When was the last time a tournament team had a walk-on getting 10+ minutes per game?I'm glad to add the legacy player, but people saying "Tyler Lewis 2.0" are off on the talent comparison at least in this stage in his development. If he is at Tyler's level when he was a freshman by the time Corch Jr is a senior in the program, I'll be pleased/impressed/surprised/happy for him.

According to Vegas, the over/under on number of titles that Corch Jr will lead us to is 2.5

Only one person has stated their expectations of him being a Lewis 2.0.So I think you meant: you person.
5/8/2014 1:10:31 PM
ewalk was literally the only person to say he could be lewis 2.0. This dude is looking at Chase Cannon type minutes and everyone knows it.

Purvis has already contacted Seth.
5/9/2014 9:18:46 AM
^^ Read online that he played a lot of PG at MD, but wanted to switch to SG. Would make sense for us with Turner and Lee gone after the '14-'15 season. Scored something like 13 PPG last year at Maryland - decent 3 point shooter.
5/9/2014 9:28:48 AM
You got it backwards. He wants to play PG, but was stuck at SG in Maryland.
5/9/2014 9:31:57 AM
5/9/2014 9:35:52 AM
Does this mean that Cat and Gott think that Cat will go pro after this year? Seth Allen is not going to transfer to be a backup. He averaged 14 PPG for an ACC team.
5/9/2014 11:27:24 AM
What do we know about Jessie Govan. Gonna take an UV in summer at State according to Zagoria. 4* big man.
5/9/2014 1:01:19 PM
^^there is no way in hell Cat will go pro after this year. he would have to be absolutely phenomenal for that to be a realistic possibility. Gott just wants to get somebody to back him up, or at least get some depth at PG for later in case Cat leaves after his junior year.
5/9/2014 3:12:11 PM
^^^ I think it means we'd like to have more than one PG on the roster
5/9/2014 4:10:49 PM
problem with our PG situation is that it seems anytime we get more than one of them on our team...one of them transfers.
5/9/2014 4:14:09 PM
besides lewis and harrow, what are you basing that assesment on? (transfer happen on all teams)
5/9/2014 4:21:07 PM
Jaqawn Raymond
5/9/2014 4:30:23 PM
Well if you're going to go there, don't forget Julius Mays and Marques Johnson (more of a combo guard).I think every transfer has been its own unique situation. Keep in mind that Lewis wasn't originally a Gottfried recruit. It seemed like Lewis didn't really love Gott's coaching style, which has him screaming at the players from time to time. Not that that's a rarity in coaching, but whatever.I feel like it'd be potentially more concerning if this were happening a few years from now with two guys that Gottfried had recruited entirely from the beginning. Even then, transfers are just a fact of life these days. We'll be in good hands with Cat and Lacey. It is definitely a huge deal that we land a very solid PG recruit or transfer that can play in 2015/16.
5/9/2014 4:40:20 PM
No surprise since he will start, but Seth Allen to Va Tech..

hes got a visit set up to NC State at the end of the month that he may or may not take depending on how tired of the process he gets.

release from LOI means there's no year to sit out, correct?
5/19/2014 9:19:20 PM
^ACC has a rule, I believe, that if he signed a LOI with Wake, if he picks another ACC school he'll still have to sit out 1 year(versus the 2 for a normal transfer in-conference). Word is that Wake and NC State both went to the ACC and asked that this 1-year rule be waived, but I'm not really sure that it's going to happen. Problem is the ACC drags ass with all decisions anyway and Mitchell is suppose to be deciding this week. I can't see a scenario where he picks us without having confirmation he won't have to sit out a year.
5/20/2014 8:26:20 AM
I wonder why Wake would have any interest in helping him go to us. Maybe it's a "fuck the blues" type of old Tobacco Road mentality. I don't have anything against Wake, though. I hope that they become relevant again at some point.[Edited on May 20, 2014 at 12:15 PM. Reason : .]
5/20/2014 12:15:30 PM
Maybe because fucking with an 18 year olds life is a shitty thing to do. Hopefully that's what they think
5/20/2014 12:16:54 PM
I mean, the kid signed his LOI for the coach they forced out. If they try and force any restrictions on his transferring it'll look bad to recruits and only hurt them moving forward. Kid did nothing wrong in this case, there wasn't any tampering from anyone, Wake is just trying to do the right thing by the kid.
5/20/2014 12:21:58 PM
^^definitely not what App State's mentality was
5/20/2014 12:33:49 PM
Sounds like that was more of Capel's decision?
5/20/2014 12:36:37 PM
Gainey had a lot to do with it, actually
5/20/2014 12:40:53 PM
yeah, the risk that a kid goes to nc state to play basketball is nowhere near as bad as looking as petty and pathetic as app state.
