What are some more sites for engagement rings and gemstones? I'm especially interested in a site like blue nile where you can pick the stone, with lots of information, as well as the setting.I've gothttp://www.bluenile.com/http://www.varna.com/http://www.topazery.com/http://cherrypicked.com/http://www.ritani.com/[Edited on January 28, 2008 at 9:22 PM. I have a question inspired by ?topic=516191Does tinted moisturizer actually do anything for you guys tint-wise? I have never been able to tell even a tiny difference when using it. I just got some green-tinted moisturizer that is supposed to reduce redness, and it does jack. But that's been my experience with the normal stuff too. I appreciate the moisturizing effect and sunscreen, but if I buy a tinted product I would like to actually see it do something. If I just wanted moisturizer I'd use a different brand that I like better.[Edited on February 26, 2008 at 9:16 AM. Reason : .]

I've seen it do wonders on one of my more tan friends, but it on paler girls it didn't do anything. The tan girl also had her's matched to her skin tone at Sephora or somewhere and the other girls just got em from CVS.
2/26/2008 10:11:29 AM
Damn my paleness! I've mostly tried drugstore brands, but I've also tried Clinique stuff. I guess I just wasn't cut out to use it.
2/26/2008 10:17:07 AM
you can try going to one of those places that tone-matches or something. I'm sure they could suggest something useful
2/26/2008 10:21:50 AM
Would that be any different than Clinique? When I got the stuff there they told me what shade to get that would work best for me.
2/26/2008 10:25:50 AM
aah, I thought it was just clinique brand and not matched, I don't know then. Now we just wait to see what Ambrosia wears because she's pretty pale

Two new Loreal finds that I'm loving.Telescopic Mascara - the brush is MUCH smaller than a lot of the newer mascaras. It's not much of a volumizer, but it made an incredible length difference for my short lashes. Loreal HIP Cream Eyeliner - It comes with a small angled brush to apply it with. It definitely has a learning curve for application but seriously, once it's on, it does NOT smudge. Hopefully, I'll get better at applying it in thinner lines, but I have to say if the cat eye/major drama eyes are your thing, it's goooooooood!

any ladies out there good at dyeing hair want to swap services? i need someone to help me dye my hair and of my friends that usually help me, one is sick and the other one is too careless and kind of fucked up my hair last time. pls 2 help! i am good at coloring, can do highlights, and trims/simple haircuts
2/28/2008 1:47:08 AM
Try the Emerald Academy on Glenwood. They're good with color and have good prices since it's a teaching salon. It's associated with Paul Mitchell so they have good quality equipment, staff, training and students.
2/28/2008 1:51:25 AM
i have my own dye and stuff... i am looking to exchange services with someone else who is skilled at doing hair!

So I just did a sugar and honey mixture to exfoliate my face and wow! my skin is so smooth and it instantly shrunk my pores. I've been having problems with them being so big and nasty, so I'm using a pore minimizing wash and moisturizer, and a topical gel combine to make my skin look much better hopefullyNow I'll I need to do is get rid of the scars I got from zits back in the day when I would pop and pick at them too much...anyone have any ideas? I also kinda wanna even out my skin tone, I'm a little red in areas.I hate wearing foundation (at least while I have large pores) cause even when I barely put any on it ends up looking fake on me, so I'm trying the whole no make up thing for a while to get my skin back to good.

this has nothing to do with the previous post (sorry, i could use that same advice, haha) but i did find something new that i like. well, new to me. i usually don't like neutrogena stuff, but i got this "neutrogena sheers" stuff or "shimmer sheers" or something like that, and i like it a lot. it is really light, and well...sheer...and it makes your face glow instead of looking dead. and it doesn't highlight my dry winter skin.speaking of dry winter skin, i feel like i could put an entire thing of moisturizer on my face everyday, and it would STILL be dry. any good moisturizers out there? i'm thinking i need to switch.

