so yeah... i wonder how they will make the stamps. if they use just normal Ink... most colors are gonna pose a bit of a problem.i'm black. i'm not very dark skin but darkish colors on a dark background makes it VERY hard to tell what the color of the ink is. that being said... i'm CHOCOLATErvh... not dark chocolatervh. if you come across a shakazulu black brotha with a stamp on his hand. its gonna take a good 3 minutes to figure out what color it is.

Jesus Christ, if you won't even skip class to go to a game it's no use complaining. Blah blah now you have a mid-term, I'm sure.

I feel like i'm the only one who likes this idea. It's a matter of dedication. The people who wanted the good sections went through the trouble to get in them somehow. And now those dedicated crazy fans will be in the good sections because they will do anything (like showing up early) to get good seats.I've been waiting for general admission like this for a while... two thumbs upalso, they should do the same thing for bballearly people get courtside, later people get further and further up... two thumbs upand if you really want to get the upper sections... show up right before kickoff... duh
9/29/2006 12:45:45 PM
initial reaction from safety and athletics is no on allowing you to choose which section you want by picking a gate that cooresponds...but we're still working on it...more to come over the weekend

well the more you cutdonw on tailgating and drinking the less people you'll get that just go to the game for the party. more football fans. id say about 80% of students at the game could give a shit about football
9/29/2006 12:54:09 PM
Thanks. That makes an excellent point.
9/29/2006 12:55:53 PM
^,^^ seriously. this needs to be fixed. award points for going to akron and app or make people wait in a 5 hour line to get tickets. that will weed some of the people that are just there to drink and socialize out already.it seems like they could integreate tickets into our all campus cards. i know some schools do this. go to reynolds and have your card swipe during the week and a ticket put on it then just swipe your card to get into the game. swipers and the little metal gates that are usually at rides/subways that only let one person in per swipe at each section gate.

^^as a test for 1 week ban tailgating and alcahol and give random seating and see how many of them show.~or<20% i bet.
9/29/2006 2:05:07 PM
It doesn't piss off the fans that want to get more drunk, it pisses off people that don't want to sit in the stadium with nothing to do for an hour. i'd rather hang out in the lot tossing football and eating a bit more food and on saturdays watch/listen to the other games that are on.alcohol or not i don't feel like wasting an hour just sitting in the stadium. don't make this a dedicated fan vs. alcoholic type thing because that isn't the case.[Edited on September 29, 2006 at 2:31 PM. i'll bet that the reason they did this was because chuck wouldn't stop complaining about no one being in the stands during kick off due to tailgaitingnow you have to get in early to get your good seatsgayness
9/29/2006 2:35:38 PM
9/29/2006 2:45:23 PM
DO YOU REALLY HAVE TO SIT IN SECTION 7???? IS IT THAT BIG OF A FUCKING DEAL TO SIT IN THE UPPER DECK OR END ZONE? I like the new policy if it means more people will leave for the game early and i can tailgate up to the last couple minutes and just walk in.Its a football game, no seats are THAT much better than the others.... this way if you really want a good seat you can have it. Just drink 4-5 beers before the tailgating hours begin and then another 6-8 during the 3 hours of tailgating and go wait in that horrendous line for an hour.Or just be a normal person and realize that your specific seat/section isnt that important.
9/29/2006 4:10:12 PM
i got this problem where i dont WANT to sit in section 7 or 8, but want to sit in the new endzone.and i think the order is7-8SEZNEZ14-15so i dunno when to strategically get in line to get NEZ
9/29/2006 4:20:00 PM
good question...working on thatand also working on some entertainment (concerts perhaps, other stuff) for people who sit there for over an hour
9/29/2006 5:03:22 PM
its not like you cant have beers while waiting in line.....of course bringing like 6 might prove to be difficult
9/29/2006 5:04:56 PM
i know its probably not feasible but itd be nice if there were gates that were open for entry at the start, where you could go ahead and have your hand stamped for NEZ or whatever else was after the 7 & 8 crowd
9/29/2006 5:10:41 PM
Lee:With all due respect, there should def. be a way that folks don't hafta count on standing in line for an hour. Multiple gates might be a solid idea.
9/29/2006 5:22:44 PM
sections 14 and 15 are going to be empty for kickoff unless something is changedstart letting students in early or something, but there is NO WAY one gate will be enough to get everyone in and assigned to a section in time for kickoff.no chance
9/29/2006 5:27:56 PM
There are 3 gates and have been for all games this year.
9/29/2006 6:05:29 PM
lahyde, who do we send emails to about this system?
9/29/2006 6:46:18 PM
9/29/2006 6:54:42 PM
being in the student WPC I dont even have to use this system, but it still pisses me off and I will support any protest or petition against itthat being said, if I have any extra tickets I will give them away so that a few more people can avoid the hassle.[Edited on September 29, 2006 at 7:02 PM. this is going to be such a disaster. i'm glad we are trying this during the most important game of the year. there must be a better solution.

