I did CVS @ 7am this morningWas going to do Rite Aid but didn't make it there. Wonder if they have anything left this late in the day.

I think it's crap that places like CVS are open on Thanksgiving. I feel bad for the employees that get stuck working rather than being with their families
11/25/2010 2:14:14 PM
Except that they're getting paid time and a half to be there, and I'm sure they aren't there against their own will.[Edited on November 25, 2010 at 6:09 PM. Reason : ,]

Not everyone gets time and a half on Thanksgiving. And I have definitely worked places where people got stuck working Thanksgiving or Christmas rather than be with their families like they want. I know corporations are all about the profits but it's a shame there isn't a holiday anymore that the country's retail workers can't take a collective break.

Yes! I was bitching to David about that last night. I haven't been to the supermarket in over a week since there hasn't been much on sale. I think I got a better deal on groceries at Grand Asia yesterday

Anyone make gold status at Rite Aid? I am kissing it. I am going to spend all my formula checks at Rite Aid to make it by the end of the year. It is either that or stand at the checkout counter and let people use my card. I am only like 52 points away.
12/21/2010 11:45:04 PM
I know some older folks who made it months ago on prescriptions alone. Can I use their card to do couponing and UpRewards and all that stuff?I figured they would have some rule where the 20% doesn't come off if you are using coupons so I didn't bother with it.
12/22/2010 3:35:14 AM
I am almost to silver, thanks to the nut and razor deals recently. That's what everyone is getting for Christmas. I stopped shopping at RA for several months because I was too busy and that screwed me.
12/22/2010 8:46:22 AM
The 20% is off their regular non sale price. You always get the best price between your discount and the circular. You can then use your store and manufacturer coupons on top of that.It is really good for milk and other things that rarely go on sale or are normal price with Ups.....(ie boxed diapers, freebates, etc.)^^If you have their phone number to use there card..yes. Currently Ups are not tied to any card. So if you find some in the parking lot you can use them with your card.[Edited on December 22, 2010 at 10:52 PM. Reason : ]

HT usually does a coupon event (Super Doubles or Triples) right before or right after the New YearLast year, I think they did it right over New Year's b/c I remember getting up on New Year's Day at some obscene time to go out shopping I hope its Triples. I have a ton of good coupons to use.
12/28/2010 8:38:44 AM
Supposedly its Super Doubles next week 1/5-1/11 @ HTAlso, there is a new show premiering tonight on the TLC Channel called "Extreme Couponing". It is @8pm tonight.
12/29/2010 4:39:23 PM
^ im recording that lol
12/29/2010 6:36:52 PM
Didnt read the whole thread but I saw an advertisement about a show coming on, Extreme Coupons or something, where they follow like 5 couples that always apparently use coupons and purchase thousands of dollars each time they shop, they buy like $3,000 worth of stuff and after coupons only pay $145. I forget what channel (Discovery maybe?), but thought it was interesting.
12/30/2010 1:22:10 AM
^it came on last night on the TLC networkThat show pissed me off. Those are the people that give regular couponers a bad name. The ones that go in and clear a shelf of 100 boxes of pasta and leave none for anybody else. Its no wonder Kroger is starting to limit multiple coupons for the same items to 2 per transaction. Just look at how many coupons that first lady in the show was trying to use. I liked the guy they showed. He was the only one of all the people on the show that even mentioned a food bank or donating to a church. And I liked the fact that he knew a good deal was coming up on Total cereal so he called the store and asked them to order him a flat instead of going in and clearing the shelves of their regular stock. The 2nd lady was pretty interesting with the dumpster-diving for coupons. And the lady that said she hasn't paid for toothpaste or deodorant for 35 years Any place around Raleigh that is good for dumpster-diving for coupons?[Edited on December 30, 2010 at 8:44 AM. ^^My mom dumpster dives in Wilmington. My sister just goes to her apartment laundry room and people leave them on the table.Durham"Drop-Off Recycling CentersEffective July 11, 2009, the City will close six out of the seven drop-off recycling centers. According to Donald Long, director of the City’s Department of Solid Waste Management, multiple reasons are behind the closure of all but one of the recycling drop-off centers. "With the introduction of our new curbside recycling collection service beginning the week of July 13th, we anticipate that the use of these centers will decrease significantly," Long said. "In addition, since these centers are not staffed, only a minimal amount of usable recyclables are recovered from these locations, mainly due to contamination of what’s left there. Add to this issue the rampant illegal dumping that occurs in addition to considerable staff time used in keeping the sites clean. When we take all of these factors into consideration, we believe it is just not a good use of our taxpayer dollars to keep these centers open, especially since the new 95-gallon recycling roll-out carts should eliminate the need for these centers almost completely."Long said the only drop-off center that will remain open after July 10 is the City’s Waste Disposal and Recycling Center (Transfer Station), located at 2115 East Club Boulevard, Durham. "This is the only City recycling drop-off center that is staffed, and as a result, the recyclable contamination and illegal dumping that has occurred at our other sites has not been a problem here," Long said. "If our customers need to recycle something that doesn’t fit into their new curbside roll-out carts, they can still use this facility to drop off their items."[Edited on January 2, 2011 at 2:16 AM. Walgreens has Electrasol Tabs (20ct) on sale $3.49 with $1.50 back in Register Rewards.Use the $2.25 coupon from yesterday's paper and get it free after RR.The Walgreens on Glenwood and Duraleigh is out. I got the last box at 2pm.If you can't find it at Walgreens but you need Electrasol, you can wait until Wednesday and Harris Teeter will have them BOGO free. I think they are normally $5.50 each so w/ the BOGO free, it'll be $2.75/1. So $.50 after the $2.25 coupon. Also, don't forget about Super Doubles starting Wednesday @ HT[Edited on January 3, 2011 at 4:40 PM. Reason : f]

