he seems sincere. that's all i can go on really.

"he seems sincere"ok i mean if thats all youre going on then i guess its a good enough reason for youdo you think bin ladin is capable of change? if he apologized for 9/11 and you thought he was sincere, would you respect him for changing?just seems like a fundamentally dumb premise to me[Edited on March 12, 2007 at 1:05 PM. so i ask you why you forgive a former KKK member who did god only knows what while he was a member of such a hateful groupand your retort is "well why shouldnt i believe him"i dunno i guess he maybe a racist and a bigot, but he's probably honest!
3/12/2007 1:06:53 PM
i didn't say i would vote for him or even like him.i respect the fact that he apologized.[Edited on March 12, 2007 at 1:08 PM. Reason : .]
3/12/2007 1:08:14 PM
before you respected him for changingnow you just respect him for apologizing
3/12/2007 1:09:06 PM
3/12/2007 1:09:08 PM
i would probably resort to trolling also if i had somehow gotten myself into a jam where i found myself arguing for the respect of a former KKK member]

im asking an honest question.

3/12/2007 1:11:48 PM
^^theres nothing in there that even implies any type of mutual exclusiveness so you should learn how to readoh yeah and learn how to respect former KKK members...cause I mean a verbal apology certainly makes up for any violent acts he did while in the Klan
3/12/2007 1:13:01 PM
3/12/2007 1:13:46 PM
way to continuously defend a former KKK memberdid you even read my edit?[Edited on March 12, 2007 at 1:14 PM. Reason : .]

go to his official website.
3/12/2007 1:19:05 PM
you dont have to convince me that David Duke is a racist...you know how? not because of his website...because he used to be in the KKK, by his own choice...just like Byrd...however you choose to defend one of these guys and "respect his apology"...I just look at them both as pieces of shit
3/12/2007 1:21:26 PM
good for you.
3/12/2007 1:22:24 PM
3/12/2007 1:22:38 PM
the better question, is why DO i have to convince you that Byrd is a racist?

3/12/2007 2:02:24 PM
well, i was answering the question "what do i have to do to convince you?"then i realized that wasnt what you asked.
3/12/2007 2:04:14 PM
^^ Those defending Byrd here "respect" him for "changing" to become a liberal Democrat. From what I can gather from their posts, if a former KKK member "changes" to adopt any political ideology other than liberal Democrat, he or she can fuck off. Is that about right?
3/12/2007 7:49:45 PM
who else has changed that would make your post at all relevant?
3/12/2007 9:31:50 PM
i know this thread is about Edwards, but I'd like to give belated props to John Kerry for forcing Major League Baseball to offer their package on cable tv and not just satelliteI don't even get the package myself, but I do subscribe to cable (as opposed to satellite) and think its a good thing because its another option for meAnd I could care less if its an abuse of power because it affects me personally, so good job Botox face]

$250, $300, $400 for a haircut?sounds like he'd fit right in in Washington..."$300 for a hammer, $10 a piece for nails" etc
4/18/2007 5:42:34 PM
who the fuck cares?
4/18/2007 5:53:47 PM
the general public?
4/18/2007 5:54:49 PM
i would love to meet the person who votes based upon a haircut.
4/18/2007 5:58:40 PM
i'm not saying that specifically...but considering the scrutiny of candidates based on the huge span of the media, its reasonable to think some voters would assume if he spends that much on a haircut, he probably wouldnt hesitate to spend big bucks in washington
4/18/2007 6:05:42 PM
^^or maybe the person who votes based on...The candidate who makes his entire platform on the "Two Americas" is clearly a part of the "America" that he is trying to bash. Edwards says he is a normal guy, father was a mill worker, and will fight for the little guy. Bottom line is he is a bloodsucking trial lawyer who couldn't care less about the average person. He would rather spend 400 dollars to get his pretty hair cut as opposed to spending 100 dollars on a still insanely expensive haircut and do something productive with the other 300.
4/18/2007 8:46:42 PM
$400 for a hair cut, but he wears plaid shirts and jeans, he is a common man. what a fucking douchebag

That’s an insane amount to spend on a haircut. But other candidates I’m sure are spending a lot too on haircuts or makeup. Or flights or advertising. And lets not pretend like there’s 0% chance looks affect votes. Expensive haircuts are silly in the ideal world, but that’s not the voter pool. Besides he’s done poverty center work and other stuff that shows he cares atleast a little. You can always chalk up anything a politician does ever to political motives, but then its kind of a moot point to hate on haircuts specifically if all things politicians do is bad. (although i have noticed that hating on politics is a popular political move).

I hope this time the voters will be more considerate of what the persons policies are.
