I wondered if I was hearing wrong or something. Is the old Civic Center horn coming to the end of its days?

Pretty sure we have 100% zone possession time on the powerplay so far.

Still sounds like some weak sauce on tv. I think we have one of the best sounding horns in the league. Hope it's not broke

Sorry dudes, the best goal horn is the one attached to the Rangers goal song.

#1 by a mile.

went to this one, it was awesome.

fun side note: it was military appreciation night, and after we left the arena there was a sweet black apache helicopter that we got to see start up and take off.

coolest. thing. ever.

interesting side note #2: some moron tried to run up and touch the helicopter when they were warming it up. thought the soldier by the heli was gonna beat the crap out of him.

I've got that feeling again about this team.

THESE IS THE TIMES
THESE IS THE TIMES

I am out of town till Monday night, so the ghost of Peter Laviolette will not be appearing tonight. I can tell you, however, that he is not smiling yet, but will be grinning like a mad man if we can handle New Jersey on Tuesday.

god this thread moves so fast it took me forever to find it:

let's not jinx it quite yet but

I'm going to also give a shout out to Andy Ladd, who I did indeed doubt on multiple occasions this season.

In the month of February:
11 GP, 4 G, 6 A, 10 PTS, +11

yeah, he's been playing good lately too. seems like he's been more physical, but that's just me.

actually it seems like the whole team is being slightly more physical than they were. right around the allstar break is seemed like they flipped a switch (well from.. no physical play to okay physical play)

puck_it and i are still waiting 'til the last minute to pay our playoff monies

i'm not about to say i'll regret spending it, it's just that i'd like to have it, too

lol

even though brookbank is an awful fighter, the fact that he'll go to war for anyone on this team has given them a spark

the energy that aucoin/bayda bring (in place of chad) hasn't hurt, either

Yup. Thanks to poor defense and a streaky goaltender. I am glad we got rid of Mike Commodore though. He's a freakin' -5 in 6 games with Ottawa. It's horrible.

it might be a tad premature but Laviolette's system seems to be made for guys like Corvo. His impact on the powerplay is undeniable.

Is his impact on the PP undeniable because of the system, or because he can actually hold the puck in the fucking zone?

On the upside, Kaberle is looking better now that he doesn't have the pressure of singlehandedly ruining the PP every night.

i think its because we can actually hold the puck in the zone, at least.

corvo seems to be great at doing so

John Madden just scored in OT - Devils win. Canes control their own destiny (just 17 straight wins to end the season and we clinch!)

I'm down. I was actually going to post the same thing since I'm just going with one friend and a two-person tailgate isn't too exciting.

I feel like I should give the backstory:

A few seasons ago, one of the games they played during TV timeouts was a name scramble game with the players. They'd have some kid downstairs with Ron the Ref, and show something that was usually unpronounceable, like "CNIALS LLIWAN" or "STRRAU RBIE." One night, however, the name scramble was "LENG SLEWEY," which is entirely pronounceable.

It stuck.

^THey should remove that blackout, I don't think they've blacked out a single game. Don't they usually say that till the time of the game so that you'll buy tickets.
