Marvel just e-mailed this trailer today--they called it the "New Hi-Res Extended Iron Man Movie Trailer." Was the one that's already been posted hi-res and extended? I'm not sure.Anyway, here it is:http://marvel.com/movietrailer

I wasn't real big on Iron Man growing up but this movie looks damn good.Next to Indiana Jones this is the best movie coming out before summer.
3/5/2008 2:18:55 AM
this is THE movie that I am looking forward to this spring.also, im getting pissed off because the search function here on tdub sucks.
3/8/2008 8:22:17 PM
Iron Man in comics have also gotten a lot more interesting recently.I mean, over the past couple of years Stark has gone from being the #2 guy on the Avengers to being pretty much the most powerful guy (politically) in the Marvel universe, and featured in almost every book.Wonder if it is because of the movie?
3/9/2008 12:09:06 AM
Both this and the Indy poster are really cool. I'm glad they are going back to this style.
3/10/2008 12:29:34 PM
so the villian is a giant robot?[Edited on March 27, 2008 at 8:28 PM. Reason : .]
3/27/2008 8:27:40 PM
nah the villain is that arabic guy who builds the evil robot based on stark's designs. i assume he's inside it

Read a report that this movie will actually be released 8:00 PM may 1st, not May 2nd. Due to response from pissed off fans because the international version was set to be released two days before the american version.can anyone else confirm this?
4/24/2008 2:01:10 PM
^^^^ That's not the villain. That's an early iteration of his suit.
4/24/2008 4:16:37 PM
Actually, that is the villain, Iron Monger. Stark's mk1 armor doesn't look as refined as the one pictured there.
4/25/2008 4:32:23 PM
If there is a dude inside that robot I can only assume that the chest area is large enough to house the entire person, because there is no way the guy could have his arms and legs threaded into that thing.
4/25/2008 7:57:12 PM
There is indeed someone inside it. One of the Iron Monger toys has a removable chest to reveal the operator.http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/ProductsByBrand.htm?BR=861&ST=SO&ID=21523&PG=2The toy's not really a good model for how the operator fits inside, but it kinda looks like his legs have to go into the armor's legs. The arms, not so much, as I could imagine room for controls for those in the chest cavity. The operator does appear to be Obadiah Stane, though.
4/25/2008 9:11:06 PM
i don't see any reason his arms and legs couldn't go in there, if he had some pedals to work or something, kinda like ripley with the loader in aliens
4/25/2008 10:06:58 PM
whoh black sabbath on the preview...I never would have guessed!
4/27/2008 2:49:46 PM
Watched the movie last night at a pre-screening. I had high expectations coming into the movie, and they were met. I'm a huge fan of Tony Stark/Iron Man, so I was glad to see that they nailed his character. The first hour of the movie was really, really good. We're talking "Batman Begins" quality good. The rest of the movie wasn't quite as good, but it was still fun, and it still worked well.It was fun seeing Marvel plant some seeds for a sequel movie, and I got excited because it seems they're finally bringing SHIELD into the Marvel movie universe. If the "Incredible Hulk" movie features SHIELD as well(with the same actors, hopefully), I will be a very happy Marvel fanboy.

5/1/2008 9:43:06 PM
my buddy just got out of the 8 p.m. showing at Brier Creek and texted me to say that it's the second best movie of the summer.Second only to The Dark Knight I'll be at the 11:59 show.[Edited on May 1, 2008 at 10:19 PM. Reason : ]
5/1/2008 10:19:01 PM
just got back. Great film.Stay after the creds.
5/2/2008 12:02:13 AM
Dammit I knew I should have stayed for the credits.....PM me what happened please! This was pretty good. And I agree 1st hour was excellent and 2nd hour could have been better. Obvious sequel coming in 2 years or so.
5/2/2008 1:59:20 AM
MOTHER FUCKER, we were wondering if we should have stayed, damn it anyways, it was great, and more than lived up to my expectations
5/2/2008 2:19:38 AM
awesome.
5/2/2008 2:32:09 AM
A fun ride. One of the better comics movies I've seen.
5/2/2008 2:36:23 AM
'twas pretty good, i thought.looked great, right up there w/ transformers, visually.[Edited on May 2, 2008 at 2:46 AM. Reason : and i had forgotten how smoking hot gwyneth paltrow is.]
5/2/2008 2:45:48 AM
this movie was ridiculously good, i highly recommend it
5/2/2008 3:02:30 AM
seein it tonight
5/2/2008 3:14:23 AM
Agreed. Awesome movie. Awesome surprise after the credits.
5/2/2008 3:51:47 AM
So there were no problems with the way the special effects looked? Meaning, they didn't look fake? The trailers all looked awesome.BTW, I think Favreau is a pretty damned good director.
5/2/2008 6:29:49 AM
The special effects were fine, they were never distracting and they remained consistent throughout.
5/2/2008 7:27:06 AM
awesome movie...pay attention for a stan lee cameo and stay through the credits like thor said.
5/2/2008 8:38:23 AM
Did people even know this was out last night? There were about 8 people in the theater I went to.
5/2/2008 9:24:38 AM
Crossroads was pretty full last night at the 11:00 showing.
5/2/2008 9:30:23 AM
I liked it muchly. A few parts were like wtf, but overall very good.
5/2/2008 10:38:16 AM
the 11:59 at Brier Creek was packed.and some annoying fuckers geeked out when the scene appeared at the end of the credits.STFU when you're in a theater. Hoopin' and hollerin' during a comic book movie does not make you look cool.
5/2/2008 10:58:03 AM
sucks if this movie is actually kind of good. i was never a big iron man fan growing up. so of course one of the very few good superhero movies might end up being a character i wasnt really into at least i have high hopes for the new batman
5/2/2008 11:03:03 AM
for anyone that missed the scene after the credits: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Jcj6Y-WWX14
5/2/2008 11:24:58 AM
5/2/2008 11:27:54 AM
Oh, well I went at like 8:30, so maybe people that have gotten used to the midnight showings aren't aware of the earlier showtimes?
5/2/2008 12:02:12 PM
11:30 at north hills was pretty empty
5/2/2008 12:07:01 PM
9:30 at Crossroads was pretty slim too. I thought I recognized a chick from tww or something but maybe I've just seen her around campus. The people who stayed after the credits also creamed their pants...however, two of them were my friends .Also, saw JJ Hickson come out of....Prom Night. >_>[Edited on May 2, 2008 at 12:43 PM. 5/2/2008 12:42:59 PM
The 11:00 pm at Raleigh Grande was about half full last night.Good movie. If you go to see an action flick you won't be dissapointed. The suit delivers(10/10) and the action sequences are sweet. Decent storyline, writing and humor. About on par with Transformers.
5/2/2008 1:28:37 PM
I'd say it beats the hell out of Transformers. The dialogue is really good, and Robert Downey Jr is a perfect Tony Stark. The only odd thing is that the Big Lebowskie is in it
5/2/2008 1:34:25 PM
it was much much better than transformers
5/2/2008 1:36:49 PM
5/2/2008 1:37:59 PM
Jeff Bridges has been in twenty films since The Big Lebowski.I'd say Stick It is a weirder choice than this one.
5/2/2008 1:44:46 PM
^ perhaps, but i've only seen one of them (k-pax), and even that one i only half remember.
5/2/2008 1:46:40 PM
transformers blew
5/2/2008 1:50:57 PM
