I should say those that allowed him to co-opt the conservative movement. I don't agree with a lot of conservative policy but I certainly understand their desire for a smaller less centralized government.

Stupid is the wrong word. Uninformed is more accurate, probably. All they saw was a flag that had the same colors as America's flag being handed out at a domestic political event. Probably didn't think twice about even the fact that if it WAS supposed to be an American thing, the colors are in the wrong order, let alone that they were actually the flag of Russia.

How the scale tips in this country from Republican to Democrat is actually quite grotesque. For instance, under Obama the republicans that I knew were talking about a civil war because he actually made a push for universal health care and tax increases on the wealthy. These actions, to them at least, were deal breakers.

And now with Trump, the Republicans of course seem to be happy, but the liberals are talking about impeaching this guy because of his xenophobic policies and attempts to control and eventually shut down the free press.

Given the two "deal breakers", doesn't the latter appear to be a step backwards towards forming a dictatorship as opposed to insuring a democracy?

What is the logic behind a massive increase in defense spending? How does that help those people that won him the election in the rust belt and coal country?

His budget is apparently going to have massive spending on defense as well as giving a ton of money to local police agencies to combat "violent crime."

Trump isn't going to improve the economic situation for anybody in coal country or the rust belt. But we all already knew that. He will, however, continue to scapegoat "bad dudes" and stoke the flames of racial and religious hatred in order to appear strong for his base.

He's not going to ease their economic tension. You and I both know that. He will, however, engage in the politics of raw emotion, because he doesn't have the desire (nor the ability) to speak in the language of logic or reason.

When he says millions of illegals voted against him, he's priming his voters to accept tougher voter ID laws.

When he references "bad hombres" or "bad dudes," he's priming his voters to desire an increase in ICE raids

When he talks about law and order and couples that language with "All lives matter," and increases police spending and creates special investigative executive orders to investigate crimes against law enforcement, he's signaling his intent to crack down on protesters in communities of color.

When he goes on and on about "radical Islam" and ISIS, he's justifying his Muslim Ban and paving the way for more invasive forms of surveillance and documentation for non-Christians.

Yo, y'all need to stop analysing the past and present and start anticipating the near future. When Trump speaks in obvious lies, you shouldn't ask yourself what he means by that. You should be asking yourself what future plans those obvious lies serve to justify.
