tennessee def @ houstonordetroit def @ tampa bayand why is everyone picking up michael bennett? other than the trade, i know nothing about the guy[Edited on October 16, 2007 at 7:29 PM. Reason : add Ø]

Tennesee's D out of those two....TB's O-line can't run block, but they are pretty good at pass blocking, which will keep the Lions from getting alot of sacks.Bennett is being picked up across most leagues because he was just traded to TB. Graham rushed for something like 27 yards on 13 carries last week, so they are willing to try anything, including starting Bennett. I dont think he would be that big of a pickup if it werent right in the middle of the bye week season. Worth a flyer on in 12 man and 10 man leagues that are highly competitive or in a bye week crisis, though I wouldnt recomend starting him for a few weeks. The Michael Bennett of old, who started in Minnesota, was lightning fast and a great receiver out of the backfield. He looks to have lost a step or two, but has bulked up exponentially to now be able to run between the tackles.Again, anytime you can get a likely starter of waivers in week 6/7, it's worth a shot.
10/16/2007 7:34:27 PM
him or Sammy Morris thenkinda scraping the barrel here
10/16/2007 7:36:28 PM
Morris likely will be out this week and potentially week 8 as well.By that time, Maroney should be back strong. If you need help immediately, go with Bennett.

ok, since derek anderson is on a bye, i have two choices:damon huard v. oakland or kyle boller v. buffalo (horrible pass defense...but its still kyle boller)what do you think?also, if javon walker plays, do you play him over patrick crayton and bernard berrian?
10/16/2007 9:22:51 PM
I'm going against the grain here and saying that you should start Boller over Huard.Oakland's pass D is still really good, as we saw last week when they played a San Diego team that is very similar to KC. Both have a great RB, an awesome TE, limited WR's and SD even has a better QB in my opinion. Similar to last week, I think that game will be won on the ground, with LJ getting the scores and yards.Boller will be facing the terrible pass D, but will still manage to get 200 yards and 2 scores this week. 1 to McGahee and 1 to.....Musa Smith. I dont think the WR's will get a ton of yards here, but I do see at least 1 TD from a check down or screen pass.I would wait to start Walker for another week, as they are facing Pittsburgh and it will be tough for the Broncos to get him in the flow of the game. Start Boller, Crayton (facing a bad Vike's D), and Berrian (playing with a hot Griese right now and a below average secondary).- The Guru
10/16/2007 9:31:07 PM
well i've got 2 receiver slots, and housh is currently in one, so it's picking 1 out of crayton, berrian, and walker.looks like its between crayton and berrian.
10/16/2007 9:35:33 PM
what's the scoring format?I really like Crayton over Berrian as well. Really, you can't run on the Vikes, so I think it will be a big weekend for Romo, Owens, Crayton & Witten.Go with Crayton
10/16/2007 9:38:40 PM
pick 1 qbKitna or BreesPick 2 rbThomas JonesA. PettersonF. GoreM. Lynch
10/16/2007 9:54:35 PM
kitnaapgore
10/16/2007 9:59:56 PM
Brees - ATL is terrible.T. Jones - Cincy's run D is one of the worst in the league.M. Lynch - Not a great match up, but it will be a low scoring game and he will stay active***why not the othersKitna: a big time scorer, but the Buc's D is no joke and they will force a fumble and get at least 2 INT'sA Peterson: The Cowboys are gonna jump on the Vikes and limit his effectiveness.F. Gore: The same can be said here. I think Gore has a chance to be effective, but I think the hot Giants offense is going to force the 9ers to throw more than they anticipated.
10/16/2007 10:02:45 PM
^i'd agree with those but go with AP over lynch.
10/17/2007 9:11:26 AM
Panthro, what the hell man. Do you ever check your PMs?
10/17/2007 10:58:40 AM
would any of you drop Warrick Dunn to get J. Norwood?I need to fill the gap of RB and now that Michael Bennett might start, I am not sure who I should pick up.Also, someone has proposed a trade with me for Steven Jackson, they would give me DeShaun Foster and Michael Pittmanobviously, that is not a great trade but he also has the following RBs:Travis HenryBrandon JacobsRudi JohnsonMy RBs are:S. JacksonB. LeonardJones DrewW. Dunn[Edited on October 17, 2007 at 11:38 AM. Reason : what do you all think?]