9/29/2006 7:22:00 PM
this is fucking bullshitthere are a million ways to fix the problem without making another one; honestly, who the hell thinks this is a good idea? And all you people who keep saying "this is great, the diehard fans will wait in line", shut the fuck up. The whole point and tradition on game day is to be able to tailgate. They've now found a way to fuck everyone in the ass who wants to tailgate for a decent amount of time.[Edited on September 29, 2006 at 8:14 PM. Reason : ]

naw...it's the same as normal...no idea why they added the "A" because the gate isn't changing
9/29/2006 9:11:14 PM
Not sure if this is mentioned before, but if section 7 and 8 are the problem why not stamp the peoples hand that sit in section 7 and 8. That simple. Seems to me that there is something else in the mind of the people who made this new policy.[Edited on September 29, 2006 at 9:15 PM. Reason : error]

^ been mentioned by myself and others a bunch of times. apparently, it would require extra time to varify that the ticket is actually a 7 or 8 ticket and not forged???I think thats crap. I think its crap that people are so desperate to sit in section 7 or 8. I hate section 7 and 8 right now. I wish those sections would just sink into the mud. the problem is just that people feel that section 7 and 8 are SIGNIFICANTLY better seats. so much better that they are willing to forge tickets to get in there, and then piss themselves while being in there. so fucking stupid. and i hope people that have sneck into section 7 and 8 aren't the ones bitching about this because it's their fault. if people would just sit in their sections with their blocks this isn't an issue. fucking morons and section 7. I think that gate 11A should be for section 7 and 8 tickets. Let them waste their time in that line. If the person gets up their and the ticket isn't a real section 7 or 8 ticket, take down their name and ban them from getting student tickets forever. Leave the rest of us alone, and use the 10 gate.
9/29/2006 9:50:06 PM
The scanners apparently display the name and section of the ticket scanned. The staff would then have to actually verify that both the section in the system and on the ticket match. This would take more time. It's hard enough for them to figure out how to scan the tickets so this would just add more problems.[Edited on September 29, 2006 at 9:55 PM. Reason : ]

does it seem to anyone else that we are the ONLY university that can't get a f*cking system that works?? and rules on tailgating for that matter. We had a system that worked just fine til they brought it all online. I honestly miss standing in line, waiting to see what section you were gonna get.
9/29/2006 10:39:31 PM
no, everything worked fine til some douchebag incorrectly correlated tailgating time with getting shot in the face.
9/29/2006 10:45:35 PM
Instead of tickets, they should distribute plastic bracelets with the barcode and ticket info printed on them at reynolds. that way you are already assigned a section, and you can't take the bracelet off once it is put on. (and duplicating a bracelet with that shit printed on it would be next to impossible for your average student.)

There were 4 gates. 10 is divided into 10, 10A and 10B. Then we were using 11. And unless the gates were on different sides of the stadium, 1 main line is the best. I helped athletics at gate 12 last year and several of the games people were backed around to where the ones at gate 10A were. From the 6-7 games that I was at the gate for, the main problem was 15-20minutes before kickoff. Everyone thought they should be able to wait until the last minute and then think they would get in before kickoff. It just isn't happening. [Edited on September 30, 2006 at 1:32 AM. Reason : ]
