^ Those are pretty weak connections too, and w/o Obama being named directly, I doubt that gains much traction. If you start attacking peopled based on their donors, then both sides are going to have people they disagree with. For this reason, I don't see McCain taking on this line of attack, which means the media will ignore it too.

^ Don't let a statistician hear you say that.
10/3/2008 12:24:21 PM
if a statistician put out a political poll i'm sure they'd be a lot more adamant than the networks at mentioning to the audience about standard deviation and margin of error and other things that "51 to 36" don't conveyalso i have not changed my stance of a couple weeks ago that liberals already hate palin more than george bush, and for no good reason[Edited on October 3, 2008 at 12:30 PM. News stories typically bury those things as they bore the masses. Check on it for yourself before declaring a poll invalid.
10/3/2008 12:30:57 PM
instead they entertain the masses with misleading numbers that dont factor in pertinent informationand i'll be glad to call any poll invalid...last time i checked polls don't get people elected, votes do]
10/3/2008 12:32:31 PM
are you seriously arguing the validity of polls? Just because you think polls are full of shit doesn't mean they are.
10/3/2008 12:38:40 PM
tell me one thing i've said regarding polls thats incorrect
10/3/2008 12:39:12 PM
10/3/2008 12:40:14 PM
do you not agree with GoldenViper that when poll numbers are reported on the news, they only report the numbers so as not to bore the public with important details?
10/3/2008 12:51:15 PM
none of which prevents people from looking at the poll. you lose still.
10/3/2008 12:52:03 PM
10/3/2008 12:53:27 PM
what poll?Your sophistry knows no bounds.
10/3/2008 12:53:55 PM
You can usually find that stuff if you dig, though. If you want to take issue with particular methodology, do so. But assuming the polls to be wrong automatically goes against my understanding of scientific protocol.Of course, you're right that opinions shift and thus polls don't tell us what will happen on election day.
10/3/2008 12:55:07 PM
Polls are meaningless until they're a poll that you can utilize.See: Any GOP speech ever.Example:Dick Cheney, circa 2003: 60% of Americans support the warDick Cheney, circa 2008: I don't use polls to make policy decisions

We just need to give every American a PERCEPTION ANALYZER.
10/3/2008 12:58:52 PM
^^not always...how good of a photograph were election day 04 exit polls...they would lead people to believe that kerry was going to win, which he obviously didnt...so what does that say about how people are feeling on that particular day? they couldnt even figure out how people were feeling on the day they actually voted]
10/3/2008 1:02:56 PM
Other than a few swing states, exit polls allowed the news agencies to call the various state wide elections the moment the polls closed. The only boondogle state was Ohio and that was due to the polls remaining open longer than they were scheduled for and even then, the exit polls got it right. You are going to have to come up with something a whole lot better than that.[Edited on October 3, 2008 at 1:05 PM. Reason : .]

exit polls are conducted quite different than the tracking polls people are using now. It's completely asinine to compare them. And speaking of polls... Obama is currently tied for his highest point ever in the polls (not his highest lead ever though): http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html[Edited on October 3, 2008 at 2:07 PM. Exit polls are actually pretty accurate as they utilize infrence to create a fairly accurate model for the population using a random sample. The current media polls though are flawed as they do not pick from a random sample. Although granted the exit polls are not purely random they are an order of magnitude greater though.

http://www.videosift.com/video/Palin-Katie-Couric-Annoyed-Me-So-I-Couldnt-Name-a-Case"The Sarah Palin in those interviews was a little bit annoyed," she said. "It's like, man, no matter what you say, you are going to get clobbered. If you choose to answer a question, you are going to get clobbered on the answer. If you choose to try to pivot and go to another subject that you believe that Americans want to hear about, you get clobbered for that too."I can see where she's coming from. With questions like "What newspapers do you read?" and "What supreme court cases can you name?" there isn't really a safe way to answer in her mind. She doesn't want to be judged based on the newspapers she reads and the court cases she brings up. But then to not answer at all could be even more damaging, as it likely was in her case. She goes on to say that Kouric missed opportunities to ask more questions about her values, which I agree with to some extent, although one could argue that Palin herself missed the opportunity to explain her values by giving thoughtful answers to those questions. Chalk it up to her naivete.
10/4/2008 1:51:53 AM
^I think that's a pretty fair assessment. She even said in the VP debates that she preferred them much more to media butchered interviews where they can edit her comments to show whatever they want.
10/4/2008 12:37:21 PM
You're so fucking stupid.Did you see Biden's answer to the Supreme Court question? He didn't dodge the shit at all, and he wasn't "clobbered" for his responses.

I'm gonna try to take an open minded approach. Please give me facts. What is Obama's reltionship with Ayers?Bill Ayers, although I share some of his ideaology being called a terrorist is a factual statement if you agree with "once a terrorist always a terrorist" since he was part of the planning and execution of several bombings. If indeed Obama "pals" with him then its a factual statement but hey, many important and highly heralded figures in American history were "terrorists".But thats what I like about Obama. He will not just ignore someone just because he disagrees with him. There are things to learn from "paling" with anyone.
