I loved it.Tarantino's film was the better in my opinion. And the Thanksgiving preview was hilarious, especially at the end where the villain was skull fucking that dead guy.

i thought russell wouldve been hurt a little more from all those jabs in the face he was taking from that metal pipe
4/14/2007 8:37:52 PM
I felt bad for him, that was an awesome performance . . . I wanted him to kill those girls in a horrible way
4/14/2007 10:29:10 PM
This was one of the most enjoyable movie going experiences I've had in a very long time.
4/14/2007 10:35:17 PM
...although this shouldn't be the end of the argument, I wouldn't be surprised if QT intended in the final product for the chronology to be fucked, contrary to the script.
4/15/2007 1:17:13 AM
eh it was alright.First movie I'd give like 6.5/10. It was a fun cheesefest, but at times it was attempting to be waay too serious for me. Not to mention the ridiculous amounts of attempting to fill plot holes. If you are going to make a cheese horror flick, don't waste our time trying to make the plot make sense.Death Proof I'd give a solid 8/10, but I'll never watch either of them again. The dialogue for 30 minutes was very very slow and it never lead to anything. I'm cool with long dialogues about characters I care about, but I wanted the bitches to die LONG before they bit it. Of course maybe that was the intention, who knows. Driving scenes were pretty cool, the stuntwoman was awesome, and I love the cars.
4/15/2007 7:36:47 PM
Anyone notice of the two music themes throughout Planet Terror, one of them was an alteration of the Dewey theme from the Scream movies?
4/15/2007 7:56:02 PM
Saw it today. My girlfriend and I both liked "Death Proof" best. That was a good movie with a great ending.I wonder what happened to the cheerleader who was left with the dude who was selling the car?
4/15/2007 9:43:22 PM
well in one sense the 2nd group of girls' adventure couldve happened first, but that would only be assuming he didnt die at the end...it could explain his vengeance towards the first group of girls, but when the sherrif's are investigating it seems like he's bounced out of austin to somewhere in tennessee to prey on his next group of femalesalso i'm pretty sure that death proof happens before planet terror...the nurse is still on speaking terms with her father...also when fergie is getting out of her car one time the radio is saying something about "in memory of jungle julie"
4/15/2007 11:15:17 PM
The movie(s) was(were) great. When the first one ended the lights accidentally came on and stayed on for 5 minutes. The mexicans in the front row left thinking the movie was over. I thought it was pretty funny. And after the second movie finished they gave us all free passes b/c of the light malfunction.
4/17/2007 1:24:23 AM
here is a pic of robert rodriguezobviously quentin had roles in both flicks ("rapist #1" and "loud friend in bar") but was rodriguez in either one as even a small cameo? i didnt notice but maybe someone else didalso here is another pic i found while google imaging robert rodriguez that i thought was part funny and part hottiealso the john wayne impersonation by kurt russell when talking about "you're ok in my book" was pretty funny
4/18/2007 11:58:10 PM
dunno about RR, but Eli Roth was one of the guys in the bar in Death Proof
4/19/2007 12:01:57 AM
^^chick in that pic is Indian Actress Mallika Sherawat
4/19/2007 12:12:47 AM
^pretty damn hot^^was that the guy who played Pumpkin (of Pumpkin and Honey Bun) in Pulp Fiction?
4/19/2007 12:24:52 AM
nah that's tim rotheli roth directed Cabin Fever, Hostel, and the Thanksgiving trailer
4/19/2007 12:26:26 AM
ah ok, this guywow he looks kinda evil in that pici wonder if any other somewhat famous hollywood folks had small unnoticeable cameos as zombies in PT?
4/19/2007 12:29:21 AM
the original El Mariachi(not Banderas) was one of the deputies in PT, and Sex Machine from From Dusk Til Dawn was the other oneel mariachihttp://static.flickr.com/79/272943324_fc9693cc16_b.jpgSex Machine(good guy with the cock gun from FDtD)http://static.flickr.com/90/272943804_0c714efa84_b.jpgoh, and robert rodriguez's son(named Rebel, hah) played the doctors' son.[Edited on April 19, 2007 at 12:35 AM. 4/19/2007 12:30:55 AM
i do recall seeing Sex Machine as the deputy...when dude bit his finger off he shouldve used his penis pistol from FDTDor perhaps when they ripped him in like 3 pieces!
