I was awful this weekend, but it's because I had TWO birthday parties to attend and drinking was happening. Oops.Back to work today with the working out/eating better.
6/28/2010 11:43:13 AM
i showed up to a party in a wife beater....i'm pretty sure i did some drinking
6/28/2010 11:51:36 AM
^I've been in Puerto Rico since Friday.... I, too, can say that I've done some drinking
6/28/2010 12:31:22 PM
I'm trying to calculate all that I ate over the weekend and its gonna look pretty bad. Saturday night was my 30th bday celebration so the amount of alcohol consumed was mind numbing (literally).

In the past 4 days, 80% of the foods I've consumed are of the fruit variety.... (Strawberries, cantaloupe, watermelon, mango, blueberries, bananas)... I think I need to lay off the fresh fruit and maybe eat more of the other stuff...
6/28/2010 3:34:28 PM
I lost about 2 kg over the weekend Walked a few miles in AmsterdamBut during today's workout I gained like 2kg, so, I dunno. I drink a shit ton of water while working out. Here's my pic for week...whatever it is:Eating several meals during the day and more balanced meals, but my weight isn't increasing so I need to amp up my feasting. I also need the grocery store to not close at 8pmI also haven't noticed enough gains in my bicep strength/definition so I will be doing at least 1 bicep exercise every workout day. These muscles recover fast enough that its supposed to be good to do that. Plus my arms wear out insanely fast on back/bi days so it'll be good to hit it more often in general.[Edited on June 28, 2010 at 3:58 PM. Reason : curlz for gurlz]

Nice hair pattern, Corey HartI'd imagine that when unbound by denim restraints, your pube/stomach hair combination is quite striking, and your almost complete lack of chest hair frames the entire ensemble quite nicely

My workout is about to get kicked up about 20 fucking notches... Swim Conditioning + weight lifting sessions begin July 1st. It's going to be a killer 5 weeks, imo... I shall report later.

Checked my weight yesterday (check it the same time every week wearing the same clothes on the same scale). For the 3rd week in a row I'm 201.0 lbs on the dot.I didn't have any dinner last night, was too busy and it didn't happen. Probably not the best move after a hard work out at the gym (though I did have an EAS protein shake immediately after the workout).
6/29/2010 8:45:26 AM
Well I didn't gain or lose any weight this past week, which is fine with me considering I hit up the Indian buffet yesterday.I'm still adjusting to reducing carbs and upping my protein. I went from flat-out hating cottage cheese to thinking it's sort of tolerable mixed with organic peanut butter. And fuck that P90X Yoga workout, shit is ridiculous and I hurt my shoulder doing it.
6/29/2010 8:57:55 AM
Thats like your third buffet since I been reading this thread in the past weekCalm the fuck downPeople underestimate their calories there by at least 50 percent, perceived portion control or not
6/29/2010 9:15:17 AM
Nobody asked you
6/29/2010 9:24:51 AM
down another 1.2 lbs in the last week. im right where i want to be for this weekend.
6/29/2010 9:40:25 AM
^^He has a point though, buffett's are dangerous and pretty hard to quantify if you're keeping track of calories.
6/29/2010 9:45:13 AM
This thread is about accountabilitySo don't take offense when others hold you accountable for your actions, even if you yourself do notI'll stop short of an official call out, but you're playing with fire here
6/29/2010 9:47:08 AM
^^True. ^Whatever man, you're not the food police.
6/29/2010 9:50:25 AM
I'm the bitch tit police, however, and I call 'em like I see 'em.Its just advice...don't heed it if you don't want too, but its common knowledge that "buffet" and "beach body" are oxymorons
6/29/2010 9:57:31 AM
woke up feeling great this morning after my measurements last night! tonights workout will consist of abs, legs, and cardio