I'll have to keep my eye out for clearance ziplock bags. I'm also out of the small size.
1/6/2011 9:23:57 AM
^^ They will turn you down. Ask for a manager. I was told by a manager they have to take a manufacturer coupon if you are buying the correct item and it doesn't violate the coupon policy. This includes clearance items. It is a little work, but it is usually money makers since that is about the only way you get overage anymore. I got some free holiday glade this way I have purchased a lot of drug store items this way. The Air Wick isn't free which is why it is still in the clearance carts.

Burleson's Honey is on clearance (by the shelf tag) for 1.50....There is a $1 printable. Makes it free. Was normally 6.99.On the plus side, I just went to HT and spent a penny for 3 bags

^ i got that honey too at the HT, 24oz for free. I wonder why the heck is it on clearance for so cheap in the first place?? I haven't tried it yet, but I assume honey is honey.Love me some super doubles.
1/7/2011 9:29:45 PM
I didn't print the coupons, but got it anyway because I knew they'd be out of it tomorrow. My guess is they just have too many kinds of honey. Honey is honey but they have a dozen kinds of it or something.

1/9/2011 4:39:46 PM
I eat what I get for free.....pasta, beans, soup, tuna, canned chicken, fruit cups, frozen veggies, etc.....If you are a picky eater, couponing isn't really going to be good for you.I add a little every month for meat and my MIL gives me veggies out of her garden. So currently-Breakfast:Last week, I got around 10 boxes Special K protein meal bars and 8 packages of protein shakes for about a dollar a package from Rite Aid. That will be my breakfast for now. I also got the free oatmeal from dollar general and 4 money maker boxes of Special K from Rite Aid. Milk I get with my 20% discount at rite aid. I usually do all the money makers so my milk will be free.Lunches:I have the free-.25 Progresso Soup from Rite Aid 2 weeks ago. I bought around 15 cans. I also got some of the Healthy Request Campbells during super doubles. I have free hormal meals at my desk. I also have some of the free lean pockets from awhile ago. I still have free tuna and mayonnaise. Dinners:I have about 30 bags of Minute Rice steamers (free) and Steamfresh (2 dollars when you by 4 and they were bogo at HT). I have tons of free rice, beans, etc for sides. I make pilafs and just dump veggies or whatever into my free rice and cook with the free chicken broth.Protein source....I always buy marked down meat. I am very picky about how much I pay. I got 5 pounds of porkchops 2 weeks ago fro 3.17. My mother in law couldn't believe how cheap it was and I split the packages before freezing. I have my few HT that I always check when I run low.I always submit for the meat rebates from the beer companies. I currently have 5 sent out...3- 5 dollars when you spend 10 on meat (Blue Moon) limit 31- 4 when you spend 12 on meat (Miller)1- Budweiser oneI have one more to send- 4 dollars back when you spend 10 on meat that expires Wed. I use these to my advantage. Also coupon with a friend! Trading coupons and picking things up fro each other is a big price savings. For the most part, my grocery bill is very minimal. I have made money on diapers. I overbought when I was pregnant and now when I go to exchange for size they usually just give me a merchandise credit for the full price and the most I have ever paid for diapers is $2 for a bag. My son is 4 months and I have 5 bags and a box getting traded and I still have almost 2000 diapers in my closet. Couponing does take a little time and organization; however, I enjoy spending the extra money on stuff I want (vacations, furniture, etc.) I have gotten all kinds of things for free....toilet seats, bath stuff, wrapping paper, cards, toys, games (like Monopoly), etc....It doesn't have to just be food.
1/9/2011 5:45:21 PM
This is the 1st I'm hearing about the meat rebates from beer companies. I don't get it why beer companies offer rebates on meat purchases? Is there a website or something where I can get more information? Thanks for any information [Edited on January 12, 2011 at 10:17 AM. Reason : yay]
