Overall, I like that blog a lot. Nice information all compiled in one place. But sometimes, the optimism might go a little far. Here's the first sentence I read on the blog:

The idea behind the blog is to offer NC State students and fans the ability to follow Wolfpack basketball and our recruiting without having to pay by the month. All of us that are involved in the blog graduated from NC State and were huge basketball fans. We really wanted to follow recruiting but couldn't afford to pay per month so we began finding ways to research these guys and going to AAU Tournaments when we had time. Through doing that we made some contacts and met some people that were close to the program .We all have basketball backgrounds whether it be playing or coaching, and although we like to keep things positive, we understand this is State basketball and there will be negatives and letdowns. Instead of being negative we'll point out the areas State needs to improve on but we'll also look at what we did well. We'll leave the negativity and hate to others.Hope you enjoy. http://www.wolfpackhoops.com

and yes we are "high interest" with Favors. Over the weekend he narrowed his list to 3. NC State, Georgia and GT.With Georgia sitting near the bottom of the SEC and Georgia Tech in dead last in the ACC (and Paul Hewitt on the hot seat)...we are looking, in my opinion, pretty good for landing Favors. And according to Dave Telep at the Glaxo, if State were to land Favors, then Wall will follow.

Does anyone think either Zo Brown or Richard Howell can sneak into the McD's AA game this year?

actually it was assumed those were his top 3. but just this weekend he announced it publicly for the first time.

^^Interesting idea. I wonder how full their games are now that John Wall is the Don Juan of the court. Too bad it's on the first day of class and, of course, I have one that goes from 6-9

Scott Wood is having an absolute monster of a year so far. He has yet to score less than 20 points per game in the six games that they have played. Marion is 5-1 on the year and their only loss was to the #1 team in the state of Indiana, Lawrence North. Last night he led the Giants to victory over East Noble 62-49. His 21 points were a tad below his 26.67 ppg season average, but he shot 60% from the field and also cleaned up 5 boards. Marion plays again tonight at home vs. Lafayette Jefferson. story on john wall after the glaxosmithkline invitational, where he won MOP. This one truly offers some in-site into where he is going to be next fall....just kidding.http://www.highschoolot.com/content/story/4237573/

Scott Wood led Marion to victory last night 81-76 against Lafayette Jefferson in the championship game of the holiday classic that they host every year. Wood had 36 points and is now averaging 28 clean ones a game. Marion will make up their game against Oak Hill that was cancelled in December this Wednesday night.Stay Tuned for results/stats.WolfpackHoops.com

wall was at the duke vs. vt game according to scout.com
1/5/2009 3:19:32 AM
^and there's no way in hell wall ends up at Duke. He's not going to say shit about his recruiting before WOG's season is over, and when he does announce (probably in april) it'll likely be to us or Memphis
1/5/2009 8:01:48 AM
^ Why wouldn't Wall end up at Duke? Not saying he will, but I'm curious as to why that is.
1/5/2009 1:39:04 PM
^ From what I understand, Baylor's looking pretty good too.
1/5/2009 1:41:21 PM
Most of the insiders and those following recruiting really close says that ultimately it will be between memphis and state for Wall.Where are you hearing the Baylor thing? Thats really old news but Wall will not end up at Baylor. Why would he if he is going to be a one and done? (but i have read that if Wall doesnt learn how to be more of a team player and run sets then he might be ready as a "one/doner" - look at WOG's record)you could say the same thing about State but we are close to his ill mother. duke is close too but his mom looooooooooooooooves Coach Lowe and NCSU. from all the reports, duke got in way too late for the sweepstakes and he, more than likely, wouldnt be starting at Duke next year.
1/5/2009 2:38:32 PM
Do we have a legit shot at Favors any more?
1/5/2009 2:41:11 PM
for a while its been b/w GT and NCSU with UGA in long thirdHewitt on the hot seat helps us but we got to win some games.those GT guys have been on Favors for a while now
1/5/2009 2:44:06 PM
Ryan Harrow had 26 points and 9 dimes the other night. Walton is now 9-4 and will play again tomorrow night against Milton.WolfpackHoops.com

A very favorable sounding report from the Glaxo tournament from Dan Wiederer:http://www.fayobserver.com/article?id=315018

