^^^nope, I didn't realize it was a copy of the same video.

motor trend is a non reliable source.if it was, then the 1997 civic would be at the top.
5/13/2007 10:19:20 AM
Leave it to a nutcase in Saudi Arabia to squeeze an LS1 in an evo engine bay:http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=276551It'll supposedly still be AWD
6/11/2007 8:18:03 PM
i don't understand whyit'll make the car even more noseheavy, and for what it surely most have cost him, he could've made the 4g63 put out more power than the chassis or driver could possible make use of.not to mention that all that torque is gonna make it tough to ever keep any driveline parts intact.man, i hate to sell my Evo. what a fantastic fucking machine.by the way, how many miles do most of you guys get on a tank of gas? i've gotten 270, but usually it's about 250 (and by then, i'm on fumes...there is a visible gap between the fuel gauge needle and the "empty" line). also, i'm at 12,800 miles, and the Advans are nearly down to the wear bars. No way in hell they'll make it past 15k even if I run them until the car won't drive straight on wet pavement.
6/11/2007 8:57:17 PM
I seem to hover at around 260 per tank getting mielage of around 23mpg.I've only got 5k on my advans and they already look like shit, i doubt they will last as long as yours did.
6/11/2007 9:36:34 PM
What are Advans?

6/11/2007 11:08:33 PM
^^^ yeah, not many curvy roads down here in FL.i make the best of it when I encounter one, but I just don't get the chance to thrash my tires much.plus I've only owned the car for the last 5k miles. the 1st guy was probably a big pussy.
6/11/2007 11:37:15 PM
282$ each, holy god
6/12/2007 8:20:15 AM
the ls1 isn't all that heavy, but that's not just an ls1, but a BLOWN LS1
6/12/2007 9:31:11 AM
it HAS to weigh noticeably more than a 4g63and i know it's blown, but still...the 4g63 could've made the car RETARDED fast for way less money and trouble than he'll have in the LS1 conversion.[Edited on June 12, 2007 at 10:11 AM. Reason : afsdsdf]
6/12/2007 10:11:44 AM
The 4g63 is an cast iron block, so no it doesn't.
6/12/2007 12:59:33 PM
it was featured on the science channel as one of the top rally car's of all time(got points off for looking like ass, to them, it seemed)
6/14/2007 9:09:02 AM
in rally racing its limited to a small turbo and doesn't have the awesome traction control/ stability control computer. those are the two reasons people love the car on the street. 1: the computer makes them look like awesome drivers.2: you can crank the boost and make tons of power with just a few mods.the fact that the subie has a better weight distribution and a lower center of gravity makes it a superior design once those two things are stripped from the evo.
6/14/2007 11:18:23 AM
First real world EVO X photos. That ugly tall humongous back end
7/3/2007 3:51:47 PM
I beg to differ. Thats a hot car through and through.
7/3/2007 4:05:52 PM
Ja, I like it a lot. Wonder how it'll drive...Ahmet
7/4/2007 7:02:47 PM
^^and^Agreed
7/4/2007 10:39:19 PM
I just don't understand what's so great about these things....Sorry
7/4/2007 11:10:17 PM
their out of the box performance, mainly. it's cheap to get a lot more out of them also.
7/5/2007 12:26:42 AM
Agreed on the new evo looking hawt. Honestly i even think the new base lancers are even nice to look at. I'd definitely wait a while before getting the evo X though...
7/5/2007 12:37:48 AM
Something about Evos (Mitsuz in general?), my girlfriend doesn't like them either, though she likes them better than Corvettes. Of course, if it was up to her, we'd all be driving Smart's and Lupos and the like...Ahmet
7/5/2007 6:59:44 AM
The EvoX looks very SRT-4ish to me. Anyone else notice that? Especially in black...I think it's just the muscular look of the car. Not that looking like an SRT-4 is a bad thing...as far as modded up sedans go, I think they look pretty mean. I like the new Evo look okay, but I think it looks a lot heavier than the old one, and the light feel on the Evo 8-9 was what I always heard as a selling point over the STI. It'll be interesting to see if that holds up.
