I don't have shit to say because it's not worth responding to you. There are some Sox fans on here that aren't obnoxious, but you are not on that list. I don't mind talking baseball with them, but you just come up in here trolling. No thanks.
4/24/2007 11:46:56 AM
Johnny Damon was one of the best outfielders in the game when he played for Boston a couple years agoNow he sucks ass since he is a Yankee
4/24/2007 11:50:43 AM
oh well
4/24/2007 11:51:19 AM
ps: how bout Cano finally getting his first homer of the season...Yahoo! said he would be the 2nd best 2B behind Utley this year
4/24/2007 11:52:01 AM
He will be. Cano is a stud. It's so early. He'll catch up and get 25-30 this year, I'd bet.
4/24/2007 11:54:31 AM
Cano isn't a power hitter. He'll hit .320-.330 with 15-17 HRs and be fine in that lineup. I'd bet $$$ that Jose Valentin finishes with more HRs...Oh and the Melk-man left a small town on base last night.[Edited on April 24, 2007 at 1:18 PM. Reason : s]
4/24/2007 1:17:01 PM
^agree with you on both counts. And seriously, Melky needs to man the fuck up, he's been crappy since last August.
4/24/2007 1:23:06 PM
^^Yeah, on second thought, I'm thinking 25 will be on the high side of Cano's scale. But you're right about his average, and he will indeed do well.
4/24/2007 1:28:56 PM
whatever cycle...i've never been a fucking troll about this shit before. someone just needs to call out all you guys who play shit off and make claims like damon is an elite CF. you know that's bullshit on both accounts. if you guys had swept the sox this weekend, you'd by strutting your shit around town and you know it. yeah it's early in the season, but it has to hurt being swept by your rivals - if you can't admit to that, you're even more full of it than I could imagineand if you think the problem with winning is having 3/5 of your starters on the DL, you should really re-evaluate your position...your middle relief (and even rivera) is just not getting it done.
4/24/2007 2:24:54 PM
k...I'll keep that in mind.
4/24/2007 2:32:00 PM
^^of course with healthy starters you don't have to rely on the bullpen as much, or is that too complicated for you.and in reply to last night's game...FUCK
4/25/2007 1:12:50 PM
4/25/2007 1:13:53 PM
last place. hahah, i love it [Edited on April 26, 2007 at 9:27 AM. Reason : GO SOX!]
4/26/2007 9:27:19 AM
no big deal. they start slow every year. In 2005 they were 11-19 and in last place by 3 games and ended up winning 95 games. The Philip Hughes era begins tonight. Then tomorrow we have a chance to start picking up games when the red sux come into town and we catch the back end of their rotation.
4/26/2007 9:29:18 AM
The Philip Hughes era starting is a complete act of desperation. Why the fuck would you bring up a guy on such a strict pitch count in the 80s? You know he isn't going to dominate the bigs like he did AA. He's basically a 4 inning pitcher in the bigs on that pitch count. Either let him pitch as long as a normal major leaguer or leave him in the minors.. unless of course you just want to completely decimate the bullpen more than it already is.[Edited on April 27, 2007 at 11:09 AM. Reason : ^^^ thanks for fucking up the thread jackass...]
4/27/2007 11:08:46 AM
^agreed. And I have to say last night was the most pathetic Yankee game I've seen in person. Amazing that 180 million buys 4 hits and pathetic attempts to throw out base stealers
4/27/2007 1:01:20 PM
This fucking blows. Something needs to change. I know we start every season slowly but holy shit!
4/30/2007 1:15:42 PM
why should this season be any different than the past several? pitching is the one thing that needs to be focused on from the head office and it never is. pitching is absolutely horrendous this season and it's not gonna get any better, even with the arrival of Clemens. he is one guy that will pitch one day in the rotation and will not be able to pitch an entire game.and for those that think Torre is responsible for all this, as Jeter put it yesterday: "There's no way he's responsible for us performing. He's not hitting for us. He's not pitching for us. He puts the best players out there on the field, gives us an opportunity to win. We're just not doing the job. That's unfair, and it should stop. ... He's doing a great job this year. We just haven't done the job on the field. That's the bottom line."
4/30/2007 1:25:21 PM
I agree with our pitching hurting. But you can't predict Mussina, Pavano (okay maybe him), and Wang all being put on the DL at basically the same time. And our bullpen has been pretty damn weak.
4/30/2007 1:49:41 PM
If they fire Joe Torre there are going to be some pissed off yankee fans and players. Count me among the pissed of fans that people would even think of it. Maybe if we focused on getting some pitching talent we wouldn't be in this hole we're in right now.
4/30/2007 2:03:14 PM
no you cant predict that most of the starting pitching staff would be on the DL but when the Yankees bring in a new trainer who changes the routine and program these guys have been accustomed to for years, injuries are going to happen and now is evident of that. what's even worse is that the Yankees cant really even draw from the minor leagues for pitchers because all the talent that was there has been traded and is now long gone thanks to george fuckbreiner. i cant wait till that douche is gone; then maybe the team can get back to something.and if Torre is fired, i think there will be a riot at Yankees Stadium with the burning of Steinbrenner effigies. [Edited on April 30, 2007 at 2:08 PM. Reason : .]