10/17/2007 11:31:48 AM
Pittman is gonna be out until at least December
10/17/2007 11:50:32 AM
what's maroney gonna do this weekend? should i pick up kevin faulk? they do play the dolphins so i doubt the pats will rush maroney back against them... and with sammy morris out... faulk could have a big day.drop buckhalter and add faulk? (i added buckhalter when westbrook got banged up a couple weeks ago.)
10/17/2007 12:03:00 PM
Maroney will be back and taking the bulk of the carriesBulkhalter is gonna also take a back seat to WestbrookFaulk might be the place to go since Morris is out but neither are really good starting optionsand since no one answered my original question I will just keep reposting it until I get a satisfactory answer
10/17/2007 12:09:57 PM
i think i would keep dunn until norwood takes the starting spot from him. norwood gets a big run everynow and then, but that seems to be it.who would ya'll start at RB?steven jackson (doubtful) @ seamarshawn lynch vs. baltimorekevin faulk @ miamichael bennett @ detwarrick dunn jamal lewis (bye)i'm trying to get dunn off waivers right now so he's not technically on my team yet. i have lynch and faulk starting.... do i start bennett or dunn instead of one or the other?
10/17/2007 12:18:06 PM
lynch is the starter, you start lyncheven though its Baltimore he will still get more carries
10/17/2007 12:36:40 PM
Eagles D vs Chi or Colts D vs Jac?
10/17/2007 12:57:44 PM
EaglesInd and Jax will be a slugfest
10/17/2007 1:04:08 PM
need to start 3 WR's:santonio holmes @ denveranquan boldin @ washingtonpatrick crayton vs minnesotacalvin johnson vs tampa bayronald curry vs kansas cityi've got crayton going, and then holmes if he stays healthy. after that i was gonna go with boldin if he's healthy enough to play, but washington has solid pass defense and he'll have rattay throwing to him. so i was kinda considering starting calvin even if boldin were to play this week. thoughts?
10/17/2007 1:10:31 PM
i think you are right on it
10/17/2007 1:11:34 PM
^^ Holmes is going to play so feel safe starting him. I have the same problem with Boldin. Have him in both my leagues, but I have reasonably solid backups so I am going to probably bench him this week because I think he'll struggle coming back from 3 weeks off and because Rattay is a joke.
10/17/2007 1:19:29 PM
so go with calvin over boldin? the cards have a bye in week 8 so maybe by week 9 boldin will be even healthier and maybe warner will be back.
10/17/2007 1:22:28 PM
^ it really is a tough call because your two other receivers (Johnson and Curry) are both facing tough defenses too. Need some advice from some of you. Just got offered this trade:I get: Torry and PenningtonI give: Rivers and I'd probably drop Roddy WhiteRivers is my 3rd QB in a 2-QB start league (have Eli and Romo) and I normally don't play him. Rivers is basically a bye fill-in and match-up play guy for me. I could use Torry, but I already am good at WR with Holmes, Brandon Marshall, Boldin, Steve Smith (the good one), Roddy White, and Stallworth. We start 3 WRs and I have a flex.My inclination is to say no because the Rams are awful and Torry is not getting any stats, but Pennington could put up numbers similar to Rivers so it's like getting Torry for White. What do you think??
10/17/2007 1:39:21 PM
brian leonard /steven jacksonand michael pittmanfor ronnie browndo you think he'll bite? and is this smart for me to offer?my RBs would be Edge and Ronnie Brown, with Jamal Lewis as a backup.[Edited on October 17, 2007 at 1:49 PM. Reason : k]
10/17/2007 1:49:06 PM
Koren Robinson has been re-instated by the NFL
10/17/2007 3:21:27 PM
10/17/2007 3:26:05 PM
^^^ You are offering a bunch of injured trash on crappy offensive teams for a top 5 RB (so far).I wouldn't take that trade.
10/17/2007 3:27:30 PM
Ya, so far Ronnie Brown is this year's Frank Gore. Virtually no other offense but him.
10/17/2007 3:27:53 PM
wonder if Koren is worth picking up?.....I'd have to drop curry or j-cotch, or maybe a back up RB.if anyone out there has holt and j-cotch, you gotta pick up koren.....you've just got to.