6/29/2010 11:20:45 AM
^ truthand honestly Slave, if you entered the contest it wouldn't seem so trolling on your part. If it's accountability that you seek, you need it youself.
6/29/2010 11:35:05 AM
Today is a lifting day, but I'm still pretty sore from my last lifting day (Sunday. I tried my hand at barbell bench presses for the first time, got back to my pre-accident RDL and step-up max weights, and hit up pullups pretty hard, so my legs and shoulders are not happy). I don't do body part splits, so all my days are full-body. As long as I foam roll/stretch am I good to lift as usual while sore or does that cause muscle breakdown? I've heard both. I used to roll my eyes at people asking me how I could possibly get enough protein as a vegetarian, but now that I'm shooting for 30 percent of my calories from protein I am sort of hitting a wall. I started eating some kind of soy product (tofu, tempeh or Boca/Morningstar stuff) at nearly every meal and compensating for times I didn't get enough with whey ... neither of which I want to do. I have cottage cheese for snacks and know a couple recipes for quiche and lasagna that use it. Beans and lentils are good sources, but by the time I add other stuff to make a meal out of them the overall protein drops lower than I want it. But other than that and things like cheese and Greek yogurt that are hard to structure a meal around, I am pretty much left with eggs. So looks like I better start getting creative with eggs and egg whites. I wish I had any desire to eat meat. I also am not sure what my goal weight/body fat percentage is. I'm around 114.5 pounds and 19 percent right now. So if I lose 5 more I'll be in the 15-16 range, I think. I guess I'll just have to get there and see what happens. It's hard to figure out what my goal should be when I've never been there before.
6/29/2010 11:37:45 AM
are you getting enough iron?
6/29/2010 11:40:12 AM
Looks like I average around 14-15 mg per day from food, then I take vitamins when I remember.
6/29/2010 11:45:11 AM
I've given up holding people accountable.I can already tell the people in this thread that are making the same mistakes that they always make. The same ones that are never going to make any significant progress. The same ones who snap at you and tears well up in their eyes when you dare question their workout routine.Call it post-purchase rationalization, confirmation bias, choice-supportive bias, selective perception, it has many names. It's happening right in this thread.
6/29/2010 11:56:10 AM
Seems to me some trolling just happened in this thread.
6/29/2010 12:03:49 PM
Feel free to show us any significant progress you've made, God.Oh wait, your hamstring is hurt and that means you can't bench press, right?
6/29/2010 12:06:16 PM
Ouch
6/29/2010 12:10:56 PM
If you have advice for me, God, let's hear it. If it's good, I'll listen.
6/29/2010 12:11:27 PM
it's one thing to give advice in support. it's another to offer advice for your own self-assurance and personal gratification and to get all pissy when someone doesn't take it. even if this is "your thread" you have to understand that your way of getting into shape may not be fitting for everyone else. you are not the know all end all of personal training so just get off your high horse and recognize that this is a positive experience for all of us trying to better our health, regardless of how we go about it. now, quit your bitchin and get back to work with the rest of us!
6/29/2010 12:23:34 PM
I think when describing those who use Weight Watchers or P90x or Insanity as lazy - that's incredibly counterproductive...So maybe that's why people are quick to respond negativelyI know that I'm not perfect in what I'm doing - but I'm working my ass off and watching what I eat and I've made a ton of progress (pounds and inches)
6/29/2010 12:40:40 PM
I can't tell if God likes being this miserable and negative towards others or if he's just mad the thread isn't centered around him.Bitter, table of one.
6/29/2010 12:42:50 PM
After looking at God's pic on the first page of this thread, I can understand why people are hesitant to follow his advice. Not that he couldn't be right, it just makes you think twice. Its kind of like my nutritionist friend who is about 50lbs overweight. I'm always like, "who is going to listen to you??"
6/29/2010 12:53:43 PM
I honestly think this thread is about accountability. Posting pics and what we are doing to stay in shape along with diet and also being spurred on by others' progress is a good amount of accountability. To be honest, the people I want to emulate are the ones that I take the advice from but I can always just ignore advice that I don't want to take so I guess I don't care if people give it out. Just don't be mean, damnit.
6/29/2010 1:07:10 PM
amen punchmonkey
6/29/2010 1:08:03 PM
i dont expect others in this thread to hold me accountable. but i do feel like posting here is, in a way, me holding myself accountable.
