12/7/2005 10:57:00 AM

12/7/2005 12:26:29 PM

12/7/2005 12:29:58 PM

^^ maybe. several years ago i became extremely cynical and annoyed at Friends though. Yes, I did watch it in High School, but at some point in college it really just started to get on my nerves. Then the more I watched it the more I couldn't stand it. I still like some of the reruns, but for the most part, I find the characters unlikable and the jokes predictable and un-funny.but anyway, back to the subject - i just watched this weeks Office and it was excellent. The bit at the end where shit-faced Meridith walks into Michael's office and takes off her shirt, obviously looking for some naughty on-the-desk sex with the boss, then Michael gives a surprised look, whips out the camera for a picture then walks out to go to the bar, that was golden. Carrell couldn't have played that one any better for his character. But speaking of Michael, i'm finding he's playing off the camera just a bit too much. I dunno, maybe it's part of his character because he's so egotistical and concerned with his image, but it seems like almost everything he says now he has to give some kind of notice of the camera.
12/8/2005 4:39:22 AM
^ yeah I think thats right, because bosses want things to appear great when their place of work is on display in front of important people
12/8/2005 8:41:15 AM
I like how NBC called the office both original and innovative
12/8/2005 9:22:10 AM
Well, it was... when it was done the first time.
12/8/2005 11:39:04 AM
"First of all, that's what she said."I want a boss who gets the sexist joke out of the way before getting to the important things.
12/9/2005 4:40:00 PM
"What are we going to do with this hacked off part?""Well, that makes a perfect mini tree Kevin, and we are going to sell it to charity, because thats what Christmas is all about."

12/15/2005 12:16:17 PM

12/15/2005 12:26:09 PM

tonight?
1/5/2006 2:24:42 PM
Yep, 9:30. NBC's trying to make another Thursday Night Must See TV. I don't know about that.
1/5/2006 2:27:17 PM
I consider The Office must see, same with Scrubs
1/5/2006 2:29:03 PM
I like Scrubs and The Office but NBC isn't going for broke with Thursday nights b/c they are keeping Scrubs on Tuesday and using Will & Grace (which should have died about 5 seasons ago) and some new show called Three Kings to fill the first hour. I do like how The Office has really picked up steam in the last couple of months.
1/5/2006 2:33:34 PM
its kinda sad to see that "The Office" can't just stay in the officei mean, we don't take booze cruises in my officei hope it just doesn't get so detached from what makes life in an office funny...
1/5/2006 2:38:34 PM
It's funny as hell when they go out of the office, but it could quickly turn into a problem since they are in the "documentary" single-camera style, where they are basically forced to acknowledge the presence of the camera and have some kind of explaination for why it's there. It was already a stretch when the camera followed Michael and Dwight for the house-signing, then it came to Jim's party, and it even showed up, apparently hiding in the bushes of Michaels' apartment, on Halloween night. The trip to the do-jo was ok because that resulted directly from something that started in the office.Whatever they've done, though, it's still been funny as hell.

FWIW, while I don't watch Ellen I will watch it in about 5 minutes on NBC as Carell will be on her show today.[Edited on January 5, 2006 at 3:59 PM. Reason : .]

^rockwasn't he on SNL not too long ago?
1/5/2006 4:08:35 PM
"BFD"
1/5/2006 10:14:08 PM
not the funniest tonight, I guess they had to make room for all the shippy stuff
1/5/2006 10:54:33 PM
"Do you want me to crash this boat, woman???"
1/5/2006 10:55:46 PM
The beginning with the vending machine was awesome.
1/5/2006 11:04:44 PM
This was by far the worst episode I have seen of The Office. I just watched all of season one last night and it was hilarious.
1/5/2006 11:57:02 PM
i'd rather watch will and grace
1/6/2006 12:38:34 AM
yeah.... if you wanted to get someone hooked on the office, hopefully tonight wasn't the first one they watched. It was funny, and I actually dig all the relationship business between pam/jim/roy, but it had just a tiny fraction of the laugh out loud moments of any other episodes.
1/6/2006 12:40:28 AM
they use facial expressions masterfully
1/6/2006 12:56:45 AM
K1and why the FUCK don't pam and jim just do something. roy is an asshole.

Jim on top of the boat talking with Michael nearly broke my heart ]
1/6/2006 4:15:23 AM
yeah, that was another perfect performance by Carrell. "you an pam? what? I didn't see that one..... I usually have a good radar for those kinds of things" - excellent
1/6/2006 8:24:39 AM
this one kinda sucked....i liked the intro though.
