11/12/2015 9:54:41 AM
Dennis Smith signed his LOI
11/12/2015 9:56:34 AM
Dennis Smith Jr. provided his John Hancock
11/12/2015 10:01:59 AM
Come on down BAM BAM
11/12/2015 10:38:59 AM
DSJ gave us his autograph
11/12/2015 10:50:54 AM
would love to hear from Bam soon. Maybe today, maybe at the game tomorrow night?
11/12/2015 10:51:52 AM
11/12/2015 3:49:38 PM
If Bam does come here, he'll immediately be on my shortlist of favorite NCSU athletes based solely on his name
11/12/2015 3:51:01 PM
If we get Bam, I'm pretty sure we'll get Rawle. And then at that point it would be too good for Udoka to pass up.
11/12/2015 3:57:44 PM
Smith plans to enroll in JanuaryACL injury will still be an issue but I'd think he be able to play for this year's team
11/12/2015 8:39:45 PM
Does the team even have room for him?
11/12/2015 9:24:23 PM
^^What? That ain't happening.
11/12/2015 10:24:51 PM
He's not playing for this class. He can practice with the team depending on his grades, etc. but he can't play this Spring unless he reclassifies but I don't think he can at this point.
11/12/2015 11:22:31 PM
I believe the whole point of him coming in early is to get 24/7 focus on that ACL and rebuild his muscle
11/13/2015 7:14:47 AM
Smith Jr. can't play this year, but he will be able to work with the school and our staff on his rehab, which is great for him.
11/13/2015 7:14:59 AM
Plus think of all the tail he can slayNot to mention all the chances he will have now to:Randomly walk into the wrong persons dorm roomHit someone on a mopedGet caught smoking weedPlace the school on draconian sanctions
11/13/2015 8:15:35 AM
11/13/2015 10:30:22 AM
As much as i would love to have BAM BAM, i really hope Udoka commits here.
11/13/2015 10:42:49 AM
thanks for Grant Williams bitches! Smart kid, high character, wouldn't fit in with the Tobacco Road scene
11/13/2015 10:45:07 AM
Who?
11/13/2015 10:52:50 AM
^ he had an offer from powerhouse ACC basketball school clemson
11/13/2015 10:54:03 AM
Charlotte Observer player of the year son! ^ and Yale and Princeton. I see why he went to UT. Similar academics.[Edited on November 13, 2015 at 10:55 AM. Reason : s]
11/13/2015 10:54:56 AM
Well academics are nice, from his offer list he doesn't even look good enough to play in europe
11/13/2015 10:59:49 AM
lol Rick Barnes
11/13/2015 11:00:45 AM
^ yeah, he's like a Gottfried that has actually accomplished something^^ Charlotte area bball suck that much that hes the best player?
11/13/2015 11:11:59 AM
11/13/2015 11:17:40 AM
11/13/2015 11:29:32 AM
What exactly has Rick Barnes accomplished?
11/13/2015 11:30:55 AM
final four
11/13/2015 11:31:34 AM
Barnes has been one of the most underachieving coaches in recent college basketball history. What he has failed to achieve with the talent he's had at Texas is laughable. And he's only gotten worse in recent years. Have fun with that Tennessee! But maybe with garbage recruits like this Williams kid...it will have the reverse effect and he'll start succeeding with lesser talent!
11/13/2015 11:34:39 AM
yeah, but I don't really need to. Those two plus LA maybee get the point across.
11/13/2015 11:41:36 AM
^^ Oh I agree he has underachieved, but that is not mutually exclusive of him having accomplished more than Gottfried. Higher winning percentageMore winsFinal Fourmore Elite 8 appearancesmore Sweet Sixteen appearances#1 Rankingmore major conference titlesyou are fighting a losing battle arguing this my man... no matter what you think about the future potential the past numbers arent even close.[Edited on November 13, 2015 at 11:42 AM. Reason : s]
11/13/2015 11:42:04 AM
dude he has had multiple NBA all stars on his roster and spent the last five seasons at Texas doing absolutely nothing. He even at one point remarked that his job was to get kids to the NBA, and so by that metric he was succeeding.
11/13/2015 11:49:15 AM
That doesnt change any of the above...if fact, their careers have a lot of parallels. Both spent over a decade at MAJOR (as is Top 5) football schools where bball comes second. Would rather pull in recruits and underachieve than not get them at all. [Edited on November 13, 2015 at 11:53 AM. Reason : d]
11/13/2015 11:50:31 AM
He squanders talent whereas Gott maximizes it. There really is no discussion here to be had.
11/13/2015 11:52:16 AM
"maximized" lol... look at the numbers above.Good old TWW, cant even keep things straight when it comes to arguments. We arent talking about potential, or what MAY happen, we are simply looking at the cold, hard numbers and who has accomplished more in terms of stats. Not potential, not what "could have been", not anything else, just pure numbers up to this point.[Edited on November 13, 2015 at 11:55 AM. Reason : d]
11/13/2015 11:53:48 AM
Plz keep talk about Texas' shitty head coach out of NC State recruiting thread
11/13/2015 11:56:23 AM
you guys really like letting jibbles derail threads
11/13/2015 11:57:51 AM
don't know what you talking about, but me and jb have done quit talking to the jarhead.
11/13/2015 11:59:23 AM
I should hope that Barnes has more elite 8s and sweet sixteens with over a decade more coaching and 400+ more games played. And Gottfried can't say he's played in the illustrious CBI like Rick can
11/13/2015 12:01:22 PM
All JB trolling aside, I'd much rather have Gott than Barnes going forward. The only reason State fans ever wanted him was because he got in Deans face that one time, which is retarded. Guy is a huge underachiever. Barely scraped into that Final Four even in 2003...[Edited on November 13, 2015 at 12:06 PM. Reason : X]
11/13/2015 12:05:50 PM
once again, the discussion wasnt about who you want, or what may happen, or potential, it was simply looking at numbers. ^^ you take out enough years to make them the same number of seasons (like take the best 15 seasons for each) and he's still done more.[Edited on November 13, 2015 at 12:08 PM. 11/13/2015 12:07:38 PM
guess tennessee will be better than ncsu this year and next, and next, and next... aww shucks.
11/13/2015 12:09:38 PM
Rick Barnes is old now. Well past his prime. No offense to Tenn, but they should have gone for a young fresh face big recruiter type. I highly doubt Barnes will move the needle forward for Tennessee University.
11/13/2015 12:11:07 PM
I dont disagree with that. They wanted stability after that Tyndall retard. Basically our TOB.ANYWAYS, thanks for THE top player from the most populous city in State. [Edited on November 13, 2015 at 12:32 PM. Reason : d]
11/13/2015 12:17:20 PM
I know Tennessee has been abysmal at hoops for a decade, but bragging about getting a 2* away from the likes of MD Eastern Shore & SE Louisiana? I had no idea it had gotten that badBest of luck, Jibbles
11/13/2015 12:49:16 PM
this Tennessee conversation is hilarious
11/13/2015 12:51:29 PM
I'll take the top player from a medium sized market... but guess we will see, guess we will see.
11/13/2015 12:52:51 PM
Please don't bite on JBs pathetic attempts. I can't even begin to understand why he still enjoys trolling year after year after year.
