Heh, don't worry, the yellow uni's are gone. It was John Thompson's bright idea to dress the team up like a bunch of highliters, but apparently even those intimidating jerseys couldn't make the team remotely competitive. Thank god he got thrown out along with those uniforms. The away jerseys this year aren't real special, they're one of the standard Nike templates, but I think anything is better than the pieces of shit the Pirates wore in Charlotte.
10/18/2006 10:28:16 PM
They looked like a CIAA team in Charlotte
10/19/2006 12:46:20 PM
10/19/2006 1:27:52 PM
and we have a better program than fsu come on, we all know neither of those are true.
10/19/2006 1:42:58 PM
ECU is better this year than in the recent past, but we should still win.SCREW ECU!!!
10/19/2006 4:22:06 PM
^^but his arguement was about USM blowing us out . . . we didn't blow out FSU . . . but Arkansas whooped Auburn pretty good
10/19/2006 10:23:24 PM
yeah i understand the arguement, but what i'm saying is that it's basically wrong. we lost to southern miss... badly. maybe southern miss has a better team this year (which they still probably don't), but they certainly do not have a better program than we do. and that's not me being an ignorant state fan, that's fact.
10/19/2006 10:41:02 PM
how is that a fact? Southern miss is consistently good. They're a football school. State has just recently become a school that is known for something other than being a basketball school. State has a good program, but Southern Miss has had a good program for years. They also have one of the most underrated coaches in the nation.
10/20/2006 9:15:57 AM
they're still in that shit conference....they're a good team this year.....they have been a good team, but they're nothing more than a good team in a shit conference
10/20/2006 9:20:57 AM
^be that as it may, they're a consistently good program. That's the point. Actually, more can be said about the fact that they're in a lesser conference and are STILL consistently good.
10/20/2006 9:29:58 AM
^^so was akron
10/20/2006 9:32:44 AM
^yeahand^^stfu and stop trying make ECU look better than they really are
10/20/2006 9:49:42 AM
I don't remember mentioning ecu, and even admitted C-USA was a lesser conference, but I guess you need some kind of gay retort to fall back on when you look like an idiot. nice try though
10/20/2006 10:15:37 AM
^ ...?i think he means in your whole general aura of this thread. and really, don't tell other people they look like an idiot, have you read this thread?
10/20/2006 10:19:47 AM
yeah, I have. what's your point? the dude didn't have a retort so he fell back on the "ecu sucks" argument. I was saying that southern miss is a good program and he said "ecu sucks" hence, he's an idiot.great ecu sucks. doesn't change the fact that you got beat by these teams in a "shitty" conference as you call it.I'm actually giving you semi-props by saying you got beat by a decent team[Edited on October 20, 2006 at 10:25 AM. 10/20/2006 10:23:24 AM
The question we should be asking is, what does it take mentally for our team to lose. As in, they come into it thinking they are gonna wip ass and they fall on their ass
10/20/2006 10:25:41 AM
all of you responding to mrlebowski are wasting your timethere is no State/ECU rivalry in football. State is going to destroy ECU even worse than when they did it two years ago. it was probably the saddest game I have ever attended. State was complete and utter garbage that year and it still over from the very first snapEast Carolina has no chance. period. [/thread]
10/20/2006 8:44:45 PM
I think the game will be fun, the atmosphere will be fun, etc. I have a lot of friends coming from ECU for this game. I pray it isn't a noon game.
10/20/2006 11:36:51 PM
^^ Actually, the game was tied 7-7 after the first quarter. State didn't exactly come out and kill ECU from the start. At the half it was 17-7. The 3rd quarter is where it got blown open when NCSU scored 21 unanswered. Not that ECU would have won anyways, but when James Pinkney got injured, ECU had no shot at doing anything the rest of the game. Desmond Robinson couldn't throw the ball more than 15 yards and he was incredibly innaccurate, I think he was 7/23. Pinkney's injury probably kept it from being 45-21 or something, it almost certainly wouldn't have prevented State from winning, but the score probably would have been slightly more respectable. ECU was clearly overmatched in that game, but the game didn't seem to be "over from the very first snap". And lol at you saying this year is going to be worse than the game in Charlotte in terms of a blowout. [Edited on October 21, 2006 at 8:44 AM. Reason : .]

I'm genuinly scared of this matchup.
10/21/2006 6:52:54 PM
i'd be genuinely scared of a matchup against my middle school team.

The Pirates are coming, the Pirates are coming!!!!!!!!!
10/21/2006 7:04:10 PM
seriously.. just Fire Chuck
10/21/2006 7:04:41 PM
I'm genuinely scared of the ignorance of some people (who may just happen to be ECU fans) in this thread.
10/22/2006 12:04:19 AM
Dude why do yall talk so much junk and take up pages of worthlessness? ECU isn't that bad this year...we aren't either. I think it will be about the same score and type of game as the APP STATE game....but with more ECU fans in the stands. Like I said before I hope it is a later afternoon/night game. I want to have some fun, watch us win, and party on down!
10/22/2006 7:07:15 PM
Party? It's hard to have fun with a bunch of stupid rednecks throwing glass bottles and rocks at you and starting fights the whole time. I've seen it at ECU a few times, they're pure white trash.
10/22/2006 7:35:29 PM
^well there stadium is only like 75% full at bestFIRE CHUCK
10/22/2006 9:27:39 PM
^ 85% actually, but attendance has definately been weaker than it should be. Lots of people don't understand the importance of conference games and come see a game vs. a very weak Virginia team and don't come when defending conference champion Tulsa comes to town. I think that having 5 straight home games over the course of 6 weeks has had a little bit of an effect on attendance, but there is still no reason for the attendance to be so low. I think that the last few years of losing has really affected the attendance numbers and the team is going to have to start winning to fill up the stadium. Next year the attendance numbers will be better because both State and UNC go to Greenville, but conference games probably won't be attended as well as they should be unless the team starts off strong.
10/22/2006 10:10:17 PM
I don't remember ever arguing about there being a big rivalry. I just said it's going to be a fun game that people are looking forward to. I never said ecu was better or that they were going to win. Get off my jock
10/23/2006 9:22:43 AM
I'm calling ECU is 6-5 coming to Raleigh, there only hard game left is Southern Miss. and that is gonna be an L for them.Fire Chuck