10/17/2007 3:43:49 PM
^and they can pick up Arizona's defense while they're at it
10/17/2007 3:56:57 PM
I am going to wait before I pick up KRob.If he does play and nobody really notices, he could be a steal on the waiver wire.
10/17/2007 4:16:34 PM
K-Rob will be looking at #3 WR at best, so I'm not really jumping on him just yet.
10/17/2007 4:37:26 PM
what about jamal lewis for jerious norwood and chris chambers OR donte stallworthis that a smart move?
10/17/2007 5:40:55 PM
^no, unless you are getting the second half of that deal.Lewis is still the primary back, but Wright has proven to be a capable back and will slowly eat away at Jamal's carries. If Stallworth is for real and this isn't a one or two game fluke, he is a VERY serviceable option and is a good low #2, solid #3 WR even in 10 man leagues.Norwood is part of Petrino's youth movement. I think he will eventually get more carries, but Petrino will let Dunn go as the starter for the remainder of the year. With that said, I liken Dunn and Norwood to Julius Jones and MB3. JJ starts, but MB3 gets in the game when it counts.Going foward, Norwood is the more likely of the two to start finding paydirt, but these are the Falcons here.regardless, if you can get rid of Jamal before his schedule gets tough and pick up Norwood and Stallworth, you have helped your team tremendously.
10/17/2007 8:11:04 PM
MJD, Lamont, or Brandon Jacobs to start with Willie Parker this week?
10/17/2007 10:41:52 PM
I don't understand why ATL would start Leftwich for the rest of the season but not start Norwood instead of Dunn?
10/17/2007 11:01:31 PM
^They are not starting Leftwich because he is younger....they need a QB and have already given up on Harrington. Leftwich and Harrington are about the same age.[Edited on October 17, 2007 at 11:21 PM. Reason : Joey just turned 29 and Leftwich is 27]
10/17/2007 11:19:59 PM
^^^I like Willie Parker and Maurice Jones-DrewDidn't Harrington fuck up his ankle Monday night? I missed most of the game cause I was at the Bobcats game but I thought I remembered hearing that Harrington tweaked something in his legAs far as Norwood versus Dunn...last year they were both pretty solid with a good O-Line and obviously the threat of a scrambling QB...this year neither are as good...Norwood cause of the O-Line and no Vick...Dunn for the same reasons...plus he's getting old...I thought Norwood would be the starter but new coaching = new gameplan...I'm not big on anybody on Atlanta's team...not even Crumpler
10/17/2007 11:27:38 PM
But Norwood knows the offense and I think actually has performed better than Dunn. I guess he is not that good of a blocker is the main reason but it's because everyone knows it's best to rattle Harrington into mistakes. Same will go for Leftwich soon.
10/17/2007 11:27:40 PM
^probably some elderly loyalty shitspeaking of ATL...didnt their stud DE John Abraham get injured Monday Night also? they are in trouble...good time to be a Panthers or Bucs fan
10/17/2007 11:29:39 PM
Assuming Maroney plays this week, here are my choicesPick 2:(a probably semi-health) Maroney @MiamiLenDale White @ HoustonMarshawn Lynch vs. Baltimore
10/17/2007 11:31:44 PM
^my brief thoughts:- Miami has the worst run defense of the 3- Lynch is having the best season at RBI'd probably go with those two but if Maroney is hurt and it does end up being Faulk and Eckel getting most of NE's carries, then I'd go Lendale and Lynch
10/17/2007 11:36:25 PM
tom brady for carson palmer and braylon edwards?
10/18/2007 12:12:45 AM
^ no for whoever is giving up brady. Not only do palmer and edwards barely have more combined points than brady, Palmer and Edwards don't compensate for the increase in uncertainty of point production. To make this deal worth it, the two offered players should average about 3.5 TDs with a combined standard deviation of around a TD or so.[Edited on October 18, 2007 at 12:20 AM. Reason : fsd]
10/18/2007 12:15:05 AM
i would be giving him up...the rest of my team is pretty depleted...i'm holding out hope that ste jackson can assemble some sort of a season when he returns...i have managed to 5-1 so far though, i feel like i need to make some moves...but yea, i do not want to part with brady
10/18/2007 12:19:43 AM
depends on whether or not you think that not only will brady keep up his insane pace, but even if he does, will palmer continue to "struggle" once rudi comes back and opens the passing game back up]
