why is it hard? it seems like you got that team's number if you beat them 4 straight times.

Hate cheering against Wilson, Hauschka, and Sweezy. But oh well.
1/4/2015 8:22:24 PM
^^^wow...wouldn't have guessed that. especially considering it was a pretty ugly game
1/4/2015 8:53:39 PM
It was the first time there has ever been a playoff game on cable so that doesn't really mean much.
1/5/2015 12:00:53 AM
I can think of well more than 3 MNF games that were on ESPN that would be much more interesting to fans of neither team, playoffs or not.I'm curious which games are 1 and 2.
1/5/2015 12:18:50 AM
the Vikings Packers game in 09 with Favre on the Vikings, and the Pats Saints game that same season

11.5 point dogs right nowSafe to say no one in the entire world outside of Panther fans gives us any chance.
1/5/2015 7:33:06 AM
Wow. It was 10.5 when I saw it last night. Given how close we've played them I'd think it would move the other way, unless different people have different lines
1/5/2015 7:38:14 AM
It's 11.5 on CrisI'd expect it to settle in the 10.5-11 range, but we'll remain DD dogs.
1/5/2015 8:00:15 AM
Does anyone think a rainy game increases the Panthers chance at winning? Hopefully it would make it more of a run game and the Panthers D-line would step up against Lynch.
1/5/2015 8:01:42 AM
1/5/2015 8:12:43 AM
^^ Weird to say, but I think we hold Lynch to a average to below average game. Our DT's and Luke are built to go toe to toe with that kind of back. It's Russell escaping the pocket I'm worried about. Those two or three plays where we blitz and he wiggles out of it could be back breakers.
1/5/2015 8:19:11 AM
On paper we match up well with Seattle.Their strength is running the ball, we can stop the run.Our secondary is a bit weak but they don't have a great WR core. Our problem is going to be on offense. Cam plays like he did against the Cards and we're going to be completely out of the game by halftime.Gotta win the turnover battle and run the ball. At home we'd be TD underdogs, so 10-11 points in Seattle is very reasonable.
1/5/2015 8:26:06 AM
^ and ^^ are both pretty fair assessments. we don't have the offensive fire power to match up with green bay, imo. so if we can play relatively mistake-free and the offense can get going we can certainly have a close game with seattle.
1/5/2015 8:27:26 AM
Tough to win when you can't score and we've had 1 TD in 3 home games against this team. Seahawks and Panthers basically try to play the exact the same way, even defensively we've been playing more cover 1 lately. Having a run game that (almost) matches theirs will help, but at the end of the day, Cam has to outplay Wilson and score TDs in the redzone or we have no shot.

meant to say besides the QB
1/5/2015 1:27:03 PM
I feel like this is gonna be one of those ugly games where the first one to 20 wins
1/5/2015 2:24:13 PM
neither team has sniffed 20 the last 3 games they've played
1/5/2015 3:15:40 PM
1/5/2015 3:53:18 PM
I can see this one being 13-12
1/5/2015 4:18:22 PM
18.5 - 7
1/5/2015 4:37:24 PM
When these teams played 2 months ago Stewart ran the ball well, Lynch was contained, and their offense couldn't muster a touchdown until the final minute. Since then we've upgraded our defensive backfield and the offensive line is playing better. If all else remains equal and Cam plays a better game, why can't we win?
1/5/2015 6:34:32 PM
you can't really say "all else remains equal" when Seattle went on to go 10-1 after that game. They are not the same team either.
1/5/2015 6:43:35 PM
1/5/2015 6:44:52 PM
that game was also in Charlotte. This one will be in Seattle in a playoff atmosphere.
1/5/2015 6:44:53 PM
Yeah, and that's why there is such a huge spread, there is an assumption that the Panthers will fold under the pressure. I think we play a pretty tough game and keep it close. They won't blow us out.
1/5/2015 6:51:01 PM
^^^ is it just me of has Gano been kinda crap lately? Maybe I just notice it more since he cost us that atl game
1/5/2015 7:31:46 PM
^without looking at the stats, he has seemed more inconsistent lately.
1/5/2015 7:35:06 PM
^^, ^ Hauschka is definitely the more reliable kicker (I think top kicking-scorer in the NFL this season), so I'm pretty worried if it does come down to kicks.EDIT: Just checked, Hauschka is #4 and Gano is #15. Surprisingly, there is only a 1% difference in their field goals made/attempt. Hauschka just has about a 5 yard longer range.I just found out I won't be able to watch the Superbowl this year because of a work trip. This makes me assume that the Panthers will not only make it to the Superbowl, but win the greatest game ever played. Because it's just my luck that it would happen when I can't see it.[Edited on January 5, 2015 at 7:57 PM. Reason : -]

You traveling out of the country or something?
1/5/2015 7:52:58 PM
I'm chaperoning a school trip, we'll be on the bus for most of game time but I might catch the last quarter if we make good time. I'll have to bring a portable radio with me or something, I doubt the bus will have wifi.

Skaterjaw you got learn to use those quote function. So you wont look like a nOOb. The Arizona offense had 77 total offense or something . Lych might have that on one carryThe o line has played better but I can see Cam eating dirt all game. I believe it will be an ugly embarrassment. But hoping for the best.

amazing I'm actually hearing optimism about our secondary now, what a strange turnaround season all around for us, it would be very interesting to see how we do with Hardy now

^^yeah everybody is quick to talk about the panthers' weak competition during this winning streak - seattle isn't exactly playing great teams either.
