Went to Maggiano's with the family last night. My parents both gave me the "get one to take home" of their pastas since they did not have a fridge at the hotel. I already had some leftovers in the fridge, and I'm going out to lunch today and tomorrow. Too many tasty leftovers, not enough time to eat them.
9/24/2012 10:34:32 AM
Eat them for dinner.
9/24/2012 10:36:00 AM
I plan to, LOL. But I've got two and a half orders of pasta, plus some leftovers from Friday night's dinner. I hope they do not expire before I can consume them over the next 3 days.
9/24/2012 10:39:44 AM
I thought the get to take one home shit was frozenor you could just freeze what you have...cmon son
9/24/2012 11:18:44 AM
you would really eat leftovers from Friday?
9/24/2012 11:20:29 AM
just nuke it a little longer and you'll be fine
9/24/2012 11:33:04 AM
Do people really at the idea of eating leftovers 3 days later? I honestly can't wrap my mind around being grossed out by that.
9/24/2012 11:35:48 AM
depends on what leftovers they are. some foods don't stay very well even after a few hours, but something simple like pasta can easily last 3+ days. More if your freeze them. Shit, you can keep leftover meats frozen for a very long time.
9/24/2012 11:41:04 AM
being grossed out by three day old refrigerated leftovers, is in fact, a first world problem
9/24/2012 11:46:10 AM
I'm with Skwinkle on this one.
9/24/2012 11:51:44 AM
Yeah, I know a few people who put super short time limits on leftovers, but I do not fall in said category.
9/24/2012 11:57:51 AM
Yeah... 3 days is no big deal, unless you're talking sushi.FWP: My legs are ridiculously sore from playing tennis and wakeboarding all weekend.

I have a slow leak in one of the tires on my SUV, so I had to drive my truck today. It sucks because the truck gets like 10 MPG less than the SUV.

there is a 48 hour limit on leftover meals in my fridge. i'm talking about fully prepared meals. If i make too much pasta sauce I will freeze it. raw ingredients like chopped veggies and things also get a pass.but if it's a mixed container of sauce and pasta it gets thrown out on the third day. same with pizza, home cooked meals, to-go boxes, take-out, etc.

MONEYBAGS
9/24/2012 3:55:34 PM
Srsly. I'd get sick of things if I always had them for back to back meals. Living by myself, I almost always cook extra to eat later in the week.
9/24/2012 3:58:42 PM
In honor of this thread I am currently eating a ground chicken dish I made 4.5 weeks ago that got lost in my fridge. For science. I will let you all know if I die.

Cooked food sitting in the fridge for 3 days is in no way disgusting (except certain foods that don't keep/reheat). You realize raw food can sit for longer than that at the grocery store, right? This is why Americans waste so much food.
9/24/2012 8:17:06 PM
I get to make a list of all the things to take with me as I move out of my living place for 3-4 weeks....
