maine with another great outing despite subpar stuff.threw mostly all fastballs and still shut the dbacks down
5/5/2007 11:18:38 AM
Going to the game tonight! Ollie versus Zito. Gonna be an annoying New York fan in the Bay Area... fun times.
5/7/2007 11:54:58 AM
sweet...i wanna go to A game, ANY gamethesis first, though
5/7/2007 1:59:34 PM
Absolutely brutal stretch coming up. 3 against Milwaukee, 3 against the Cubs and 3 against the second best team in New York. Meanwhile the Braves get 3 with the Pirates and 4 with the Nationals. We probably will be a game or two back after the next 10 days but no worries..
5/11/2007 12:49:55 PM
Carlos Gomez was called up and Pelfrey sent down. I'm sure Gomez is only here until the 5th spot in the rotation comes up again but I'm excited to see him play. Jose Reyes said that Gomez is the only guy in the Mets system faster than he... and he's only 20!
5/13/2007 12:10:51 PM
8.1 IP, 2 Hits, 2 Walks, 6 SOPerez for Prez.[Edited on May 13, 2007 at 4:00 PM. Reason : against the mafuckin brewers!]
5/13/2007 4:00:35 PM
good work pounding the fuck out of the brewers and gomez had a great debutnot to mention the braves got murdered by the pirates
5/13/2007 5:38:49 PM
Fantastic AB by Delgado. Fouled off 4 nasty pitches and got the walkoff......... walk.First place again even with the Mets playing a tough part of their schedule and the Squaws playing a bunch of shit teams..
5/14/2007 10:10:31 PM
the mets have to be the most exciting team in baseballi personally like chavez in the lineup more than alou, but i am partial to guys who can fly, even if they are avg hitters
5/14/2007 10:30:15 PM
Reyes was SO out on that steal in the 9th
5/14/2007 10:47:02 PM
That OF of Endy, Beltran, and Chavez would be the best defensive outfield of our generation. That game on Sunday was amazing to watch.Oh, yeah. Reyes is your 2007 MVP. Book it.[Edited on May 15, 2007 at 1:16 PM. Reason : ^ crack. are you on it?]
5/15/2007 1:16:14 PM
5/15/2007 1:50:00 PM
Let the mets put it to the best teams in the league...giving them more confidence....atlanta will choke sooner or later....
5/15/2007 2:30:08 PM
5/15/2007 2:40:54 PM
I'm not complaining. Larry did enough of that for both teams. The Cubs have a really good Run differential and the Brewers had the best record in baseball. The Braves are playing the Pirates and the Gnats. Just stating a fact.and yeah, I meant Carlos Gomez. I think he was always a bit higher thought of than Milledge by Omar but none of them compare to Fernando Martinez...
5/15/2007 2:42:55 PM
What's up with Pelfrey? I thought he was a cant miss kinda guy....he has looked awful thus far.If I were the mets I would try and dump him in a package for Willis later this summer.
5/15/2007 3:01:14 PM
Reyes was SO out
5/15/2007 6:57:24 PM
mets got zambranowned tonight
5/15/2007 10:23:03 PM
F'd in the Agame on thursday is on WGN so we can see it hereVargas is pitching tho, ERA of over 7 for Florida last year
5/15/2007 10:28:42 PM
I hate the Mets and all, but Aramis Ramirez's reaction to his grand slam last night was worth a bean ball. If he did that after hitting one against the Braves, I would hope that he got one in the back the next time. I guess he could argue that he was making sure it was fair, but he clearly took his time going down the line with a punk ass look on his face.
5/16/2007 12:38:55 PM
I miss Pedro The good thing is that he will be throwing low to mid 90's again. Pedro would have drilled him in the back and then taken a few steps toward home plate like he did with Jose Guillen last year...[Edited on May 16, 2007 at 12:54 PM. Reason : z]
5/16/2007 12:54:44 PM
The absolute biggest nightmare that could have happened just did. Jose Reyes may have pulled a muscle in his leg... I'm praying it's a cramp but he left the game...[Edited on May 17, 2007 at 12:53 AM. Reason : phew.. probably just a cramp.]
5/17/2007 12:43:11 AM
lastings milledge is the pride of new york!
