That's because CharlieEFH is Jay Davis
11/4/2005 3:07:15 PM
I believe Jay moved the ball all the way down and scored on VT on the first drive of the seaon.. Just to prove you wrong that he has moved the ball at least once.
11/4/2005 3:11:00 PM
Oh stone is no better than davis.but stone is here for another 2.5 years, jay is not. may as well get to work on him in the hopes of improvement.
11/4/2005 3:12:22 PM
someone piss charlieefh off enough to quit so i can make a flow chart

Stone trucked him.
11/5/2005 6:12:13 PM
every game stone has played 10x better in the second half
11/5/2005 6:19:01 PM
Stone gets shit done. {/THREAD]
11/5/2005 6:21:06 PM
11/5/2005 7:20:26 PM
yeah he did, now he's just gotta come into a game with confidence and play the whole first half and not just the second.

11/5/2005 7:21:46 PM
Can't wait to see how CharlieEFH explains how Jay Davis would have done a better job in the FS game.I guess the FS QB did get more INTs than we did. Lost that battle.
11/5/2005 7:24:41 PM
^^ hey i'll take him not messing up over him attempting too much and not doing a good job at it.

I was really impressed with stone's toughness today. WHen he ran over that LB..i thought...we are going to be ok. I still don't think he throws the ball very well. But he played his heart out.
11/5/2005 7:37:13 PM
you may like Jay Davis more, but he won't be here next year unlike Stone. I just hope Stone can improve as he gets more experience.
11/5/2005 7:38:15 PM
something distinct is missing from this threadhmmmmmmmmits CharlieEFHsuspect he will have a more limited role in this thread now
11/5/2005 7:38:20 PM
Marcus doesn't bring anything to the table that Jay Davis couldn't quarterback-wise. I like his arm better (zipping the ball in there instead of lofting it like Jay does).. and he's got a future. The reason we are better with Stone and should continue to play Stone is that the team gave up on Jay Davis. Marcus Stone brings a new glimmer of hope and a new attitude to this team... the will to win. It's not pretty, but he's 2-0.... the team believes in him and he lifts them. They didn't believe in Jay.I don't think Stone is better than Jay. I don't think Jay is much better than Stone. I think the team plays better and harder with Stone and rolls over and dies with Jay. Plain and simple...play Stone[Edited on November 5, 2005 at 7:41 PM. Reason : sdfsd]

I like stone better, but let's face it, Stone is 2-0 in games where Andre Brown has run for what, 400+ yards and 3 TDs?Who knows what Jay would do with that kind of run production? I know that FSU had to adjust it's blitz package since Brown cut through them a couple of times for big yardages....
11/5/2005 7:49:12 PM
good point jdmanwell, put it this way... don't fuck up what's working
11/5/2005 7:50:17 PM
^^ Yeah but everyone will bash you like they did me in the other thread.
11/5/2005 7:51:04 PM
I agree Stone sucks, but davis would have thrown 4 INT's and 2 of those would have been FSU TD's.I don't care how many yards Brown has ran for, it isn't like the game would have been a carbon copy if Davis would have been the QB
11/5/2005 8:19:01 PM
we can run liek that because stone is a threat to open the field up, he might not complete all of his passes, but the other team cant stack the box so much with stone
11/5/2005 8:21:06 PM
jay davis had good run support in other games and blew threw them awaypersonally i'm glad to see stone get the PT, this will prepare him well for '06 and beyond
11/5/2005 8:23:05 PM
I was happy with stone's performance in the end. he didnt make any critical errors(that I can remember), which is one of the keys to the game. plenty of teams are really good and have a mediocre quarterback, but they still win because the QB can manage the game and not fuck up, which stone did a good job of tonight.
11/5/2005 8:23:16 PM
LOLhe didnt make errors because he didnt throw that much. However,He looks like a REAL QBso thats good.
11/5/2005 8:32:39 PM
The reason we're better with Stone is because we become a running team with Stone. With Jay, it was a pass-happy offense. With Stone, it's been mostly running and giving the ball off to our talented RBs, in this case, Andre Brown who so happens to have tremendous speed and power and instincts. We've now become the NCAA equivalent of the Steelers. We have a QB who isn't asked to do much and limit his mistakes and make a few plays here and there. We have a bruising running game and much better linemen schemes to break big runs. We have a defense who is finally playing inspired football and creating turnovers and sacks. And it all came about at exactly the same time. If Chuck planned it this way, he's a genius but I think it's all pretty much coincidence and good timing for all of us.

Stone also made a good strong throw to Clark in the end zone.... too bad Clark dropped it.
11/5/2005 8:41:51 PM
Yeah... I seriously believe our WR's are surprised when a ball hits them in the hands. They're not used to that shit anymore
11/5/2005 8:45:22 PM
Stone is not the greatest thing ever----BUT he is a much better choice for the Pack than Davis. I've said it since last year. this is so true:

Thats what I said after the wake game.Thats what I said after the USM game. Thats what I said after the FSU game. Nobody listened. Its an Andre Brown/Marcus Stone combo...of course Brown deserves most of the credit.
11/6/2005 12:30:22 AM
i said after the wake game that Stone was able to pass b/c Wake was weary of him running
