I just watched X-Men 2. It's quite a bit better than both 1 & 3, of course. It sucks that they changed the phoenix imagery in the last one. In 2, phoenix was fiery, as she should be.

i'm just glad Cyclops got killed off early. the way that dude overacts the character has always made me want to vomit.[Edited on May 28, 2006 at 7:08 PM. Reason : mutant power: spellcheck.]

Question to peeps who have read the comics. How accurate are the Iceman/Rogue ---> Iceman/Kitty relationships?
5/28/2006 7:59:30 PM
gambit and rogue were dating in the comics, right?
5/28/2006 9:07:39 PM
I think it's quite clear that the movies are in a parallel universe so as to make the movies more believable instead of all that scientific stuff and way-too-larger than life characters.
5/28/2006 10:07:10 PM
Allright, so I've got a question. So the Prof transferred his mind into the comatose person. But the prof shouldn't have powers anymore, should he? Since the x-powers are genetic mutations? Unless the coma guy has latent mutant abilities, but they'd still unlikely be what the professor had....
5/28/2006 11:02:47 PM
his powers came from his mind, right? So technically, if he transferred his mind, he transferred the most important part. maybe that's the answer...i have no clue
5/28/2006 11:11:20 PM
The answer is, yeah, his powers come from a genetic mutation, but it's just fucking magic, so whatever.
5/28/2006 11:17:27 PM
you notice there were alot of scenes in the trailer that weren't in the movie?

5/29/2006 12:45:45 AM
Was that the "cure" kid who ran up and hugged storm at the school near the end? If so, how the fuck can he hang out at the school? won't it be impossible to teach kids to use their powers if he's disabling them all the time?

Mystique looks like she has some sort of triforce symbol on her chest! I love her character. Hopefully Mystique will always be in the movies. She's too badass.

Am I insane? Psylocke and Omega Red were both listed in the credits, but I'll be damned if I have any recollection of them in the movie.
5/29/2006 2:51:59 PM
^Yeah I saw Psylocke in the credits. The only character I could think would be that girl that had purple hair, I don't think it showed her use any powers though. I don't recall anyone resembling Omega Red though.
5/29/2006 3:25:40 PM
As I watched the credits, I saw one listing for "Omega Mutant" but not Omega Red. I think this might have been referring to one of the characters with an omega tattoo at the community meeting in the church. Not entirely sure, though. I know I didn't see anything resembling Omega Red anywhere in the whole movie, but I was also really surprised to see Psylocke listed in the credits.

5/29/2006 3:32:54 PM
the guy with the stabby tentacles coming out of his arms that he shot at wolverine was omega red... & purple hair was pyslocke. i at first thought that the fast moving chick might be her… but I think she was calisto (the one with the lip ring) who was sort of the leader of the rag tag mutants before magneto came along. The group of mutants in the run down place early own I think was supposed to be morlockish. Storm did her part by killing the leader of the morlocks calisto by killing her with electricity while slammed against that fencing. Storm also became a leader of mutants… but rather than the morlocks she took over xaviers school.i liked what they did... several allegories and references... but its a new story line that fits with a movie format.

the bone shooting guy was pretty fucking useless. just get a gun.haha I did like the guy that grabbed a baseball bat to fight wolverine tho.
5/29/2006 4:35:37 PM
They had that male marrow character in the newer cartoon as well, which is who I thought they were trying to do. Because you know there's not enough characters in the comic books, we need to make up new ones for the cartoon.
5/29/2006 5:16:18 PM
Since when did psyloc have the power to become invisible? I thought she just had the psyonic blades or what-not? And the porcupine kid was omega red? Weak.

HOW THE HELL DID ANGEL FLY FROM NY TO SAN FRANCSICO THAT FAST??
5/29/2006 5:31:52 PM

ok i'm at about 15 minutes left right nowheres what i've noticedthe angel dude wasnt in as much of the plot as i thoughtthe movie seems short(only about 95 minutes)the phoenix thing was like way less than i thought it was gonna be, and they really didnt explain much more than "her telekinetic energy formed a protective cocoon around her"(which was pretty weak)juggernaut didnt do as much shit as i thoughtwolverine still thinks he can fuck up magneto even though the dude is made of metal(but the whole tricking him at the end thing was pretty good)apparently magneto can lift objects weighing into the hundreds of tons because i'm pretty sure the golden gate bridge is heavy as fuckthe cyclops thing was pretty cool until it ended like a minute laterthe professor x/jean grey duel was pretty awesomethe casting for beast was good i thinki wish storm would just fuck people up with lightning boltsrouges role in the movie suckswhy the ice dude didnt freeze the fire dude and shatter him into a million pieces "t-2" style i will never knowthe whole "jean i know you can hear me, come out" shit was pretty old like REALLY quickwatching as i type...the rouge thing at the very end is so gay as well..."i know, its what i wanted" - let me just kill myself nowthe first half is way better than the second half in my opinion...the second movie is way better than the third in my opinioni'd still fuck the hell out of rebecca romain stamos(sp?)[Edited on May 29, 2006 at 6:04 PM. They tried to throw in too many mutants from the comic books without developing any of them (besides Beast, they did an miniscule effort).[Edited on May 29, 2006 at 6:04 PM. Reason : a]
5/29/2006 6:03:29 PM
I thought the movie was great, not as good as X2, but awesome nonetheless. Some parts were way melodramatic and it was over a little too quickly, but it had great special effects and decent acting and character development.I'm sure someone's already mentioned this, but the part where Angel breaks free is like the gayest 30 seconds of cinema ever.
