I got an iTunes gift card the other day for my birthday and bought some TV shows. When I tried to sync them to my Incredible via DoubleTwist, it yelled at me because they are DRM'd apparently. Does anybody have a good recommendation for how to fix that? I googled but all the software looks so shady so I thought I'd ask TWW.

Looks like the Eris has reached the end of the line, Verizon has removed it from their website.
6/22/2010 11:11:47 AM
well it was rumored it wasn't getting 2.2, so kinda makes sense.

I want a red and white nc state version.

I won't be able to get another Eris unless it's pre-owned ($170). I can't get a replacement since I just added insurance yesterday and I got my Eris back in December. I'll have to wait a while..New tweet on Droid X..@Droidlanding REPORT: Surveillance confirms all Droid X have dispersed. Each one is in a separate site.

HTC Aria Reviewhttp://www.androidcentral.com/review-htc-aria-android-smartphone-att
6/22/2010 4:20:03 PM
The Aria is supposed to be a zippy little phone, and if you can get over using ADB for non-market apps until someone ends up rooting the thing it might be a nice buy.Of course that Samsung Captivate has all the specs you'd want in a phone so I'd wait for that and with the right ROM it'd be a very impressive phone. For those that care the Backlfip might be close to someone gaining root without special motorola developer tools. One of the best motorola modders is working on it and got close and it's speculated that when moto releases the Blur update sometime in the next week people will be able to find the certificates needed

Wtf is up with the facebook app? Can't view your inbox? Have to hit refresh to update your notifications and news feed?
6/22/2010 8:37:10 PM
Facebook notifications on android are wonky. Inbox and status refresh works fine on the regular facebook app for me.[Edited on June 22, 2010 at 8:56 PM. Reason : ]
6/22/2010 8:50:00 PM
I'm not even talking about notifications...there's no way to view your inbox? And yeah I have to hit refresh for some reason (instead of it just refreshing on its own when you open the news feed and the notifications)
6/22/2010 9:03:39 PM
So when you open the facebook app, it doesn't show News Feed, Friends, Photos, INBOX, Profile and Notifications? I just had to manually refresh inside of the Notifications tab also. News Feed refreshes fine on the 4 hr intervals I have set but doesn't seem to refresh when you open it to the latest updates since the last time it refreshed. Also for anyone who can't download the new google maps 4.3 on Froyo, download Android Terminal Emulator from the market and type the following
6/22/2010 9:11:53 PM
I dont see an inbox button. Do I have the wrong app or something? And its annoying having to hit the refresh button to see the latest stuff. It should refresh automatically when u open it
6/22/2010 9:28:46 PM
You may be using the HTC facebook app. I'm using Facebook for Android from the market.
6/22/2010 9:31:43 PM
Yeah, the HTC Facebook one kinda sucks. You have to go to the regular facebook site in a browser to see your inbox.Im not a big fan of it.

3 things bother me, doesn't come stock with 2.2, nor Flash, and preloaded with blur.I hate the trend of skinning Android. Also iPhone4 is rumored to have up to 36+ hours of battery life of normal usage on a 3.5" screen. this is 4.3" so i understand the increased battery drain, but to have the battery "the same as the Droid" is equivalent to 12-18 hours or so of normal usage, I expected a little more. It's most likely related to the type of screen and processor, but still. The pros, mentioned above, 1Ghz OMAP, HD video capture, HDMI/DLNA, 8MP camera, 4.3" screen, 3-microphones, high diversity antennas, wifi tethering, preloaded with Swype, expandable to 40GB, all better or equivalent specs than the iPhone 4. Only thing it's missing is front facing camera and little design touches like integrated metal frame for antenna, gorilla glass, etc, that makes the iPhone. The 1930mAh battery will be a welcome addition if it's true it only adds 1mm and fits in all the standard accessories. While I'm sure it's an awesome phone, I question the urge to 'push' it before it's ready, which it kind of comes across as...[Edited on June 23, 2010 at 2:49 PM. Don't really think this version of blur will be that bad as it's super fast and barely noticeable. It'll probably get updated later than the stock androids but google is trying to fix that with Android 3.0 (Gingerbread). With froyo, I'm usually on about 60% battery after 10-12 hrs with moderate usage now so the Droid X should easily make it through the day. The quoted battery life isn't really that different: 8hrs of talk time/220hrs of standby (9 days) on the Droid X and 7 hours of 3G talk time/300hrs of Standby (12.5days).[Edited on June 23, 2010 at 2:59 PM. Blur is actually really nice. The version that is on current US phones isn't that impressive, but mostly because:-It's on Android 1.5 instead of 2.1 or 2.2 or even 1.6. Android 1.5 has a lot of issues-The phones with Blur don't have that impressive of technical specs. -It's the initial release of Blur which wasn't a very polished product. The version on the Moto Flipout looks much more polished. Blur gets you good (optional) social networking (better than using the facebook or twitter apps when you get the latest version). It gives you a way to remotely locate and wipe your phone. It also backs up your contacts onto a remote server so if you need to wipe your phone or change phones they'll be there as soon as you log into blur (same way you log into your google account when you set your phone up)

so i'm eligible for an upgrade with verizon on july 30th, and i'll probably be getting my first smart phone. i want an android phone, and i'm trying to decide between the droid incredible, droid x, or waiting for the droid 2. the droid x looks nice, but i don't know how much i'd use the camera, video and hdmi features. that, and it's kinda big, but i don't think it'd be too intrusive. and i've always had trouble typing on touch screen keyboards, so i think my thumbs might be kinda fat anyway. i know the incredible has really shitty battery life. i'm not sure if the droid 2 is worth waiting for aside from the fact that it might be cheaper than the other 2 options. what say ye?
6/23/2010 4:52:59 PM
Droid 2 will likely be 199 like the Droid X. If you want cheap, find a good deal on the original droid, install froyo and overclock it. Or just talk me into selling mine with the multimedia dock, car mount and case. [Edited on June 23, 2010 at 5:07 PM. Reason : ]
6/23/2010 4:58:49 PM
well actually the price isn't really much of an issue. i fully expect to pay about 200. i just thought the droid 2 might have that going for it if that was the case, but if it'll be the same price as the others then i'd rather get a superior phone.
6/23/2010 5:17:26 PM
the droid x is going to be a pretty large phone. if you want an excellent phone that can still fit in your pocket, stick with the droid 2.

Droid 2 is rumored to be released in August. Keyboard doesn't have the dpad and takes up the whole slide but the keys still look to be relatively flat.As for Droid X v Incredible, I'd lean toward the Droid X. The 1GHz omap processor and separate PowerVR GPU perform better in benchmarks than the Snapdragon. Larger 4.3" TFT screen that is easier to see in sunlight than AMOLED, better battery life. You could probably go on and on.Spec ComparisonDroid X dimensions- 5.02 x 2.58 x 0.39 ", ~5.47oz[Edited on June 23, 2010 at 6:04 PM. Reason : ]
