She may be interested. I wasn't physical out the gate and I was so poor. I don't know how I would have dated back then if I were expected to show my interest through physical and going out. I was so poor but then I was ok with doing the free stuff (parks, cooking for someone, or even the dollar theater, free events; I was not typical). I couldn't afford shit. I worked two jobs and did full time school and still had nothing because it all went to rent, bills, weekly food, medicine, and toiletry stuffs.

I guess you should figure things out with her before you assume junk.

Was out the other night on a date with a girl I've "known" for a while but things never really lined up. However she had gone through a fair amount of effort to show she was interested last week when we randomly ran into each other. So we went out Wednesday night. Things seemed to be good, i.e. conversation flowed well, I was making her laugh, we were in no rush to leave.

When the check came she pulled out her purse quite quickly. I know some women can be independent about these things so I didn't decline the offer and we split the check. I walked her to her car and we talked about hanging out at the pool this weekend.

Well, she flat out told me via text last night that a girl should never have to pay for a date, and that she only took out her purse to be polite. She had no interest in seeing me again.

I agree with you. After the date the split check thing popped into my head and I had a gut feeling I messed up. I didn't think she would give me the big fuck you for it though. (I've casually known the girl for 5-6 yrs and we had been texting late night several nights in a row before the date).
