In sports an athlete is measured heavily by their physical attributes such as height, weight, and muscularity, this is not Sandusky-ish as in case you didn’t know physicality is very much part of sports. I fail to see how that’s perverted and the people that do concern me.
9/15/2015 4:59:35 PM
I dont think its pervish but its DEF homoerotic
9/15/2015 5:32:51 PM
LOLI grew up with a dude who routinely exalted Franco Harris' body. And he definitely "wanted it." He wanted to go back in time and get Franco Harris' body.He currently "wants" Dwight Howard's body. If he could have any man's body, he wants Dwight Howard's body. But he's never been defensive when I giggle at his remarks or ask him how bad he wants it.
9/15/2015 6:34:01 PM
^^If that's the case, if saying that an athlete looks strong enough to compete professionally is homeorotic, then the argument could be made that watching mens' sports in general is homoerotic. Watching sweaty men, throwing balls around, rubbing against each other, often in tight clothes, trying to physically beat each other... and you watching it and cheering for the one that you like.Anyways... Recruiting! Some of the "guys in the know" on PP seem to be feeling really good about our chances with Rawlee.HiGHLIthts of DSJ vs Rawlee: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQUTkQ8ezSc
9/16/2015 9:20:43 AM
I might die if we sign all these guys.
9/16/2015 10:08:24 AM
If we do sign all of them, it'll be interesting to see what kind of NC State Shit will inevitably arise
9/16/2015 10:38:19 AM
Back to Back National Championships and then NC State gets nuked by ISIS
9/16/2015 11:39:36 AM
we are not gonna get those guys. And NC State shit was having prolly the best Pick-up we've had since DT tearing his ACL before even playing a game.
9/16/2015 11:41:21 AM
ok
9/16/2015 12:14:47 PM
I just want to sign the entire top 10. That's all I ask.
9/16/2015 12:52:00 PM
You know what would be the best thing about signing the entire top 10?It would make us look legitimate enough that we could finally get Rick Barnes.
9/16/2015 2:08:53 PM
Odds are if we sign all 3 of these guys, we'll have the inevitable transfers/early departures outside of Cat(lock to go).I don't think it's a "done deal" as some on various sites are saying it is, but I think we're trending in the right direction for both Rawlee and Bam as long as we don't have an absolutely horrible season. For fun, this could be our depth chart:PG: Smith, DornSG: Alkins, MartinSF: Henderson, Rowan, KirkPF: Abu, Freeman, MartinC: Bam, AnyaWould definitely be a great team with really good depth/experience.[Edited on September 16, 2015 at 2:20 PM. Reason : t]
9/16/2015 2:19:50 PM
switch Henderson with Martin at SG/SF and Abu and Bam at PF/C and I think that's a great look.[Edited on September 16, 2015 at 2:47 PM. Reason : although they could play those positions interchangably ]
9/16/2015 2:47:18 PM
You think Martin starts over Henderson? That would be a bit surprising considering the hype that is building around Henderson. Would love Martin to have a big year though.I think we have a rotation with the big men based on match-ups, but I think Abu playing the 4 for 2 years will lock him into that spot. I think Bam can play the 4 or 5 in college and is a better rim-protector than Abu so I think he'd start at the 5 in that line-up. I think Bam could play the 4 with Freeman or Anya at the 5, but I just don't see Abu playing the 5 from a defensive point of view(unless he improves a lot this year).
9/16/2015 3:45:24 PM
Bam is probably the next JMM
9/16/2015 3:52:56 PM
Bam wants to play the 4 and possibly even the three later on down the road (NBA most likely). If he comes here and Abu is still here...Abu will be at the five. The question is who will be here in '16 from our current team. If we sign Alkins, I wouldn't be surprised to see a twin or two leave...although they shouldn't. Henderson could go the Lacey route and Abu or Anya could also jump to the league (Abu if he has a monster year...and there are whispers that Anya is leaning towards leaving after this year. And there's always Kirk...who knows how he would feel about our ever stockpiling of wings.I feel like the only sure bet to be here is Freeman.

9/16/2015 5:06:02 PM
Seriously, with the Anya talk. The guy is not an NBA player. It is such a finesse league, and that is not Anya's game. There are 60 draft picks a year and he is gonna get drafted?
9/16/2015 5:09:23 PM
I think that's what the "rumblings" have been, that he might leave regardless if he's drafted, even if it means Europe (like Cat). But I have no sources, just things I've read/heard.
