^^yeah but rossi never expressed he might play for one or the other. he always wanted to play for italy
11/17/2010 4:44:39 PM
Eh, my point is the same nonetheless.
11/17/2010 4:46:44 PM
Friendlies don't cap-tie players to a particular countryit has to come in a Gold Cup, WCQ, or WC for US playersI agree that I'm glad we're giving them call-ups now so it won't be harder for them to make a decision[Edited on November 17, 2010 at 5:18 PM. Reason : .]
11/17/2010 5:17:28 PM
oops
11/17/2010 5:18:37 PM
I understand Rogers, Findley, Gaven, etc. in games where none of the European guys are there but there's no way those bitches should be called into any meaningful games for the rest of their lives. we get it already.Ream/Lichaj should be no-brainer call-ups from now on, in my opinion, considering our depth in defense. I don't think we'll have anybody in the 2014WC that played in 2010. Spector maybe. Same for Bunbury/Agudelo, considering our depth at forward. And it's just too bad for Mix/Bedoya that we're so loaded in midfield... but they sure as fuck deserve call-ups for Beasley/Rogers/random MLS'er
11/17/2010 6:27:20 PM
I actually kind of like Rogers. And he's not so old that you can definitively say he'll never produce at national level. He'll be 24 in May. Dempsey didn't start getting significant call-ups until he was like 23. If Rogers can put together some excellent MLS seasons, there's no reason to believe he wouldn't be a solid back-up World Cup option at some point. He definitely has a lot of work to do though. I just think he's a little too young to rule out at this point.
11/17/2010 8:26:46 PM
I don't mind Rogers, I think it's better to give him so experience in these types of games. He's got pretty good offensive skills and a lot of speed, but who knows if he can be consistent at all. I'm happy that we've got some young talent coming up, I just wish more of it was on defense cuz that's where we need it the most. If only we had Nevan Subotic.
11/17/2010 9:23:47 PM
I just want Marvelle Wynne to develop into the player he could be and start terrorizing teams down the right side.
11/17/2010 10:56:49 PM
That was a good win considering the squad used.
11/18/2010 1:52:50 AM
yeah, Rogers is okay, I just can't see him being a WC player in 2014 which is all that really matters to me
11/18/2010 8:29:39 AM
Guess I wasn't thinking. I knew it was a friendly day, but didn't even stop to consider that we had a game.Good to hear new names. I second the "if I see Findley on the field again, I'm gonna _____" notion.Never heard of Agudelo, and I was at a Red Bulls game this year, lol.I've vaguely knew of Ream, but didn't know he was as young, and a prospective talent, as he is.
11/18/2010 9:36:58 PM
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=843952&sec=transfers&cc=5901Landon back to the EPL?
11/18/2010 9:39:58 PM
Everton could certainly use him
11/18/2010 9:53:00 PM
^^^ I hadn't heard of Agudelo either until the latter part of the season, I think he only got a handful of starts for them this yearand we were at RBA in July and I don't even remember seeing him in the program
11/18/2010 10:01:13 PM
So what does everyone think about our chances tomorrow? I won't be shocked if Australia gets it over us since we have already hosted once.[Edited on December 1, 2010 at 1:11 AM. Reason : .]
12/1/2010 1:09:32 AM
2018 - I think England will get it. I won't be disappointed if Russia gets it either, I think that would be cool.2022 - I can't see Australia getting it because China will more than likely have a strong bid for 26 and they won't give it to Asia back-to-back. I think we've been the clear favorite all along, all this other shit is just trying to stir up controversy and intrigue. All I know is... if Qatar gets to host a World Cup, I think I will boycott international soccer and write hate letters to FIFA the rest of my life
12/1/2010 7:41:09 AM
http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/bidders/live/index.htmlyou can watch the motherfucking bids live, US is at 11
12/1/2010 10:24:34 AM
oh its the presentations today. tomorrow FIFA will announce the host sites
12/1/2010 11:01:40 AM
we are about to lose to motherfucking Qatar
12/1/2010 11:29:36 AM
yeppresentation had Morgan Freeman, Donovan, Gulati's gay ass, and ClintonI think Clinton's speech is awful. All he's talking about is poor African counties and fucking Haiti[Edited on December 1, 2010 at 11:33 AM. Reason : .]

