I'm gonna try to get my dad's cosin's motorcycle now. He owns a 94 550 yamaha virago and looks badass. He might just give it to me if I do some contracting work around his house for the summer. So I'll have to look into that.

I looked at it last week. Looks sick. Has a huge turbo on it and the guy took out the speedometer and replaced it with a boost gauge. Haha. But looks nice and is damn low to the ground.

The bike has not be run in about 8years. It has NEVER been laid down and has been sitting in the garage covered up since the accident. The bike is in very good condition. I have a Suzuki gs500 for sale. It's nearly mint, previously owned by a Suzuki racer. Verywell maintained, and doesn't need a thing, also has current NC inspection, and a clear title. I believe I'm the 3rd owner. It's a 1996 model with less than 9000 miles on it. I would take $2200 obofor it. Makes perhaps the best beginner bike, but is a very fun bike for more experienced riders as well. Here's a picture:It's the bike on the left. Anybody interested?Ahmet
3/19/2005 4:02:19 AM
I should add, the GS500 has new tires and I would deliver to Chapel Hill/Durham/Greenville obviously Raleigh, etc.Ahmet
3/19/2005 4:12:57 AM
if you're looking for a great first bikeholler at Ahmetspeaking of, i'm gonna go play with my gs500
3/19/2005 1:30:56 PM
sonuvagunAhmet, do you finance?
3/19/2005 2:04:20 PM
seriously, riding a motorcycle may be one of the most fun things EVER
3/19/2005 5:23:45 PM
3/19/2005 7:10:37 PM
Is that you/your bike woodfoot? Nice color combo.fleetwud, if you wanna give me $1500 or so cash, and are OK with signing a few papers showing that you still owe me whatever on the bike, then absolutely I will "finance" as I need to be moving both my car and my bike fairly soon (replacing both with other "things").Get in touch w/me if you're serious ahmete@gmail.comAhmet
3/19/2005 8:46:18 PM
yeah, thats mineis obviously not street legal(*koff*headlight*koff*), so today was just some parking lot fun for nowfleetwud, you should take him up on that deal...
3/19/2005 11:42:45 PM
How much is your insurance on that thing man?
3/20/2005 11:14:05 AM
$5xx/year for full coverage, or about 1/5th of what I was quoted for the GSXR. I have a terrible driving record, so unless you're some enraged monkey, yours should be better...Ahmet
3/20/2005 11:15:34 AM
thats what it says bout mine for full coverage, then again, i havent hit the 3 yr mark yet.btw, could I see that bike up in person? [Edited on March 20, 2005 at 7:10 PM. Reason : ]
3/20/2005 7:09:24 PM
my record is clean, i hope my shit isn't up that highdo you have to get "full coverage" or can you just get collision?i've got good healf insurance through work, and good life insurance too
3/21/2005 12:59:57 AM
It isn't nearly as expensive if you only get liability insurance...My insurance agent told me that you can't hurt much other than yourself and your bike when I asked why collision would be so high.
3/21/2005 1:23:34 AM
I'd just go for liability if it was a used bike, otherwise a new bike, might as well get that 250 dollar deductable coverage. I also have a clean record, but 500 bucks a yr is still cheaper than car insurance for full coverage. When I finally get a bike, I'm gonna put it under my dad's insurance so that the rate would be like 90 bucks per 6 months or so.
3/21/2005 8:48:04 AM
This shit is tempting as hell, especially considering I am about to get a sub 20mpg vehicle and I have a 20 mile commute to work daily.
3/21/2005 8:53:00 AM
wow, 4 bucks a day of gas your wasting
3/21/2005 9:01:16 AM
Thats exactly what I am saying.Bike guys, through the summer how many days on average do you think your can use your bike in lieu of your car? I mean I am not looking at this from a purely financial standpoint but if I can rationalize the insurance cost (and somewhat the cost of the bike) to near break even on gas savings then I will be much more motivated to do this soon rather than wait it out one more year to get a bike over the winter when they will be cheaper.
3/21/2005 11:12:43 AM
i rode mine last year from ~april-october about 3 weeks out of each month. i got caught in a few typical north carolina afternoon storms in the summer, but they do make rain suits if you care. btw, if you get a loan or are financing a bike you are required to carry full insurance coverage. hint: get a personal loan from your bank, don't say it's for a bike.
3/21/2005 11:43:06 AM
My point exactly, My parents are bitches, well more my mom is. I mean she can't see the good reason of having one besides "ITS A DEATH TRAP" I'm like... no... its not a fucking pinto.
3/21/2005 11:44:14 AM
^ my parents see it the same way, that's why im going to get one and hide it behind their backs, i mean my money im living in an apartment next year fuck that shit ill do what i want besides i pay for the college and other shit everything so they cant really tell me what to do anymore
3/21/2005 12:15:05 PM
3/21/2005 12:19:00 PM
haha wow. yeah my plan is to get my dad to put it under our insurance and let my mom bitch at my dad. Cause he doesnt care too much bout it. But my mom is just such a hassle. And just gonna be a naggfest when I get it.
3/21/2005 12:27:54 PM
My motorcycle has been sold. I'm now looking for one with 65-75hp or so, and no more than 450lbs weight. Anything around or under $1500 would work, would appreciate any leads.Anyway, motorcycles are toys, and dangerous ones at that. Using one as transportation is dangerous, and I don't think owning a motorcycle can be justified in any way other than "a toy" or "for fun".Ahmet
3/21/2005 2:10:32 PM
shhh, dont tell my parents
3/21/2005 10:40:29 PM
^ fo 20 dolla i wont
3/21/2005 11:18:42 PM
^ quiet, I'll tell everyone you drive this [Edited on March 21, 2005 at 11:27 PM. Reason : ]
3/21/2005 11:27:18 PM
that was quick, ahmet ill be on a lookoutwoodfoot, i can hook you up with lights cheapjbaz, you shouldnt have to pay more than $50 on that ecery 6 month for liability with a clean record, and its not worth getting coverage on
3/22/2005 6:18:36 PM
