umm...or you just don't care. Which, in my opinion, would describe only like the vast majority of people on the planet.[Edited on December 29, 2011 at 11:54 PM. Reason : ok, maybe not vast majority, but a hell of a lot of people.]

With even a fairly lightweight case, the iPad can handle a fall from 100,000 feet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4xNcF6T7Is

this thing sucks so much shit, 1 button UI...what the fuck...downloaded the most popular crosswords app and can't play it silently....you can turn key clicks off on general settings, off inside the program, turn your volume to 0 and you still get key clicks...fuck geniuses
1/12/2012 10:50:11 AM
If you think that UI sucks, look at Windows 7. It's a zero-knob UI. There are literally no wheels I can turn to move my windows. WTF, Microsoft?

you would

buy an ipad 2 now, or wait for the ipad 3 to be announced and the price to drop?
1/18/2012 10:49:01 AM
wait & buy an ipad 3
1/18/2012 10:52:30 AM
I see no reason why you would want to buy until the ipad 3 comes out

I've used flash on a TouchPad. And that alone is the convincing I needed to be 100% sure that Apple made the right call in not supporting it on the iPad.Also, do people actually use the camera on their iPad2? I know it's been a year since the 2 came out and I'm still plenty happy with my regular old iPad. Not one time in that year have I even remotely wished that it had a camera, front or rear facing.

Flash support on mobile devices is complete shit. And the fact that Apple didn't have it from the beginning forced most sites to come up with what ended up being superior alternatives. It's to to point now to where it's not something that you miss, and anyone that uses the old "the iPad doesn't support Flash" argument are just grasping at meaningless straws. Might as well point out how the iPhone doesn't have support for copy and paste too. What's that? They added that one already? Shit, lemme cross that one off the list.TL;DR: the iPad is better off without Flash.
1/20/2012 8:20:29 PM
i definitely agree a product with as much marketshare as the ipad is going to dictate how people develop mobile sites, avoiding .flv videos, etcbut the flash-based websites i've visited on my touchpad in both webos and android boots didnt give me any problems at all...and while setting up someones ipad2 a couple months ago i did find some sites that were basically inaccessible because of no flash support...but i also heard there is some kind of workaround/mod/jailbreak/somethingi'm not here to bash the ipad2, its a lot more responsive than my touchpad, but i also dont know why they wouldnt have it by now

1/20/2012 10:05:33 PM
i think some people just want to be able to get the exact same experience of a website that they visit from their computer when they visit it on their mobile device...i hate when i'm in the android boot on my touchpad and visit a website and they default to their m.website.com since they detect android, even though the full website works fine if i manually paste a linkits not the biggest gripe, but to me the more compatibility, the bettersome apps are great for specific purposes, others are oversimplified and cut out some features of regular PC/Mac browsing]

1/20/2012 10:43:49 PM
what kind of websites were you loading to say the flash support on the touchpad is half baked complete shit?i've had my touchpad a few months and my only issue with web browsing was a refresh issue on TWW, but i believe an OS upgrade fixed thathonestly though i'd love an example of a website that uses flash that is really shitty on the tablet, so i can try and pull it up myself and see what you mean[Edited on January 20, 2012 at 11:35 PM. Reason : unless of course you're posting from your ipad ]

Dude its money to be made for not having full on flash on the iPad or iPod, why the hell would Apple let you play flash games for free when you can pay to play them?? Why the hell would Apple let you watch video streaming like justin.tv when they knwo you will pay for an App to use the website?? Yeah, full on flash when you can buy and App or get a free one and be spammed to death?? Come on man lets get back to dicussing the practical and REAL reason why there is no Flash on Apple.

If you actually really believe anything that you are saying and not trolling you are one stupid muthafucker.

Yes, that's exactly how I feel about your posts. You're either poorly trolling, or very stupid. Or I suppose both.[Edited on January 21, 2012 at 1:04 AM. Reason : But given your history, I know the answer already. ][Edited on January 21, 2012 at 1:05 AM. Reason : It's both, for those playing along at home.]
1/21/2012 1:03:50 AM
Haha, you're sorta funny.
1/21/2012 1:05:33 AM
I'm glad we seem to be moving away from Flash. It's resource-intensive, and almost always completely unnecessary.
1/21/2012 11:48:35 AM
The stock Webos browser is useless for typing posts on tww. Once you get past one line, it's a crap shoot to navigate the text (stock Android browser on bionic had the samve problem). And it will often do this weird thing where it auto corrects after each letter.Regarding mobile flash, basically any stream on lshunter is impossible to use because you can't dismiss the ads.

anyone replaced an ipad2 Digitizer(ie screen)? Recommendations? My 2 year old got a chair, moved it to the bar, climbed up onto said bar, grabbed the ipad where it lay, and then decided to go apeshit and toss it down on the ground in anger when she could not get past my screen password.FML

It haunts me with slow mo instant replay in my head ... Thinking about using ScreenTek ... either buying the digitizer and replacing it myself ... or sending it in.Just wondering how flimsy these parts are and if its worth the extra money to send it in.Shipped/packed/fixed/returned for $140 ... Digitizer shipped to me for $58

I have no experience fixing iPads, but I would love to see photos of the carnage.
2/27/2012 2:23:57 PM
I fixed my wife's iPod digitizer and would imagine it's fairly similar...prying up around the edges and making sure not to destroy the ribbon cable in the process. It's not too bad.

2/27/2012 3:08:11 PM
I replaced the one on my iPad 1, and I don't recommend doing it yourself.Long story short, I ended up selling it as broken on ebay for almost $300, and it was the shitty 16GB wifi version. If I had to do it again, I could probably do it easily in about 30 minutes, but the lessons I learned the first time weren't worth it.
2/27/2012 3:16:47 PM
did you have the video tutorials available when you did it?
2/27/2012 4:28:36 PM
if you're near an Apple store, take it by and see what they say. While I think it's over, they have been known to just swap them out when people are honest about what happened. If nothing else, I've noticed their "repair" (they usually swap them out for a refurb) prices are often about what you'd pay someone else to fix it.