5/17/2007 6:17:54 AM
Mets on the WGeeNyus right now vs the Cubslol forgot they had Bob Brenlyand Len Kasper sounds like a name for a twink on gay porn[Edited on May 17, 2007 at 1:12 PM. Reason : haha Julio's playing third..I hope he took his Centrum Silver]
5/17/2007 1:01:32 PM
What a comeback!!!down 5-1 to start the 9thDelgado with another walkoff, this time at least it was a hit
5/17/2007 3:42:01 PM
the Cubs suck - so do the Braves
5/17/2007 3:49:23 PM
FUCK! I saw innings 1-6 but I had a damn conference call and couldn't watch the end.. oh well, that's why I have MLB.tv archive...Oh and I think it's safe to say Lastings is officially trade bait. Gomez has all the tools AND the right attitude. Kids going to be good when he fills out..[Edited on May 17, 2007 at 4:18 PM. Reason : x]
5/17/2007 4:16:19 PM
helluva 9th inning for the metropolitans
5/17/2007 4:26:45 PM
The Knickerbockers, Nets and Metropolitans would never fly as team names if they were introduced today
5/17/2007 5:26:27 PM
so who is the guy that I heard Peter Gammons talking about on the radio today as him and Reyes being the best 1-2 leadoff in the league? some outfielder maybe who is really fast?
5/17/2007 7:50:01 PM
Carlos Gomezhttp://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/8023
5/17/2007 7:56:22 PM
he worth a pickup in fantasy?
5/17/2007 8:07:36 PM
probably if you have a keeper league, but when Alou comes back, Gomez will probably get irregular playing time or get sent back to the minorsof course, Alou gets hurt more than Biakabutuka so you never know
5/17/2007 8:11:37 PM
bttt
5/22/2007 8:44:03 PM
I just heard Willie say on WFAN that he is moving Delgado down in the order...Tonights lineup is:ReyesGreenBeltranWrightDukeDelgadoEasleyGomezPerezWho has the highest average in that lineup?Oliver Perez

5/24/2007 5:06:41 PM
good to see us pulling away in the East just like i figured, the braves could not keep up that torrid pace they were putting up the first month and a half of the seasoni think they can still get the wild card though
5/28/2007 3:40:39 PM
I wouldn't call it pulling away when we're only 4.5 up in MayStill over 100 games leftNow Boston, on the other hand, you can say is pulling away[Edited on May 28, 2007 at 4:29 PM. Reason : x]
5/28/2007 4:29:11 PM
someone buy ^^ a calendar
5/28/2007 5:00:15 PM
^ i know exact when it isi also know gonzalez is hurt, wickman is shaky everytime he comes out, andruw is hitting like david dejesus and chipper is (as usual) hurt.Do i expect the braves to make the playoffs? YesDo i expect them to be able to compete with the Mets over a 162 game haul (even though Braves own us in head to head)? No, I don't
5/28/2007 5:21:38 PM
so we've lost a middle relieverandruw is playing as bad as he possibly can (although he's showing signs of life lately)and chipper is outthe race is over!
5/28/2007 6:17:05 PM
I give 2 shits about the division. We won it 14 years in a row and it did us little good, I'll take a wild card for a change and maybe more success in the playoffs. When the mess win 5 or 6 divisions in a row THEN I'll consider taking them seriously. But it is cute to see all you little mess fans get excited about the possibilty of winning it 2 years in a row.
5/28/2007 6:31:12 PM
It's pretty obvious we're the class of the NL. Told everyone that in March when certain people were throwing around 3-year ERA+ numbers like they mattered... Sure, there is a lot of time out and I'm not counting out the Braves or especially the Phillies but unless we get KILLED by injuries (and I'm talking depth injuries like starters and Easley/Chavez) we should win the division by 7-8 just like I said all along. The Braves are still my pick for the Wild Card though...^ actually, I don't really care about the division. It's a means to the goal. Anything less than a pennant is a disappointment. I know that sounds too Yankee-ish but the World Series was ours to lose last year after the yanks lost and the Cards just got hot at the right time and we lost it.[Edited on May 28, 2007 at 6:43 PM. Reason : p.s.- anyone hear Pedro on Friday? 95 again? I think I pissed myself when I heard that...]

5/28/2007 7:09:57 PM
Lincecum - Ollie tonight. Should be one hell of a matchup. Perez has been sick all year and Lincecum is the next rookie to take on the highest expectations (King Felix 2 yrs ago and Liriano last year).Shea should be hopping tonight. Oh and the Giants radio station said no Bonds or Durham tonight.
5/29/2007 12:14:31 PM
have they said for sure when Pedro's coming back?
5/29/2007 1:49:22 PM
6-7 weeks is the plan. He is throwing off the mound again starting this week.