^^^ I'm still nursing a container of L'oreal HydraFresh I got about two years ago. It's too strong for me to use in the summer when my skin is more oily, but it does exactly the right thing in the winter. Whenever I get a facial or anything, everyone always says, "Oh my God, your skin is so dry!'
3/4/2008 11:44:05 PM
the best tinted moisturizer is Organics Wear by Physicians Formula. It more for a light glow than coverage. Cheap too for about $11. Best moisturizer by far for me is a combination of Lancome's cell defense serum and renergie soin double performance. I got this as a free gift at Belk last weekend and its made my skin extremely even and soft.Does anyone know an eye cream that can help with dark circles?

i LOVE Etsy, and that corset is insane. <3<3<3

I really fucked up my hair the other day and IDK what to do from here...Basically, I attempted to use a color lightener but it only lightened my roots, not all my hair. So I look like a brassy skunk atm. Could I redye the whole thing or do I need to strip the color and then dye?(Can't afford to do anything professionally, and my hair is thin and fine. I'd prefer not killing all of it/having it all break off or something...)
3/18/2008 9:40:53 PM
^I would probably just dye over it, but you know how my hair looked when I dyed it constantly I dropped a pant size and I got some new jeans which fit everywhere but the waist where they gap in the back. how can I cheaply fix this? ps, I hate belts ]
3/20/2008 2:02:38 PM
A belt? All my pants fit that way.
3/20/2008 2:07:17 PM
any of you ladies go to southpoint? one of the little shops in the middle of the walkway there had some amazing stuff, they have this small block you rub on your nails that completely clears and shines them, it's really quite a difference, and some skin lotion that literally improved the tinge of my skin almost immediatelyI basically told her that having a penis I don't have a budget for these types of things but it was sitll impressive
3/20/2008 2:34:41 PM
^ You can get one of those buffers anywhere for pretty cheap - drugstore, Target, etc.
3/20/2008 3:31:49 PM
Belts aren't the proper way to fix gaping anyway. Misha, I'd just find a decent tailor and see what they can do. Or some stores that sell jeans (Buckle, etc) do tailoring/fitting on jeans you buy there. You could take them in there and ask if they would do it for whatever price...?I'd recommend a great tailor to you, but he's in Greensboro. But srsly, it's worth it to get them tailored for a proper fit if they're a decent pair of jeans. And congrats on dropping a size.
3/20/2008 3:36:31 PM
I know belts aren't the proper way, but she asked for a cheap way
3/20/2008 3:38:48 PM
no, i realize that. but a lot of tailors aren't that expensive and they know what they're doing.

I need to find barrettes and hair clips for grown* women.age not boob size
4/5/2008 8:08:13 PM
I got this a couple weeks ago to use in the daytime. It's FAR too heavy for me. I can't return it, I don't think, and I would feel skeezy trying to. So, this stuff that I've tried twice? I'll sell it to someone for $10. That same trip, I got this, in coffee bean. And then went to target and got a brush for it. And it just can't compete with my old eyeliner, so I'm getting rid of it, too. I used it once, with that brand new brush. $4.]

i need new black heels (like pump type heels not peep toe heels). i wish i could buy cute yellow or red heels or TEAL. but sigh, those aren't versatile
4/7/2008 8:36:21 PM
Yay I had to BTTT my favorite thread Makes me wanna go shopping....that and I got paid today haha!
4/8/2008 2:38:25 PM
where can i get a black shrug (or i guess i'd settle for a cute wrap or sweater) like ASAP. i have to go to a wedding this weekend. this is my dress:and i will probably only have time to go shopping on thursday. MAYBE tomorrow. i realize that i could probably get one at white house black market but i don't feel like paying $60. i have some pashmina type wraps but they're all colored and i don't like any of the colors with that dress. i just didn't know if anyone had seen this type of thing anywhere recently so i don't have to go to like 50 stores to find one. i want it to be fairly cheap, but just look normal (and not cheap). is this something like forever 21 would have? belks? limited? don't know where i'd go besides the easy banana republic and white house but i don't want to pay that much for a dumb wrap or cardigan or shrug. or if you have other suggestions of what to wear with it, please tell me. i mostly just need it for in the church and for anytime i'm outside incase it is chilllly.
4/8/2008 10:15:00 PM
i saw some of those in the j crew and banana republic stores down here today. (i'm sure they'd have them in raleigh stores as well.)
4/8/2008 10:18:13 PM
thanks maybe i'll just have to suck it up and spend the $$$. cause i really need one and have no time!!
4/8/2008 10:24:34 PM
banana republic cardigans are one of my staples, even though they can be priceyplus you'll probably use it a lot
4/8/2008 10:26:08 PM
i found this looking online briefly. i dunno though. seems pricey. but it is pretty and it would go with a lot. but i don't know if i like it. ahhh. maybe i will try to see if i can borrow something from a friend when i get to raleigh on fri. eeeek last minute.
