will be hearing about this guy all the way up to the election. Thank you media and your complete disregard of the REAL ISSUES facing our country.I think it was important to bring up that this guy was Obama's pastor, The media proceeds to find the most intolerant things the guy has ever said and made sure to play them over and over and over, Obama said he didnt agree with those things.case closed. If we really want to help black people we should be talking about education and the economy.

Yeah, he served too - for at least 4 years. And the quote was taken out of context. Look at the context of McCain's "I hate the gooks" - it makes for one hell of a turnaround on how he really feels doesn't it?[Edited on April 28, 2008 at 5:19 PM. Reason : Wright - Jim Crow ---------- McCain - POW]
4/28/2008 5:18:27 PM
yeah but the main difference is, McCain isn't running for President of Vietnam...he didn't say "I hate the Americans"]
4/28/2008 5:23:43 PM
Jeremiah Wright isn't running for any office, but the office of Jesus![Edited on April 28, 2008 at 5:30 PM. Reason : ]

its a pretty significant difference when you're calling out a group of people from another country (even if he is ostracizing some asian-american voters), or when you're talking shit about the country in which you are running for president
4/28/2008 5:36:45 PM
^ Don't trivialize America's racist history.
4/28/2008 5:40:22 PM
They aren't comparable situations, and I couldn't say which one is worse... it seems like a pretty complex issue. I couldn't say that growing up being taught you're inferior and dealing with gross racism, etc... would be worse than the 5 years of the more harsh physical and mental abuse McCain took (or the other way around). I was merely saying there is not only verbal context, but also historical context to be taken into consideration here.ANDWright isn't running for president[Edited on April 28, 2008 at 5:42 PM. 4/28/2008 5:41:55 PM
Also, Wright didn't say he hated white people and always would.
4/28/2008 5:44:06 PM
my main point is that plenty of americans were offended by the "god damn america" comment...plentyjust because you may or may not care about that statement, that statement hurt obama by associationso while some of you say "well ok the aids comment was bad but thats it", i'm informing you that plenty of people arent too fond of the "god damn america" commentand i personally think that being locked up and tortured for 5 years straight is probably worse than a bunch of verbal abuse
4/28/2008 5:46:26 PM
What he said on the Bill Moyers show about Obama was such bullshit. He's just trying to extend his 15 minutes.
4/28/2008 6:01:20 PM
terpball do you like alan keys? my bet is that you don't.but if this campaign came down to obama vs keys who would you vote for
4/28/2008 6:20:58 PM
What kind of question is that?
4/28/2008 6:46:23 PM
haha yeah really...i had to reread it a few times
4/28/2008 7:11:09 PM
I like how Farrakans' body guards "protected" him today at the National Press Club. Black preachers are coming out in droves separating themselves from Wright, saying he doesn't speak for the black church, and that it's erroneous for him to say so like he did earlier today.
4/28/2008 7:14:27 PM
Farrakhan wants to separate himself from Wright? wow...when he wants to distance himself from you, you know you've said some shit
4/28/2008 7:15:31 PM
LOL no I meant that he and Farrakhan are embracing one another with their anti-American and anti-white rhetoric, while every other sane black pastor is running for the hills from this guy.I was watching Hardball and did Wright really compare our Marine Corp troops to the Roman Legionaires who crucified Jesus? And say that basically the American flag and Al Qaeda flag are one in the same? Do you have to listen to an hour of hate to know that you're hearing hate? In what context can any of that be spinned as being "part of the black religious fabric" or as us whiteys just not getting the full meaning of what Wright is saying?
4/28/2008 7:18:47 PM
^i haven't read what you guys have said, so maybe you have addressed this...but i would say that it's much more the racism of a past age that affects the plight of a black man than any sort of systematic racism that currently exists.

i made it really easy for everyone. watch the naacp speech and the msnbc/tucker carlson "summary". they take 5 seconds out of a speech of repeated thesis was one of acceptance and bettering of one's self to make it out to be a hate speech:http://tinyurl.com/5qmjau
4/28/2008 9:26:39 PM
so he's a politician now huh? wow.i honestly can't believe any obama supporter would want this guy going around pissing off 92% of america.just don't make sense.
4/28/2008 10:00:43 PM
he's expressly not a politician. but i wouldn't expect you to know that he has said that repeatedly, because you obviously would rather take other people's word for what wright says.and you would see too, that his message in that speech is very positive and unifying. it's the cable news that is parsing it to make it look like something that it is not. i have to give credit where credit is due though. i am impressed that foxnews showed the speech in its entirety.[Edited on April 28, 2008 at 10:17 PM. so where in that speech did he give a 'religious' sermon? all i heard was politics followed by.. "oh btw we do this in da name of jesus and we are pastors.. etc..."he's doing this for political reasons... and he is also hurting the campaign of obama.sad but true for obama too.
4/28/2008 10:22:43 PM
4/28/2008 10:23:25 PM
^^he's not a politician because he's not running for anything. he speaks as a pastor, but he also speaks as a person. but mostly in that video he speaks as a scholar (mostly of theology, but also of african-american culture)[Edited on April 28, 2008 at 10:36 PM. Reason : as]

moron you're a fucking liar. Helms never said the 1st quote and I watched the fucking interview on Larry King and he did not salute the screen so you need to find sources that are factually accurate. And since I will guarantee that you've never even seen the fucking interview, Helms goes on to state that he never used the N-word and went on to explain in depth how he used it once as a child and his father beat him for it. As I said, find accurate fucking sources before you spew bullshit.Considering that your own racism is blatant, you have little room to point at anyone. So maybe you should get back to the pig pin.Explain to me please...apparently your racial stereotyping of white people is fine, and you attempt to defend Wright's racism when the only ones standing by him are known for their blatant racism, and yet you can't come up with one instance of Helms being racist but even if he was, somehow he's the only one in the wrong, not you, not Wright. Hmmmm, I guess if he painted his face black and burned whitey in effigy you'd be leading the chorus of We Shall Overcome...[Edited on April 28, 2008 at 10:51 PM. Reason : ]

congratulations for simplifying a 30 minute speech into a snarky comment. did you miss the whole message of the speech or are you being willfully ignorant?

^fuck off troll
4/28/2008 10:58:54 PM
is that supposed to be a joke?
4/28/2008 11:04:39 PM
no, the only thing that's funny is your anger.why do i have to be ignorant...you are so blinded by your hate that you automatically thought that i didn't like the speech.what's funnier than your anger is not noticing that someone is finally willing to admit that there just may be fundamental differences in people based upon their culture and race after having the exact opposite pounded into they psychie of the American public for the better part of a half century.Wright may be onto a better way of dealing with race relations.Keep hating though sarifoool[Edited on April 28, 2008 at 11:22 PM. 4/28/2008 11:10:18 PM
the one i linked is 40 minutes with a good five or so minutes of introduction/thankyous.and since when is ignorant a perjorative? i was saying that either you missed the point, or you didn't want to cede the point. i'm not angry at you. msnbc and tucker carlson sure. but i am not trying to troll anyone, nor have i displayed any hate on here.
