My husband pointed to the picture and said, "that is the only penis I have to worry about." Then I reminded him he could be gay. He looked sad for a second and said, "Well at least he can't get pregnant. "

Lol.

MaryClaire Lynn was born on 10/21 at 3:57AM weighing 5lbs even and 20" long. I don't know how to add pictures of her sweet face I unfortunately had a "perfect storm" of complications. First, I go from 1cm to fully dilated within 2 hours of waiting for blood tests to be sure I could get an epidural- so I felt way more then I wanted to feel. Luckily once I get it it works great and I get to rest for a bit before pushing. Push for like 30 minutes and out she came and what appeared to be no issues. Stayed in labor and delivery until after the nurse switch at 7 and then get moved to the mommy and baby floor. The rest of the day is luckily a big blur for me. As soon as I am moved I start to be in a lot of pain (epidural is wearing off at this point so I could have been in pain before this and just not known it). Doctors discover that I am bleeding internally and get rushed to radiology to find the bleed- they end up going through my femoral artery to stop the bleeding. Because of the bleeding, I am very swollen so my uterus can no longer drain so then have to rushed to surgery to have a catheter inserted into my uterus and bladder and "my girly parts" lanced to reduce pressure. Doctors finally get it all under control by about 8PM that night.I end up having to stay in the hospital for another 5 days (we were able to convince them to let me leave after 5 days since I had been in the hospital for 2 weeks). I'm going to have to have another surgery to reconstruct so I look and function correctly again. My OB said in his 20 plus years of delivering babies hes never seen these complications with seemingly such a "easy" delivery and for me to have such a small baby. He also said that should I have any more kids that I wont be delivering them vaginally!I have to laugh because before giving birth one of my biggest fears was the tearing that can occur- and well I wish that had happened! Long story short though- MaryClaire is perfect and I will be too! But I hope that everyone else's labor goes more smoothly than mine

Congratulations! Crazy story. Glad everything turned out ok.

I cannot get comfortable in bed and am have three more months to only get bigger. I make a little fort out of my standard tempurpedic pillow, a king sized pillow, and a body pillow. Most nights it is my hip that hurts but sometimes I just keep making a hand or an arm fall asleep.
12/19/2013 2:54:14 AM
I never got very comfortable either, but I know a few that ended up sleeping in the recliner their final trimester. Mine was t ever that bad, but I did toss and turn a whole whole lot.
12/19/2013 8:14:45 AM
We have new living room furniture coming Saturday the includes a recliner. It might be my next step. It isn't so bad when I dont have to work the next day but a terrible and painful nights sleep is not good for my back, hip, or patience. All of which I need to nanny a one year old.
12/19/2013 10:14:23 AM
Bed rest is kind of sucky but I am definitely catching up on lost sleep.
1/21/2014 5:00:09 PM
due date is tomorrow - no signs of the baby coming yet
1/21/2014 5:54:30 PM
Good luck!My due date is March 24th. Baby tried to come January 7th.
1/21/2014 7:11:11 PM
I warned you b4!
1/21/2014 7:14:36 PM
You are gonna need to leave me the fuck alone about this. I'm warning you. The doctors found zero reason he came early. Now shut the fuck up about it.

That's OK. Don't get mad.[Edited on January 21, 2014 at 7:47 PM. Reason : Relax]

^GTFO.On a lighter note, our #2 should be here within 3 weeks! A little girl this time, Anna Elizabeth. I'm already wrapped around her finger and she's not even here yet. I am really excited! My bride is also pretty happy about seeing the finish line, she's hit that 36 week wall of, "OK, I'm over this whole pregnancy thing."Congrats to all those expecting and those who've recently delivered!