4/19/2007 12:33:27 AM
4/19/2007 12:42:28 AM
4/19/2007 12:46:06 AM
^ive seen him in other works but considering the tarantino tie-in, he's just explaining it in simple terms for those who arent movie buffs^^i dont know if i wanted russell to win, but i expected him to win...however at the end it seems like zoe was kind of death proof and it turns out she is an actual stuntwoman so im guessing she actually was on the hood of the car doing her stunts...that made the ditch story seem more relevant
4/19/2007 1:12:21 AM
zoe bell did all of her stunts herself, and they were 100% real and at full speed with no undercranking or effects
4/19/2007 1:24:48 AM
and what the fuck is that supposed to mean mate
4/19/2007 1:26:05 AM
undercranking is where they shoot the stunts at 40-50 MPH with the camera running slow, then turn it up to make the backgrounds look like they're moving faster. death proof was shot at full speed.
4/19/2007 1:36:32 AM
interesting...i didnt know the term undercranking beforealthough my last post was actually what zoe says to the ditzy one when she insinuates that she's australian (maybe slightly paraphrased)...i got a kick out of that]

4/19/2007 8:10:15 AM
I'm gonna eat your brains and gain your knowledge
4/23/2007 3:53:58 PM
^ My favorite line from the movie.
4/23/2007 7:49:56 PM
Having seen this for a third time, it just confirms how much more rewatchable Death Proof is than Planet Terror. It still drags a little in two spots (both during the first set of girls), but the car chase is even more riveting when you can focus on what Zoe's doing in all of the shots.
4/27/2007 2:54:46 AM
Dammit I waited to long to see this and now I guess I'll just have to wait until it comes to the 1.50 theater or DVD.
5/13/2007 2:15:32 PM
Death Proof on DVD on September 18th. From what I can gather, the DVD release might be the non-double feature cut, which would add 27 minutes to the runtime.Planet Terror on DVD on October 16th. I don't care so I didn't bother getting any details. ]
7/24/2007 5:10:21 AM
Of the two movies, I only care about planet terror. The other movie was just a bunch of girls sitting around and talking... not my kind of film.
7/24/2007 8:18:55 AM
Yeah, I hate car chases, too.Not.
7/24/2007 8:20:48 AM
add 27 minutes? what extra stuff is in that 27 minutes?
7/24/2007 11:27:10 AM
The dialogue that they cut off during the time the movie was out in theatres. Probably nothing major.
7/24/2007 11:33:46 AM
yeah probably just more tarantino relatively-meaningless dialogueit would be cooler if they showed stuntman mike killing more people or doing something]
7/24/2007 11:34:51 AM
Well the entire lap dance scene got cut, for starters.
7/24/2007 11:40:25 AM
oh yeahi think the farm cheerleader porno part got cut too haha
7/24/2007 11:43:41 AM
Honestly, I hope there's nothing more with the cheerleader.Only because her last line is her actually saying the word "gulp."
7/24/2007 11:47:18 AM
i doubt we ever get a chance to see the scene in the bbq place? from the time el rey and cherry bang to when the sherrif gets shot and el rey tells him who he is or whatever
7/24/2007 11:48:46 AM
It'll probably be in there. The "missing reel" thing was only half a joke; there really are missing reels there. With that said, I'm not buying the Planet Terror DVD so I won't be able to tell you.
7/24/2007 11:55:40 AM
ah thats brilliant though...its one movie...albeit a long double feature...but if you want the "whole movie" you pay for 2 different dvds...nice
7/24/2007 11:57:30 AM
It's not one movie. It's two movies they cut down and put together. That was the whole point. ]
7/24/2007 12:00:03 PM
the whole point was for them to charge you double for the DVDs
7/24/2007 12:03:16 PM
Except I never want to see Planet Terror again, so that wouldn't be the point at all. It's two movies. The fact that they released them together for the price of one ticket was the idea of the experience, but it doesn't change the fact that they're two different movies. That's why, for instance, Tarantino didn't do all the aging and artifact bullshit that Rodriguez did.
7/24/2007 12:06:32 PM
I am pretty sure they will later on put them into one giant pack as well. I imagine that they are doing this to make up for the (very) disappointing ticket sales.
7/24/2007 12:59:32 PM
7/24/2007 1:17:06 PM
they'll put them together just as soon as Tarantino puts together Kill Bill...
7/26/2007 10:31:55 PM
^actually . . . http://www.cinematical.com/2007/06/21/kill-bill-the-whole-bloody-affair-coming-to-dvd/
7/26/2007 11:03:23 PM
So the transfer on the Death Proof DVD is absolutely beautiful, but aside from a few choice lines, I don't think the extra twenty minutes really adds anything significant to the movie. Oh well, it's still fucking great.