Dan Wiederer is such a fucking ass clown

With the way Lorenzo Brown is playing his senior year he would probably be a McDs AA if he was committed to a power school like unc, duke, ucla, ku, etc. Here's to hoping he just impresses so much that he can make the AA game. Either way, who really cares? I knew he was going to be good for us but it sounds like he is going to be a game changer and will be able to bring us immediate help at the point if Wall goes elsewhere. By 2010 we can have Harrow and Brown on the court at the same time at the 1 and 2.
1/6/2009 11:27:15 AM
What seems to be the big thing that I always notice that people talk about concerning Brown is his defense. Most high school players don't play good defense. It's not because they all just don't want to, but b/c that part of the game hasn't been taught well enough to them. If Brown can put some pressure on opposing teams guards and get steals and force turnovers then we'll be able to get out and run more.

^ It doesn't matter. 60% of the time NC State shit happens every time.
1/6/2009 1:46:12 PM
Hey guys....we talked with our PG commit Ryan Harrow today and will be speaking with him again after his game against Milton tonight or tomorrow. We're going to have an interview with him posted on the blog sometime in the coming week. Any questions off the top of your head that you guys would like us to ask Ryan?http://www.WolfpackHoops.com
1/6/2009 4:08:35 PM
^Hmmm, ask him what "At what time in history do you wish you were alive?" I remember on the jumbotron that Ron Kelley wished he was alive when they invented macaroni and cheese.Ha, kidding. That's a good site, keep up the good work. Ask him more about his relationship with ZoBrown. Ask him why he chose to commit to State so early. Was it the Coaches, the team, the facilities, the tradition?
1/6/2009 4:11:28 PM
1/6/2009 4:37:07 PM
You could also ask him how much academics played in his decision, and what majors he may want to study when he gets to State. I've heard that his family stresses academics a lot. You can ask him if he is excited to play on Tobacco Road. Also ask him about what it was like to double for Lil JJ in the movie Crossover and be on a movie set.http://www.allmovieportal.com/m/2006_Crossover_about_the_production.html

wonder if Favors is going to be at the Ga Tech/Georgia game tonight?
1/6/2009 6:38:25 PM
georgia is in 3rd for favors right? guess i'll pull for them
1/6/2009 7:08:50 PM
georgia takin it to GT's ass in the first halfUp 38-25 with a minute to go
1/6/2009 8:00:20 PM
i was hoping for a sloppy game, so far so good
1/6/2009 8:07:36 PM
1/6/2009 11:13:10 PM
Tech rallied for a 67-62 win.fuck.
1/6/2009 11:17:41 PM

But you also have to look at our season, which is basically in the same category. Right now we stink just as much. If we really want to land Favors then we need to man up and win games. If we really want to lock him down then we need to actually *gasp* have a decent season. Otherwise just forget it.
1/7/2009 9:59:06 AM
we are not having as poor of a season as georgia tech is so far.
1/7/2009 10:09:33 AM
sounds like Wall had a really nice visit to Duke for the VT game said he enjoyed the atmosphere and the energy also mentioned Dukes track record of getting kids into the NBA as well as how much exposure they get
1/7/2009 10:12:39 AM
Walton (9-5) lost in a conference game (2-1) to Milton last night 74-70. Harrow had 24 points to lead Walton. he is now averaging 30.4 ppg.WolfpackHoops.com

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I talked to Ryan Harrow today and we got a pretty decent interview up there. I asked him a few questions you guys wanted to know.....he thought it was funny that someone knew about him being in that movie. Another cool thing to know is that he trains with Mark Edwards...who trained AND 1's Hot Sauce and is currently also training "The Professor" for the AND 1 tour. Mark Edwards is a friend of Ryans'. Anyways there's a lot more on the site.Come check it out.http://www.wolfpackhoops.com
1/7/2009 6:57:29 PM
I liked/loved this from the interview:"And as far as team goals go...I know NC State hasn't won a championship in a long time, so I'd definitely like to take the team to a championship and win it. And I guess what I want to say to everyone is that I'm going to try my best and work as hard as I can because I know State hasn't had a true point guard in a long time, and I won't disappoint!"He definitely knows his history.
1/7/2009 7:07:10 PM
good work on the interview, harrow sounds like he's got a real good head on his shoulders and the fact that he trains with mark edwards is a plus.
