yeah saying that Washington, DC was not part of the United STATEs by definition since its a district and not a state...she was getting a little peeved early on

Granted Colbert deliberately provoked her with the whole "not voting thing," but damn she was a real bitch... if you're in politics you should know who Colbert is so you don't embarrass yourself like that...

Colbert being added to the World's most 100 Influential People gains more justification http://spring.newsvine.com/_news/2006/08/01/307864-stephen-colbert-causes-chaos-on-wikipedia-gets-blocked-from-site

Colbert was just making a point about wikipedia. He could probably care less if he's banned from it, and will probably just make a couple jokes about it.I love wikipedia, but I know in the past that the staffs of politicians have "adjusted" their boss' wikipedia article to reflect changing priorities. For example, a representative once said he wanted to abide by a self-imposed term limits pledge and that was on his article in wikipedia. When he made the decision to run for office again despite his previous term limits pledge, a staff member of his removed the pledge. Wikipedia was able to tell based on the IP address. It got so bad with government sources that wikipedia made it so that Washington, D.C. government IP addresses cannot automatically change an article, the change is reviewed and then it can apply if unbiased.[Edited on August 2, 2006 at 3:13 PM. From the Daily Show, but with Colbert and Stewart joking on a Geraldo comment on the O'Reilly Factor.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWqneVIA3zsThis quote should be made canon for most TV personalities:

havn't seen it on my DVR yet.... what happenedbtw - here's a pretty decent discussion on, of all places, Scarborough Country, on how influential Jon Stewart and, to a lesser extent, Colbert are in politics right nowhttp://onegoodmove.org/1gm/1gmarchive/2006/10/jon_stewart_mos.html

aaaaahahahaha - those kisses with Jane Fonda were great. Then the ice-cream 3-way with Gloria Steinem. good stuffalthough the R.A.P.S. session fell flat... it worked better the first time he did it with the youth when he actually "rapped".... kinda

1/18/2007 10:30:24 PM
colbert is hilarious.how did o'reilly keep a straight face????
1/18/2007 10:53:17 PM
ahahaha, you can hear people in the studio laughing pretty hard.
1/18/2007 10:54:26 PM
yeah, it was weird with no studio audience. but much to his credit, O'Reilly was a good sport about it, for the most part (of course, he had to throw in his cheap shots after Colbert was gone). I didn't know if Colbert was going to do it in character, but i guess it actually would have been much more contentious if he did it straight.
1/18/2007 11:01:20 PM
what did billyboy say after colbert left?colbert couldnt have gone on there as himself. did you see how bill reacted to the guy whose dad died in the world trade center and who was against the iraq war?
1/18/2007 11:05:03 PM
O'reily got booed.

^ Yeah... but the interview was a HUGE disappointment.
1/18/2007 11:55:00 PM
What did you expect from the interview?O'Reilly knows what the show's about, he's not going to be too cooperative. That O'reilly and Colbert link is dead btw.[Edited on January 19, 2007 at 1:29 AM. Reason : ]

i saw colbert on oreilly, but not oreilly on colbert (past my bedtime).i thought it was pretty good....i thought it was interesting that oreilly did research to try to dig up dirt on colbert, and colbert was just a sarcastic jackass the whole time.
