God I hope so. With Johan in the NL East, we have got to have decent/steady pitching. Johan will win 20 - 25 games easily with the Mets.

Lost to the Dodgers today, rematch tomorrow on ESPN.

I wonder if Andruw has put on 20 more lbs of fat? The news about Hampton is good to hear, but we heard that same shit last year in Spring Training and he then he got hurt again.
2/29/2008 11:25:43 AM
welcome back javy
2/29/2008 1:49:27 PM
I hear ya Javy.I don't know who I prefer as a backup catcher. Brayan Pena or Javy Lopez?Gee, let me think.
2/29/2008 1:51:29 PM
I really have my doubts about Javy making the team as a 36 year old catcher who hasn't played in two years.
2/29/2008 1:56:58 PM
That was more of a statement of I don't really care for either.
2/29/2008 2:16:37 PM
Yeah, I know, I was just adding my two cents to the discussion of worthless backup catchers.

his roids are goin straight to his thighs
3/6/2008 5:24:53 PM
Hampton left in second with undisclosed injury.
3/7/2008 2:25:15 PM
seriously?
3/7/2008 2:29:27 PM
Something to do with his groin I think.
3/7/2008 2:41:54 PM
Strained right groin. They need to do to him what they do to injured race horses that no longer can perform. Take his ass out behind the barn and shoot him in the head to put it out of its misery.
3/7/2008 3:58:45 PM
mike hampton is the biggest fucking pussy on the face of the earth, and also probably the dumbest. does that faggot not stretch? ever? on second thought, i guess he might the smartest for getting paid millions to scratch his crotch every day while sitting on the bench
3/7/2008 4:31:23 PM
he's day to day but i am feeling like this is going to go on all season
3/7/2008 4:41:33 PM
calling Jair Jurrjens
3/7/2008 6:10:21 PM
plz to tradeeven if we can get a new batboy for him
3/8/2008 10:57:20 AM
3/12/2008 2:14:23 PM
I think he means Hampton.
3/12/2008 2:27:45 PM
I think he was talking about Hampton. Jurrjens has looked really good so far, I'd say he'll probably end up in the 4 spot with James/Reyes fighting for the fifth. I have no confidence that Hampton will actually make the rotation. Also, it looks like Javy might actually make 25 man roster as McCann's backup. Pena is reportedly being shopped.
3/12/2008 2:30:12 PM
Maybe they could turn Hampton into a good reliever/closer if he can stay somewhat healthy.
3/12/2008 2:31:40 PM
3/12/2008 2:35:03 PM
Well I thought it was obvious being a closer is a lot less than being a starter.
3/12/2008 2:40:07 PM
^ LOL my thoughts exactly. He can't go 4 innings every 5 days... what makes you think he'll be reliable to give you an inning every other night?
3/12/2008 2:40:13 PM
^^ maybe if you just want him to be a mop up long reliever it would work out. Get in there once every 6-8 days and give you some innings and nothing else. But if you really want him out of the pen it is even more stressful on your body than being a starter. The constant getting loose, warming up, cooling down, warming up, pitching in games 4-5 times a week... for a guy with constant injury problems that is a nightmare.I remember Billy Wagner said he threw over 90 pitches one night last year because the game was tied and he was warming up seemingly every inning... called it his first complete game ever.
3/12/2008 2:50:03 PM
Yeah, being a reliever is way easier on a guy whose body is shot. That's why John Smoltz is still closing games. The NCSUjew guy is a retard and he's spouting nonsense all over TWW.--

Javy decides to retire after being told he wouldn't be on the opening day roster.
3/22/2008 7:22:33 PM
Javy decides to retire after being told he needed to pass a steroids test.fixed it for ya
3/22/2008 7:26:34 PM
My Javy Lopez autograph value just went up!Probably sitting at about $15 if I find someone who still remembers who he was!
3/22/2008 8:35:01 PM
dude... anyone who doesn't remember Javy Lopez is 5 years old....
3/22/2008 8:46:37 PM
See ya Javy. You had the great contract walk year in the history of sports in 03.Reyes was sent down today after compiling ~10 Era in 4 spring starts. Since Hampton looks to be our #4, Jurrens pretty much has a lock on the #5. If Hampton gets hurt, I guess we'll go with a 4 man rotation because Reyes and James are both garbage right now.
3/23/2008 4:21:42 AM
We'll being back Albie Lopez.Who wants to start a pool on when Mark Kotsay will be cut?
3/23/2008 10:50:19 AM
http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/braves/stories/2008/03/23/smoltz_0324.htmlSmoltz will start the season on the DL, but he'll probably only miss one start. Same neck and shoulder crap that bothered him most of last year.AWESOME
3/23/2008 10:35:15 PM
why does there have to be a thread for every baseball team?
3/25/2008 12:52:25 AM
Because baseball rules, faggot.
3/25/2008 12:57:12 AM
I like baseball too motherfucker but jeez
3/25/2008 1:00:50 AM
at least nobody likes the royals.. and like the other half of the teams.
3/25/2008 1:10:24 AM
I made a Royals thread a couple years ago. I guess it's been purged.
3/25/2008 1:11:12 AM
If you want to I'll talk about Luke Hochevar and stuff... they could be a decent team in a couple years maybe with Butler, Gordon...need some pitchingOk well that was really about all i know, so maybe not..
3/25/2008 1:13:04 AM
I follow the Royals pretty close because I live in Kansas. Kauffman stadium is a good place to see a game too (especially considering it's not one of the new retro stadiums). The Royals always have young talent and fuck it up. Actually the Royals with Meche, Bannister, Greinke is not that horrible for a 1 through 3. Why the hell they gave Jose Guillen $texas is beyond me.
3/25/2008 11:06:05 AM
I know TWW is always up for a challenge.. so.. anyone know any websites that might accidentally be streaming the braves games? I know stations can broadcast but not stream but was wondering if somewhere it was slipping through. My job must have our building wrapped in aluminum foil so our radios will not pick up anything worth a damn.
3/25/2008 12:56:39 PM
3/25/2008 1:06:50 PM
^^^ Where in Kansas?
3/25/2008 1:08:01 PM
^^^ Just get MLB Gameday Audio. It's only $15 for the season. I've gotten it the past two years to listen to the Cubs and other interesting games (Like the nail in the coffin of the Mets meltdown last year).