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/baseball/mlb/04/30/bc.bba.yankees.steinbrenner.ap/index.htmlBoss backs Torre. Glad to see it. I think it would be a huge mistake to come down on him or fire him now.We all know that April really doesn't mean that much - 14% of the games to be played isn't indicative of the season.Maybe now the media can back off a little bit and let the season play out.If the yanks are still sub-.500 at the break, then maybe it's time for some change.I certainly don't expect the sox to go 15-3 vs. the Yanks this year. The pitching wasn't there early on, but something tells me that won't be allowed to persist.[Edited on April 30, 2007 at 3:06 PM. Reason : fuck having to put breaks in because some douchebag fucks up the thread width]
4/30/2007 3:05:47 PM
^ Damn straight. Would have been UNBELIEVABLY stupid to fire Torre right now. P.S. Thanks for the breaks. I was wondering why your post was so easy to read.
4/30/2007 4:12:53 PM
Wow....My opinion is it is waaaaaay to early to count ANYONE out. Yes the Redsox are off to a great start, and are 6.5 games up on the Yankees. The fact that the Yankees are only 6.5 out with virtually no pitching staff for most of the month of April is not that bad. It doesn't matter that they are in last. Clearly they have to turn it around soon, but hey...it's April....so all you Yankee haters need to relax...Peace :-)

let me get this is before midnightits only April and with that, goodnight raleigh!
4/30/2007 11:02:20 PM
Good win tonight. Excellent showing by Hughes, and hopefully the injury proves to be nothing serious.Let's get on a roll boys!
5/1/2007 10:58:58 PM
Per Joe Torre- "Hughes out at least 6 weeks with significant leg injury. Probable tear in upper left hamstring"
5/1/2007 11:23:53 PM
Oh come on. No way. Good lord.
5/1/2007 11:33:57 PM
I'm starting to think that the yankees need to fire/blame their athletic trainers and not Torreit's pretty ridiculous when three pitchers go down with injuries in a one week span (Karstens, Wang, Phelps) - on top of the injury problems they already had to their pitching staff. Luckily Wang is expected to make his next start.
5/2/2007 9:45:55 AM
Well, Karstens' injury wasn't really anyone's fault. He got hit in the leg with a line drive that cracked a bone. I mean, there's not much you can do about that. But, I think you're right about the new training program. Mussina, Wang and Hughes all go down with hamstring injuries? That's kind of strange, don't you think? Maybe Hughes' injury didn't have much to do with the NY training program since he spent time in AAA, but he was with the club in spring training. *sigh...who knows...
5/2/2007 11:00:56 AM
i feel like this is some kinda joke now. every week someone else is going down with an injury. the trainers have switched up the conditioning programs on these guys and apparently it was NOT a good idea as evident by these injuries. granted, nothing can be done about the line drive/cracked bone incident but the lesser injuries with the hammies is just plain unacceptable.
5/2/2007 11:04:00 AM
honestly, this makes me want to so we the only non injured starters we have are Pettite and Igawa. Everyone else has or is currently on the DL.wtf? how can we win games in August if we have to find a whole new staff of SPs in May & bullpen help in the summer? yesterday was so great, until....the injury...again.
5/2/2007 12:41:19 PM
5/2/2007 12:47:20 PM

Pavano likely done for the next season and a half with Tommy John surgery, per NY Daily News
5/3/2007 9:31:35 AM
^another positive in whats starting off as a great seasonmaybe rivera will get save #2 sometime in the month of May...maybe
5/3/2007 9:41:21 AM
Now ain't that some shit.
5/3/2007 11:06:30 AM
Yanks caught a break....Kevin Millwood scratched from today's start in favor of Mike Wood. So the yanks will face Mike Wood and Robinson Tejada in the 2 games of the double header.
5/3/2007 1:17:09 PM
what's the word on m wood? i know he just got called up from trips
5/3/2007 1:59:41 PM
Tejeda is pretty decent so far this year isnt he?
5/3/2007 2:01:59 PM
^h'es been ok, but he walks a lot of people which is the kiss of death with the Yankees.
5/3/2007 2:06:50 PM
Damon and Abreu = playing like shit. Hopefully May will heat things up for them. Are any of these games on ESPN today?
5/3/2007 4:55:32 PM
Won this afternoon...nice save by Mariano. I'll be up at Jaxtonight watching w/ some friends, drop on by if ya got time. I'll be in the Yankees hat and shirt smoking like a fiend
5/3/2007 7:43:48 PM
Picked up two more much-needed wins in a double-header sweep of the Rangers. Mo got more saves today than the previous 25 games combined. We'll take it!Let's get on a roll boys!
5/4/2007 12:09:23 AM
ftw.