9/16/2015 5:11:56 PM
Except he is also super athletic, rangy type that can make a difference on defense. Keep in mind we've only seen heavy anya, and he could still jump and move with speed when he wanted to. Maybe a tad too short though.
9/16/2015 5:28:10 PM
To me, it wouldn't make much sense for guys to transfer out because a one and done is going to play in front of you.The guy can transfer and sit out the whole year, play no basketball, and lose a year of eligibility. Or stick it out and maybe even grab 5-8 minutes per game and move into a more prominent role the following year. If you're recruited over by a 3 or 4 year guy I can see transferring. But why transfer out if the guy is going to be gone in a year anyway?
9/16/2015 5:43:40 PM
Alex Lin and Bismack Biyombo were lottery picks. Somebody might take a flyer on Anya's potential if he has a decent year. The NBA is all about potential.
9/16/2015 5:58:21 PM
Big, Long, defensive-minded guys like anya still have potential in the NBA and get drafted on the reg. The ones that really have to worry about risking it all on draft day are the not so tall, not so fast Shooting guards like Lacey and the Harrison Twins that dominate on the college Level but really don't Project to the pros.
9/16/2015 6:43:54 PM
This guy was a 1st round pick and stuck around for a dozen years despite not being any good. Anya could easily.

DSJ taught Curry a move: http://usatodayhss.com/2015/nba-mvp-stephen-curry-has-a-new-move-and-its-from-a-high-school-star-dennis-smith-jr-nc-state-stephen-curry-usa-basketball-golden-state-warriorsAnd here's why DSJ grew-up a State fan: http://www.fayobserver.com/blogs/sports/acc_basketball/bret-strelow-n-c-state-fandom-runs-in-smith-family/article_458dce04-5b40-11e5-8f28-b77f2f8b80c0.html[Edited on September 17, 2015 at 2:26 PM. Some people just don't want to be in college anymore and start their lives. Trevor Lacey was one of those...so was JP Tokoto and James Michael Macadoo. Just because they shouldn't declare doesn't mean they won't. And yeah...Anya is thinking about it.
9/17/2015 3:40:16 PM
That "move" just looks like some AAU flash that would never hold up against an elite defense.
9/19/2015 7:43:02 AM
You once suggested a plaque be made for Herb Sendek.
9/19/2015 10:18:32 AM
lol
9/19/2015 10:25:29 AM
Biyombo went high in the draft because no one knew what he wasPeople know what Anya is. Look at Dexter Pittman for a comp
9/19/2015 10:54:33 AM
all people know about Anya is he has a freakish wingspan and he hit a clutch hook shot in the tourney last year
9/19/2015 11:08:23 AM
and that announcer storyline every game about how he lost weight
9/19/2015 11:44:32 AM
if by "people" you mean the general population surethe only nba decision maker who doesnt start paying attention to prospects until the ncaa tournament is jordan
9/20/2015 1:31:20 AM
not surprising...
9/23/2015 12:01:27 PM
He cut it from 10 to 8?
9/23/2015 12:35:20 PM
Oh interesting, I see now that he cut Maryland and Texas. Wonder what the UNLV appeal is
9/23/2015 1:25:41 PM
Strippers and blow.
9/23/2015 2:23:14 PM
what's the appeal of St Johns?
9/23/2015 2:55:10 PM
hometown school...been recruiting him for a while
9/23/2015 2:59:36 PM
Oh ok. I was gonna say, who would want to move to Jamaica, Queens to go to school?
9/23/2015 3:01:46 PM
Hearing from my #sources that Bam is going to commit this weekend at the Red and White game
9/28/2015 8:38:59 PM
I think everyone figured that with it being outside. Also, DSJ playing without a knee brace 2 months removed from surgery so no worries there.
9/29/2015 12:02:30 AM
Should have been scheduled for a night game. So this is going to be at what, 10:00 am? I guess 11 might work, but still. And with the weather? I hope the planners are working overtime to make this a success so that Bam doesn't change his mind about committing when only 10 fans show up.
9/29/2015 8:34:01 AM
The fans will be there. I would imagine they might have a giant banquet tent or the like if they think the weather will dampen this experience. I dont know tho
9/29/2015 8:41:14 AM
^^^ I think "playing" is a little misleading, unless you've seen something other than the vine of him shooting, which included a FT and a shot from the top of the key. It's still encouraging though
9/29/2015 9:26:35 AM
Smith being on the mend and only able to work on his shot for a couple months might be a blessing in disguise
9/29/2015 9:55:16 AM
9/29/2015 10:36:03 AM
Isnt the national championship always at night?
