^^ old dude is pissed at that article, tried to spin it like he was in the wrong and attributed quotes to him that he did not say[Edited on September 21, 2007 at 12:36 PM. Reason : .]

As to the people who say he was just doing this to get money, he's ended up giving the $5k and change donated to the Ohio ACLU.

When I first saw the "DON'T TASE ME, BRO" guy, I thought of this. They're the same sort of douche.
9/21/2007 12:55:00 PM
^agree 100%
9/21/2007 2:16:13 PM
i have a lot more respect for this guy after reading his webpagehttp://www.michaelrighi.com/2007/09/20/success/he's actually thought through the constitutional and legal aspects of this quite a bit. and he's right. like most states, Ohio has written in their legal code that if you're not driving a car, you dont have to present any formal identification to an officer. unless you're being arrested, then its a moot point. .i dont think he's at all comparable to that Don't Tase me Bro fucknut. that dude was a conspiracy theory moonbat, waving his little book around and all that shit.

^I'm with Joe on this. Asserting your rights in the face of authority is quite anti-douchery.Those in gov't authority positions granted with power to use deadly force should have a pretty expert knowledge on the law.
9/21/2007 10:35:45 PM
It seems kind of douchey to me for him to call the police for help, then refuse to cooperate with them when they get there.
9/22/2007 12:05:02 AM
^ yeah, that was exactly my initial reaction, and i posted something to that effect early in the thread.now that i actually read the guy's explanation of what he was doing, it's clear to me that he wasnt just a douchebag looking to cause trouble.he's actually onto an important issue... related to how we understand what it means to live in a society of laws that protect civil liberties, rather than empowering the police state to engage in arbitrary search and seizures.
9/22/2007 12:16:17 AM
I don't disagree with what he did. I think he has a valid point that people should understand (that most people won't thanks to the media, unless they read his blog). However, that doesn't mean, to me, that he shouldn't be called a douche. If it wasn't for that one point, I think I could defend him from being called a douchebag.

^Airline travel is heavily controlled by the federal gov't these-days.Walking out of a store is still pretty wide-open. What would it hurt for the police chief to apologize for the illegal arrest?
9/22/2007 11:15:03 PM
What would it hurt for the police chief not to apologize? Its some petty shit.