7/5/2007 9:49:58 AM
the Evo X in that pic needs some dark wheels like the current MR BBS' and it would look really hot!
7/5/2007 11:11:55 AM
The only thing on that car that can possibly be mistaken for an SRT-4 is the color.I think you're being thrown off because they both look like they are leaning forward, ready to pounce.
7/5/2007 11:52:11 AM
looks fat....quarter panels are overextending over wheels way too much and flared front fenders have too many lines over them....kind of like last grand-am. wheel gap is ridiculous, they should have kept 17"s, would probably more nimble than with 18", rear end is jacked up too much, too high, something is wrong with it. rear lights are too slanted.EVO IX was just right. fat free in terms of body panels. simple chasis design, but very attractive.EVO IX >>> EVO X looks wise[Edited on July 5, 2007 at 1:37 PM. Reason : asdf]
7/5/2007 1:36:22 PM
nigga said pounce!
7/5/2007 1:48:39 PM
Those are 17's and the IX has the same flares as this car.
7/5/2007 1:58:27 PM
i am not talking about flares itself, but about that line running over the flare. all reviews are saying it will have 18" wheels. you know for sure wheels in the pictures are 17" wheels?
7/5/2007 2:53:04 PM
it looks like a tsx had sex with a volvo.nothing about that car looks like an srt-4 though. wtf were you smoking
7/5/2007 4:15:24 PM
i do miss the heat ventulation on the hood of the previous Evo's. to me that was a 'signature' difference from the STI and its hood scoop. Plus it was pretty damn functional.
7/5/2007 4:42:09 PM
ahahahahahahahahahaOEPII1 pisses the bed
7/5/2007 9:45:24 PM
What kind of brake pad life do you other Evo owners get?I haven't tracked the car, but I drive on the aggressive side on the street...some nice curvy roads near my house here.
8/25/2007 9:43:01 PM
7k miles so far and i (rightfully) still have no need to replace them.PS way to miss the raleigh evo meet:http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=290529
8/26/2007 10:44:46 PM
haha, i live 3000 miles from raleighalthough i was in town (sans Evo) a couple of weekends ago
8/26/2007 11:59:25 PM
I've gone through two sets already.
8/27/2007 12:15:38 AM
in how many miles, and how much track driving?i ask because i'm at almost 16k, and wonder if mine will be gone soon (been to lazy to look at them)think i should get the rotors turned, or just slap a set of Hawks or something on there and let them bed in? the rotors looked to have only minimal wear when I glanced at them the other day.[Edited on August 27, 2007 at 12:34 AM. 8/27/2007 12:20:05 AM
too lazy to lookkk??nigger just stick your head where the wheel is and look through the spokes..there is no being lazy about it.

This thread is officially one big circle jerk for Golovko, SandSanta, SoundBoy4, and theDuke866.

Hey gronkeWhy don't you go back to SA so you can have even more threads in hell dump dedicated how awful of a poster you are.Duke: I doubt you've beasted your brakes more then me and my rotors are still fine.Your pads should be ok too, but you really need to look at them to make the judgement.Stock pads aren't terrible and last quite some time.[Edited on August 27, 2007 at 6:36 PM. ^^hey gronke, green really isn't your color.
8/27/2007 10:17:25 PM
I am on my 3rd set of pads and I need to replace my front rotors ASAP...one of them has gotten pretty bad as far as depth. Most of my wear is track and deals gap. On the street I've gotten great mileage out of my stock pads. I'm at exactly 30,000 miles now.

didn't gronke go to Southeast Raleigh? Isn't that school right dead center in a predominantly black neighborhood? Wasn't more than 50% of the school black? just wondering where he got the whole 'i wasn't exposed to black people and black culture pre-college'
