https://www.axios.com/robert-muller-questions-list-trump-russia-54d00d1c-f008-457c-b304-ee601a98d78c.html

Quote :
"Mueller is subpoenaing all communications — meaning emails, texts, handwritten notes, etc. — that this witness sent and received regarding the following people:

Carter Page
Corey Lewandowski
Donald J. Trump
Hope Hicks
Keith Schiller
Michael Cohen
Paul Manafort
Rick Gates
Roger Stone
Steve Bannon

The subpoena asks for all communications from November 1, 2015, to the present. Notably, Trump announced his campaign for president five months earlier — on June 16, 2015."

Any guesses as to whom the witness may be? I’m currently thinking that it had to be Jeff Sessions.

Also, I haven’t read this entire piece, yet.

https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2018/03/12/christopher-steele-the-man-behind-the-trump-dossier

However, here’s an excerpt:

Quote :
"One subject that Steele is believed to have discussed with Mueller’s investigators is a memo that he wrote in late November, 2016, after his contract with Fusion had ended. This memo, which did not surface publicly with the others, is shorter than the rest, and is based on one source, described as ‘a senior Russian official.’ The official said that he was merely relaying talk circulating in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but what he’d heard was astonishing: people were saying that the Kremlin had intervened to block Trump’s initial choice for Secretary of State, Mitt Romney. (During Romney’s run for the White House in 2012, he was notably hawkish on Russia, calling it the single greatest threat to the U.S.) The memo said that the Kremlin, through unspecified channels, had asked Trump to appoint someone who would be prepared to lift Ukraine-related sanctions, and who would coöperate on security issues of interest to Russia, such as the conflict in Syria. If what the source heard was true, then a foreign power was exercising pivotal influence over U.S. foreign policy—and an incoming President."

If it is Sessions, and if it's anything like his previous testimonies he'll either not be able to remember/recall his email password or just invoke 'future executive privilege'.

^^ what’s so funny to me is that Don Jr already admitted to colluding to attempt to get information on Clinton during the campaign. I mean, he admitted it. It’s bizarre anyone lets any Trump say “no collusion.”

It’s not treason or even illegal I don’t think but it is absolutely collusion.

only at sentencing.

If you attempt to rob a bank and fail, you still committed a felony.

It's definitely treason in the spirit of the word.

How can anyone believe the Trump would appoint Mitt Romney to anything after Romney delivered a 15 minute long speech berating Trump in the middle of the 2016 primaries? It seems a lot more plausible that Trump dangled the position in front of Romney only to humiliate him, as that seems to be his modus operandi.

That timeline seems early for involving Sessions, Flynn, or Christie. The article makes it sound like the person that received the subpoena willingly turned it over to Axios for reporting, which discredits my initial thoughts of Kushner and DJT Jr. Katrina Pierson could be a likely candidate, as she officially joined the campaign in November 2015 and likely wouldn't stand anything to lose from the national exposure of leaking the subpoena.

As for who the witness is, it's probably someone we don't know about, a staffer or something to that effect.

No way Flynn is jeopardizing his plea deal by leaking shit like this. I highly doubt it's Sessions, though I could be weong.

Maybe it's Nunes lol.

he's saying it was never a serious offer, trump just dangled that to embarrass romney

this is totally possible, and this person could be entirely making things up about the recordings to get amnesty in the US

or it could be true

Nunberg saying Trump might have done something during the election.

Reports from Cohen associates out now saying Cohen was never reimbursed for the payment to Stormy Daniels.

The thing I don’t like about that thread is that If they can prove Cohen made the payment as part of their election strategy, that’s a campaign finance violation, which is its whole own investigation, possibly delaying the main obstruction of justice investigation.

I think the payoff is only a violation if it used campaign funds. But I could absolutely be wrong. And in fact, if Cohen is complaining he wasn't reimbursed then:

1) Cohen paid with his own money
2) Cohen was not reimbursed with campaign money

You are in fact wrong. Think about the loophole that would create... the campaign would be able to coordinate unlimited spending as long as the spender doesn’t actually Donate money. Citizens united requires no coordination which obviously happens anyway.

But this is what John Edwards was indicted for too, but they couldn’t prove in trial the payments to his mistress were part of the political strategy, so at worst Cohen and trump are looking at a slap on the wrist for this legally, likely no impact on trump’s 30-40% base.

CNN called out Nunberg for reeking of alcohol during his interview. his response is that he's taking antidepressants. Now his response to the Mueller subpoena makes a little more sense.

You're right. I was thrown off by the word "contribution" since the money didn't go to the campaign. But it's Cohen's act that is considered the contribution to Trump.