So our insurance supposedly covers a breast pump 100%. We have United Healthcare and my husband called them and they gave him the names of three companies to choose from.GenadyneEdge ParkByram HealthcareI chose Byram because you could order online and it seemed like less hoops to jump through. They call my doctor and get the "prescription" for me. They will not send the pump out until baby is born, though, or until the due date. So we will have some calls to make if he comes early which is very much expected at this point. They do prioritize NICU babies. I will follow up on how all this goes down. You can sign up any time during your pregnancy and up to 12 months after birth. My husband said it basically ends up being a rental that you keep after 10 months. We shall see how it goes.
1/23/2014 8:43:43 AM
our insurance covered 100% of the pump up to a few hundred and it arrived today - the company we ordered through (i have no idea who that really is but can ask) was able to send the pump up to 30 days prior to the due date
1/24/2014 10:24:35 PM
UHC is the problem, not the company. They dont allow shipment until baby is born or 5 days prior to due date.
1/25/2014 5:13:09 AM
UHC is great and so is Rex Hospital. They will make sure that you have everything that you need before you are discharged, especially if your baby comes early or has any other complication. I was very impressed. Because Silas left the hospital on a feeding tube, we had boxes of insurance covered formula and supplies delivered to our house less than 24 hours after being discharged from the hospital. The insurance company gave us no problems and the hospital helped us coordinate everything. I think that you will be just fine with the breast pump no matter when the baby arrives, especially if you ask either lactation or your discharge coordinator for assistance with getting the pump on time.
1/25/2014 9:22:08 AM
We do love Rex. They were wonderful during my preterm labor experience. Sent me home with lots of maternity pads, personal cleansing cloths, and whatever you call the human version of puppy pads in case I had any more surprise bleeding. The housekeeping staff promised to find me a room with a better view if they ended up keeping me longer and everyone just seemed so personally involved and interested in our situation and they took wonderful care of me.
1/25/2014 10:33:27 AM
They're called Chux.
1/25/2014 11:07:31 AM
Ah.
1/25/2014 11:10:53 AM
Periods after babies are the worst. That is all.
1/25/2014 11:42:01 AM
Lots of contractions today. Staying in actual bed for bed rest. Part of my fears of not being able to breast feed have been laid to resf today as well. Not giving specifics. Use your imagination.
1/26/2014 6:01:02 PM
Breastfeeding a grown man is nothing like breastfeeding a squealing wiggly baby who refuses to latch properly. I've met two types of BFers: mommy milk goddesses and bleeding cracked nipple warriors. But if you want to do it, you can. Your body is perfectly designed to nourish your baby.
1/26/2014 7:35:14 PM
Gross. No one has suckled my teat. You used too much imagination .
1/26/2014 7:47:28 PM
3 more months...
1/27/2014 8:09:55 AM
Yay! I technically have 2 months left. But the doctors dont think he is staying in that long now.
1/27/2014 8:17:34 AM
we are less than two weeks from our due date
1/27/2014 8:45:31 AM
and healthy baby boy delivered early this morning! it was QUICK... too quick for an epidural... the needle was in her back and then she had the urge to push and they had to yank it out and said "sorry!"
1/31/2014 8:16:07 PM
^ congrats!

Welcome to the thread! You end up talking to yourself a lot unless someone else is pregnant. Congratulations and good luck with your pregnancy! I wish you restful nights, small ankles, and no bedrest!

Congrats, Kiwi! Good luck with the pregnancy.
5/4/2014 11:51:26 PM
congrats kiwi! Is this your first? Has it "set in" yet? What has been the best and worst part of pregnancy so far?
5/5/2014 12:30:15 AM
Congrats, kiwi!
5/5/2014 8:33:49 AM
Aw, thanks guys. I was trying to figure out what terrible thing I did to tww to get ignored. It is my first baby! It hasn't really sunk in even though we are almost halfway there and the baby goodies are pouring in. The best part is how well everything is going, I was expecting to be miserable the entire time. Knock on some serious wood. The worse? My allergies and the fact I can't take anything, they've been awful. Anyways, I just got excited and wanted to share the joy, I've been pretty hush about my personal life on here so thanks for the love guys....finally. Lollers