damn I think I actually agree with that.
12/1/2010 11:52:10 AM
I think I'm going to try to make it to '18 no matter who winsI will only be at '22 if it's in Amuuurica, fuck some damn Qatar bullshit
12/1/2010 10:59:08 PM
yeah i remember qatar being the laughing stock team on my fifa 94 game where i would just bike goals in from half field every game with brazil. i cant imagine qatar is any better since then i dont see how they couldnt bring it back to the usa. did they not make much money here or something? i couldve sworn fifa killed it and had the highest finals attendance in history, which i imagine still stands
12/2/2010 12:19:00 AM
holy shit fifa 94. my friends and i would play against qatar so much in that game. Their ratings were so low, and we always tried to see how many goals we could score in a game. Every time I see a horrible team in soccer, it reminds me of Qatar.
12/2/2010 1:06:21 AM
^^No way Qatar gets it. I read the average temperature there in June is 120 F. They claimed they would use special technologhy to keep the stadiums at 80 F.[Edited on December 2, 2010 at 2:02 AM. Reason : .]
12/2/2010 2:00:32 AM
94 has the attendance record and that's when the tourney only had 24 teams
12/2/2010 6:52:33 AM
hahah, I love all the FIFA 94 Qatar references because that is exactly what I think of every time I hear Qatar as well.
12/2/2010 9:04:50 AM
The more I think and read about the bids... I think Russia would be a really cool host. I'd rather go to Prem games on a trip to England than WC anyways. Decision's coming soon
12/2/2010 9:06:50 AM
Apparently the decision is now delayed as they are going through a 3rd round of voting for the 2018 bid. ESPN says at least 30 minutes currently.http://soccernet.espn.go.com/feature?id=847763&sec=global&cc=5901

Money buys votes especially with FIFA. Well you never know a lot can happen in 12 years. Qatar will be the worst host team ever, I wouldn't be surprised if their GD in their group stage would be -20
12/2/2010 10:11:00 AM
GD if Qatar actually wins I will be pissed.
12/2/2010 10:12:51 AM
is there a single person outside of that country that wants it there? i mean seriously
12/2/2010 10:13:59 AM
The same guy from above also just mentioned a bunch of long faces on the England reps[Edited on December 2, 2010 at 10:16 AM. Reason : It looks pretty clear that England didn't win now]
12/2/2010 10:14:18 AM
^^I doubt it.FIFA is a pretty terrible governing body a lot of the time though so I won't be surprised if this is all true, just pissed :/[Edited on December 2, 2010 at 10:15 AM. Reason : .]
12/2/2010 10:14:38 AM
Any reason to believe we would get it back so quickly after hosting in 94? Seems pretty unlikely to me. Qatar doesn't make a damn bit of sense though, I do agree with that. Japan/South Korea, meh, they had it more recently than the USA did. Australia makes the most sense to me.
12/2/2010 10:18:17 AM
I'm okay with the Russia bid winningand it's not just because we're losing, it's because it's fucking Qatar. I mean, I could understand Australia, they put on a good Olympics
12/2/2010 10:18:42 AM
Looking more and more like Australia is taking the other bid.
12/2/2010 10:20:43 AM
fuck fifa, what's the point of the live video if you're telling all the journalists now?
12/2/2010 10:22:00 AM
12/2/2010 10:22:15 AM
looks like England got butt fucked in the voting
12/2/2010 10:22:59 AM
word is they went out in the first roundApparently FIFA will also be releasing who voted for what after the ceremony so we can find out for sure.
12/2/2010 10:25:10 AM
^ are you sure? everything I've read said they don't release that info
12/2/2010 10:25:49 AM
^ first time they are doing it I think.
12/2/2010 10:26:24 AM
interestingI bet Chuck Blazer voted for Qatar, the stupid fat fuck that he isvideo's up on FIFA now[Edited on December 2, 2010 at 10:29 AM. Reason : .]

Average high temperature of 115 degrees during the summer in Qatar. Awesome.FIFA politics is all about getting support (buying off) all of the reps from the underdeveloped countries (most of which don't have an internationally relevant soccer team), which Havelange has mastered as well as anyone. Oil money goes a long way.
12/2/2010 10:30:15 AM
