I wonder what Heath Ledger would say if he knew he had won the Oscar....A: "Hey, someone let me out of this box!"

http://splashpage.mtv.com/2009/03/10/batman-3-casting-rumor-has-sam-worthington-replacing-christian-bale/It’s been a couple of months (translation: “far too long”) since we’ve heard any crazy casting rumors regarding “Batman 3” — ever since the blogosphere erupted over since-denied reports that Eddie Murphy and Shia LeBeouf were joining the cast back in December. And while most of the recent attention regarding the follow-up to “The Dark Knight” has been focused on whether Christopher Nolan will settle back into the director’s chair, the latest online scuttlebutt now questions if Batman himself, Christian Bale, will don the cape and cowl once more.In a report coming out of Australia’s Herald Sun newspaper this morning, unnamed sources claim that Bale’s “Terminator Salvation” co-star, Sam Worthington, may indeed be taking on the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in the next installment of the award-winning Batman franchise. As usual, it’s important to remember that when it comes to “Batman 3? casting rumors, nothing is confirmed until Warner Bros. says so, but given Bale’s recent Internet infamy, could this speculation have some credibility? As the source notes, Worthington’s acting star is “about to shoot into the stratosphere” with a much-hyped performance opposite Bale in “Terminator Salvation,” and also with regards to this December’s “Avatar,” in which director James Cameron is also quoted as saying that Worthington gives a “breakout performance.”Which at least raises the question — could Warner Bros. be looking for a fresh start with a new, on-the-rise actor, especially given Bale’s epic, PR-wrecking on-set tantrum which made the rounds a few months back? Once again, we remind readers that — while nothing here is even close to official — it’s definitely a story that’s worth watching develop. Stay tuned, Bat-fans.this article was posted on 3/10...anyone heard anything about this

sounds like they're just trying to raise the cache of this terminator movie to me.

I'll be done with the Batman movies professionally if this happens.[Edited on April 7, 2009 at 1:07 PM. Reason : aaahh]

they just needed a replacement australian
4/7/2009 1:35:03 PM
The only way Bale isn't gonna be in the next one is if he leaves on his own accord. It doesn't matter how much of an ass he is, he is a good Bruce Wayne/Batman and the movie studios know how pissed off the fans will be if they don't bring him back.
4/7/2009 1:39:20 PM
What about
4/7/2009 1:40:52 PM
I think everyone has pretty much forgotten the incident on the set. It's not a big deal.
4/7/2009 1:40:55 PM
i'd be alright if that happenedbale's awesome as bruce wayne, but pretty damn weak as batman
4/7/2009 1:45:09 PM
How about Val Kilmer? Then maybe throw in Chris O'Donnell to appeal to teens?
4/7/2009 1:53:04 PM
chris o'donnell appealed to teens in the mid 90s...

NOa movie with this budget and this potential for return will NOT get an "on-the-rise" actor for the lead role.

Hot Toys does some incredible movie likenesses. Check out their Iron Man as well as Dutch Schaefer (Schwarzenegger) from Predator. The price is killer, though, averaging around $200 a pop.

Chris is in the mindset that he is unlikely to be able to top what was achieved with Dark Knight," reveals a Hollywood insider. "He has a number of new projects he's working on and Batman is not a priority for him right now. Christian is unlikely to want to do another one without Chris. He feels only he understands the dynamic of the character and so it could well be that there will have to be a new Batman and director if there is to be a third movie." http://www.imnotobsessed.com/2009/06/23/christian-bale-wont-do-another-batman-movienot sure the original source

this blows
6/24/2009 1:39:49 PM
i thought he admitted to the 3rd in the series always sucking and so he was gonna bow out for that and he said it months ago?
6/24/2009 2:15:00 PM
it would be a pretty smart move by Nolan and Bale, franklythere's no way that a third movie would live up to expectationsand they both have enough cachet now to pick and choose their projects
6/24/2009 2:35:19 PM
If true Im disappointed Nolan was not up for the challenge. I felt TDK had a cliffhanger ending and at least one more sequel is necessary. I would be much happier to have him say he was going to take his sweet time developing the right script. but if the studio has not been able to sign him after a year I would imagine this has legs.
6/24/2009 2:52:22 PM
Eh. I could see why you would call it a cliffhanger, but at the same time it ends with Batman walking away from his hero status because he believes that Gotham should have a real hero like Harvey Dent and not a vigilante.
6/24/2009 4:49:20 PM
I doubt anyone wants to follow the last batman movieyou dont want to end up like batman & robin, forever mockedbut i gotta say as bad as batman & robin is it is still fun to watch when it comes on tv
6/25/2009 10:10:40 PM
every time I see part of/this movie again I like it less.
6/25/2009 10:17:57 PM
i hate to state the obvious but under nolan's IMDB page, there is "untitled batman project" listed
6/25/2009 11:12:46 PM
Well he could still just be a producer of some sort and not direct it, especially if his brother writes it.
6/25/2009 11:14:24 PM
^^WB and Nolan had a handshake agreement to direct a third Batman when the company agreed to back his new flick.
6/26/2009 9:00:34 AM
I don't know that I buy that WB would not make some kind of announcement if that were the case/why they would not go ahead and make it official if that were the case.[Edited on June 26, 2009 at 6:11 PM. Reason : .]

I realize I'm not in the majority here, but she just comes across as too trashy for me. If true, Nolan definitely has a better knack for casting male characters than female ones.
8/26/2009 7:48:45 PM
what a horrible cast that would be. as least angelina jolie has the ability to add depth to a character. megan fox is eye candy and nothing else
8/26/2009 8:15:46 PM
jolie's on the threshold of being too oldregardless, the rumor isn't true
8/26/2009 8:18:03 PM
considering its The Sun reporting, and People magazine along with several other sources having already refuted this i'm going to say its only a rumor.Hell Christopher Nolan barely has Inception out the door, i don't think a script has even been laid out for another Batman. So yeah, i'm not buying it, or supporting it.
8/26/2009 8:58:47 PM
definitely dont support this. apart fom her being completely vapid, her toe thumbs arent catlike at all
8/26/2009 9:27:06 PM
This is complete bullshit and will definitely not happen.

ok?
8/27/2009 2:40:22 PM
I have an idea....why not just skip Catwoman?Michelle Pfeiffer ruined Batman Returns. Halle Berry ruined Catwoman.
8/28/2009 5:15:45 AM
Halle Berry wasn't playing Batman's Catwoman. She was playing a vaguely similar type of character with a wholly different story in a wholly different setting, and that character happened to use the Catwoman name licensed from DC.
