The Falcons had terrible fans, and never even came close to selling out a home game on a regular basis. After Vick got there, they sold out 56 straight home games that he started. Other than their freak trip to the Super Bowl, they were a nothing franchise. Vick sold out games, sold jerseys and pumped money into that team and got the city interested in that team. They became the #1 team in that city. He definatly made that a better franchise. Barring all the dog fighting BS, Vick did wonders for the Falcons and their fans.

People will always hate on things that are different.Vick and Young are different types of QBs (from the norm, not from each other), so they get killed. Bush isn't a run it down your throat RB, so he gets killed.Just the way it is...[Edited on October 15, 2007 at 8:02 PM. Reason : x]

He got them one game away. Vick took the Falcons to the NFC championship game against the Eagles. Are you seriously so ignorant when it comes to sports that you don't remember that Vick took the Falcons that far?

I don't understand why you are laughing. You clearly stated that the Falcons were terrible before Vick and I post how they made the SB 2 years before him and its funny? I think its funny that JEFF CHANDLER was a better QB for ATL than Vick was. You are a worthless troll.

How many jerseys sold is now the argument for how good a player is? So if Vick jerseys sold more than Manning/Brady that meant he was better? You talk about selling tickets, when has Atlanta ever sold out in ANY sport? The Braves can't even fill up for a playoff game. Young has certainly not done more than Mario. I am done here.
10/16/2007 12:24:34 AM
The Falcons sold out 50+ home games in a ROW that Vick started. SUCK THAT! You moron.Go research some stats before you try and talk shit to me.....WE are done here Not to brag, but you just made a FUCKING FOOL of yourself. [Edited on October 16, 2007 at 12:30 AM. Reason : .]

Because Michael Vick is popular.Again, popularity does not directly translate to on-field success. He isn't a better player for being popular. And a fan base that only tunes in to their supposed team because of one player is a shitty fan base... wait, that sounds scarily like Terminus' sports fan base.

10/16/2007 12:35:17 AM
Apparently he doesn't since this is like his 50th name. All he does is troll and hate on NCSU.I mean it is very obvious when he gets a new one because everyone hates him.Give us a ring when Georgia State Community College even has an athlete drafted much less talked about being #1.
10/16/2007 12:35:59 AM
Out of Bush, Young, and Williams, who has had the most succes so far?Young was ROY while leading his team to 8 straight wins. He has more wins as a starter than Schaub. Schaub is sub .500 as a starter in the NFL. The Texans passed on Young for Carr, who doesnt even start in the NFL anymore. Mario has more games without sacks than he does with sacks. Please do not sit here and argue that Mario was the better pick.....

^None of the 3 are exactly lighting it up. Bush has 2 TDs and is averaging 50 YPG Rushing. Young hasn't thrown for 200 yards in a game yet and has 3 TDs and 6 INTs. Mario has a fumble recovery for a TD, 16 tackles and 3 sacks. Sounds to me like Bush/Young are getting worse and Mario is getting better. So are you admitting that Mario is doing BETTER than both of them this year? Isn't that the idea? Improvement. Look at how much better the Texans are on D with Mario now. And since you love wins and losses so much let's look at records:New Orleans 1-4 with Bush sucking ass as the feature back now.Tennessee 3-2 with Houston coming up this weekend so I guess we will see then how they fareHouston 3-3 out of nowhere since they have never had even close to a winning record
10/16/2007 1:17:59 AM
there are many much bigger busts in the nfl draft.... vick / bush not withstandingyoung was a very nice surprise player wise
10/16/2007 2:46:31 AM
i think anyone that argues mario was a bad pick for the texans doesn't understand football too much. although v young is definetly a winner, and i like him a lot as a player.

So you would argue that the primary responsibility of any player, coach, and gm is marketability, and how attractive that player would be for others to play with. You're both thinking like fine PR men, and fine marketing analysts, but the job of a GM on draft day is to pick the player that they think is going to the best long-term choice for their team.Ultimately, Vince Young would have probably caused a quarterback controversy on a weak team, which would have effectively made it a dead team (we're talking 80's Bucs dead). Bush wasn't necessary because their RB was coming off of a good season and there wasn't any need to bring in some hotshot when they could pay millions per year less for performance they wanted. The GM made a choice, he looked at the draft as a chance to fill a glaring hole on their team, defense. It would appear, given the numbers thusfar presented in only his second season in the NFL, that they made a decision that wasn't quite as stupid as everyone said that it was. Meanwhile, Vince Young's second year has gone the way of other such quick and nimble running QBs as Vick and Leftwich (in college he was a mobility qb iirc) and managed to get injured.Meanwhile, Bush wasn't even the best RB on his team last year, nor the best rookie. This year has been better for him, but he hasn't exactly lit the NFL on fire like everyone was predicting pre-draft day.Just imagine how poorly Bush would have performed with the Texan's woeful O-Line, or how quickly Young would have been in injury trouble last season, instead of putting it off until this year.

10/21/2007 7:42:42 PM
Collins didn't do too much (0TDs passes). I think it was the 6 TOs the Texas offense had. And the D limited them to only FGs (abeit 8).And if Schaub is hurt they won't get much better.[Edited on October 21, 2007 at 9:16 PM. Reason : you]

Nobody is knocking the Saints for taking Bush. They didn't take a risk selecting him over other players. The Texans took a HUGE risk, and so far it is failing miserably. The Texans aren't winning, the fans have no reason to come to games, and they lost a TON of money by drafting Mario. So far, I have yet to see anything positive from taking Mario #1 and none of you can point it out either. And as I have posted, Bush and Young have had multiple great games to Mario's 1. And I notice you failed to mention that Bush scored the winning TD and 2pt conversion to beat the Falcons last week.
10/24/2007 9:23:15 PM
so taking a player that will help build a terrible organization for years 6+ to come was a bad move compared to taking someone who may or may not be a bust that will be around for at most 5 years as a good back? I think Mario was a better decision personally, and they are winning more with him than they did without him compared to the Saints with Bush.besides we all can clearly see Bush is nothing without someone else to pound it between the tackles, hes nothing more than a modified receiver, we'll see how things go now that he is the featured back wont we though[Edited on October 24, 2007 at 9:28 PM.
