you still don't understand that i am saying that we should allow an actual free market by not having privatization

the government should provide a basic level of government run services, and the market can provide any other services they want since they would then be free of government interference

the problem then, is that your idea of "basic services" is quite expansive. healthcare is NOT a "basic service" that the gov't should be worrying about, yet you are including it. That suggests that you don't want gov't in only "basic services"

i'm going to slash defense spending and use it to pay for government run healthcare, you are welcome to buy any other healthcare you want on the private market.

So, you don't believe in actually paying for the basic government services. I don't know what the hell you are talking about now

I don't think you read my post correctly. And I've confirmed it. My insurance provider cannot legally provide health insurance once the ACA is effective.

I just want to thank the GOP for working so hard to improve Obama's approval rating. The dude has had a rough summer, with the NSA controversy and Syria, so kudos to those brave congressman who want to once again shit on the economy by starting another pointless debt ceiling fight. What better way to help Obama than to remind everyone just how brain dead House Republicans are. Maybe compassionate conservatism really is making a comeback!

I was under the impression that house republicans wanted a 1 year debt ceiling increase coupled with a 1 year obamacare delay?

Maybe your thanks would be better addressed to Ted Cruz?

Cruz may have actually just defused the whole thing by essentially telling House Republicans "you're on your own". Also, any delay of Obamacare would have failed in the Senate.

The news headlines i've read are saying they want to completely "defund" Obamacare.

If they want to delay certain parts for a year, that makes sense. Plenty of people are freaking out, and the portions of the law governing who's supposed to get benefits seem to be unclear or too inflexible. I know our own HR people are confused about it and aren't giving us any straight answers.

I'm not worried about the ACA because the dumbest users in TSB apparently understand it in its entirety.

They're fans, why shouldn't I be?

By that logic, you shouldn't be worried about ACA at all because the dumbest members in congress are the ones fighting the hardest to repeal it.

only something like 40% of americans even know that ACA is law, and the exchanges are just beginning to be tested now. its going to be a major clusterfuck.

The exchanges seem to be rolling out more easily than any other aspect of the law, and so far, seem like they'll help things.

No one seems to know what any other part of the law does or how it's supposed to work.

^ can you clarify what you're trying to point out?

That seems to say they are working diligently to ensure security protocols are being followed? That's not an indictment of ACA??

I don't really feel I know enough about ACA to comment on it directly, but on a broader note I would like to say this:

Fire protection and Police protection are provided (i have to assume) as a service because they protect your property. Healthcare does not protect property.

So apparently we've decided property is more important than life.

How about if the fire department sends you a bill if they have to save your fat ass from the building but if you get out on your own or if the fire happens when you aren't home then its free?

And that's why the federal government handles fire and police departments.

Okay, so his mother was a citizen...but he was born in Canada. Yeah, I don't know, I guess it could be contested. Natural born citizen is pretty vague. Thanks, founders.

^^it doesn't seem too vague to me. If you're a citizen at birth by whatever laws the US has for such things, then you're eligible. If you have to go through some post-birth process to be naturalized then you're not.

I am only saying that because it is a pathetic attempt to reach some who largely oppose the GOP, especially Tea Partiers. The problem is there is solution offered, just a promised that we can do better. There is no substance whatsoever. It is simply stuck on Obamacare is evil.
