had some lucky beats tongiht, but i won a shitload and i'll take em anyway i get them...here's what i'm up this week...
9/21/2004 1:59:24 AM
yeah, but don't forget ur anal beads there bud
9/21/2004 2:22:08 AM
Damn, Jake, nice. You ever run any dealer calls games still? Kinda like playing some of the weird ones now and then. Not anaconda, though, at least when I'm not paying attention.
9/21/2004 3:04:06 AM
No no, you all are mistaken. The 2 $1 bills represent Jake's winnings for the night (that is a big night for Jake). The other bills that are spread out represent the money that Jake got at the ATM on his way home and that he plans on loosing tomorrow.
9/21/2004 5:44:14 AM
lol, just had a great week this week...the other night, i bought in for $60...went all in first hand, doubled up...then i went all in th enext 3 hands against 3 different stacks all of them w/ more than $100...and i won all of them...i was up $300 in less than 20 min. last night, i just got some good/lucky cards that broke some very big stacks. i called a $15 bet with J4 against kings i believe, but the flop was J42...don't remember turn and river, but i took my opponent to the cleaners...was oh so nice
9/21/2004 10:07:45 AM
so you got lucky as shit...
9/21/2004 10:11:51 AM
calling a $15 with j4 before the flop? man i want your luck or your ability to know that you're going to pair both of em it's always nice to bust someone when they have a higher pocker pair though... was this a game in raleigh or something? i wouldn't mind getting in some cash NL games... i really should make it out to turners.... i know i've been saying this for months now...[Edited on September 21, 2004 at 10:14 AM. 9/21/2004 10:13:22 AM
yeah, this game is $1/2 blinds and is every monday night...otherwise, they are pretty much at turner's every night...i am a very loose player and when i'm up, it allows me to call pre-fop raises...but at this game w/ $2 being the big blind, raises are often to 7/12 preflop...i like to see flops
9/21/2004 10:16:37 AM

you guys set time limits or anything or is just people coming and going as they please?
9/21/2004 11:44:15 AM
People just come and go, but sometimes the table fills up and you have to wait.
9/21/2004 11:48:40 AM
No time limits......cash games usually start around 9pm and end around 4-5am or so.....come and go as you please
9/21/2004 11:48:52 AM
careful, david likes boys.
9/21/2004 12:18:08 PM
The monday night cash game is a solid $1/2 NL game at Collin's (basically our same group, just a different location), with a casino table, and all... I had a decent night last night, about $500 profit... but some people got lucky as shit and won a lot more than they deserved (J4, $15 anyone? ) Another guy who is easily one of the worst players around won over $1,000. Oh and "tonight," we played 'til 8am.Most other nights we play a $30 tourney at my place around 9pm, followed by a cash game ($.5/1 NL)... the buy in here is 20/100.There may be a game tonight... not sure yet - I'm going to Atlantic City tomorrow to play in the US Poker Championships events on Friday and Saturday, so there won't be games for the next few days. But if you're interested in our regular games, just get in touch.[Edited on September 21, 2004 at 1:09 PM. Reason : .]

I had no reason to bet the flop, I was going to lose my stack to quads if they were out there, and no one was going to outdraw me except a running straight flush. Then I thought I got fucked over on the turn. I didn't even bother raising him with the nuts because I was so sure we were gonna split. I almost just checked at the end to save use some rake, then I went all in for the hell of it. I have no earthly idea why he called. Maybe he thought I had a pocket pair below jacks, or maybe he just didn't understand the circumstances. Probably the latter, people with a firm grasp on the game don't generally call $4 preflop with J7 suited.Too bad I was so short stacked, I got caught on a big ass bluff a couiple hands earlier.

Turner won a $1100 pot in Atlantic City last night with NINE-HIGH, after making a fucking fantastic read on a guy who was on a straight draw.Daaaaaaamn, son.

Well I played in my first tourney since I moved to Charleston last night. 17 people in, I finished second. I must say our tournies are run way way smoother. Here are some examples:-They provided food, but took $40 from the main pot. I'm sure it came out even, but I would much prefer to just pay a little extra and have the pot go towards the winnings.-Nobody drew for seat, we rolled a die for table and sat down where ever we wanted at that table.-The blinds progressed at a tremendous pace, way faster than even Party Poker.-The dealing went crazy, I'm still not sure how it went. Rather than shuffling behind like we do it, they had the big blind shuffle, then pass to the small blind, who cut, and then dealt (because it was his turn).-They had no conception of what to do if someone got knocked out and it was there big blind.... ie one guy posting only a big blind.-No table balancing at all. It was just start with x number of players at each table, and play til only 4 people remained at the table, then combine.-The players were really really bad. I mean like much worse than Collin or Justin. They would call all-in's with J/4 off routinely preflop. It was like playing on Party Poker, except the people were real.I did have fun tho. I just miss playing in our tournies, cause they are organized so well.
