One kid is a deal-breaker for me. Six kids is so much overkill that it's funny.

i haven't taken it this slow dating someone in a long time. i don't know if that is a good or bad thing.

I think you're thinking too hard about it.

that's what people always tell me...that I over analyze it

at first i thought i was...wondering if taking it slow meant i wasn't really as interested in her as i wanted to be. stuff like that.

but i think it's just that this one is starting off in a different but good way. it's not like ones in the past where i've felt like i've had to spend all my time with the girl in the beginning stages. that usually ends up with a rush to the finish line and a pretty quick fade out after that. i actually like this better.

For match, yeah looking for at least medium term relationships now. I can't do the casual, and I have a really hard time pretending to be interested in something or someone I'm not.

medium term...that's a new one.

eh give it a shot. you can create a profile for free. do that and see if there is anyone on there you would consider sending a message to. if there are multiple, pay up and give it a shot.

I'd take it slow seeing that you didn't take much time between the ole girl moving out and this new one

yeah, that's another thing in the back of my head too. i was talking to someone about that who brought that point and i was saying that yeah, it's only been shy of six months since that relationship ended. But honestly, i was mentally checked out of it months before. So maybe it's not as quick a "rebound" as it seems. but the only that matters to most people is when it "officially" ended.

^^ haha. Well i've only had < 6 month relationships and more less then that. I'll give it a shot again.. I like the way okc breaks apart profiles a bit more, makes skimming a lot easier.

you could search on match and see if the girl is on OKC too.

Never been a fan of trying to determine the pace of a relationship in terms of, "we've been hanging out too much, I need to scale it back."

If you want to hang out with someone, then hang out with them. It doesn't matter if you've hung out with them 5 nights in a row...if you want to do something with them again the next night...then fucking do it. If you'd rather hang out with a buddy and watch a game, then do that. I think you start fucking up when you try and set boundaries.

Take caution for the big things like moving in together and engagements....but don't hold back just because you think its the right thing to do.

thankfully i don't think this girl will require a 10 page thread to decide if it's a good idea to start a relationship with or not

that's already a bonus

^^bingo

when you start placing barriers on it as far as when to hang out...you're screwing up the flow.

go with it...roll with it.

holy shit. on several levels.

it is going to take a VERY special type of guy, a very specific type, to walk into a relationship with a woman with six kids. I hope she has her search broadened to "the entire US", because that is not going to be an easy find.

also, I'm really curious how/why this divorce went down. I'd love to know at what point their relationship went sour, and if they kept having kids after realizing that.

my boyfriend has two kids, and watching him and his ex juggle them and navigate co-parenting issues for just the two of them is insane. I can't imagine what that would look like with SIX. I think after #3 you should just resign yourself to the next 18 years together, regardless of the climate of your marriage (unless there is abuse or something of the sort).

Just spent a few entertaining moments perusing back through that thread. I probably would have cut slappy1 a lot more slack had I known she was boning the married dude in that thread. And lol at this:

for what it's worth, they had been physically and legally separated for months before we got together. CA is a no-fault state and no, I had nothing to do with the demise of their marriage.

slappy1 probably looks pretty damn good in that bathing suit. Winemakers can usually bang whatever the fuck they want...which is probably what caused that dude's divorce.

How often would, "You want to come out and see my winery?", not end up in at least a blow job within the hour? Not often.

Gotta be at least an 8 to to make a winemaker settle down.

Shouldn't be any confusion. My statement is pretty spot-on. It works in reverse as well. I'd probably bang a 6...maybe even a 5 if she had her own winery (decent...not Duplin, NC winery). But it would have to be an ugly 5...not a fat 5...I'm still not down with round.

^^I just thought it was hilarious. I actually may have chortled.

and I sent that to him (because of the funny) and his response: "Well, that person clearly hasn't seen/met many winemakers...
most are 50-60 year old men and not very attractive"

(mine not included )

I like that he fancies himself at least an 8 and too good for Duplin wines.

That's awesome.

I've dated a few wine reps who were always having to host wine makers and winery owners...even the 50 and 60 year old creepsters crushed it. It's pretty much on par with being a professional athlete (again...we're not talking Duplin wineries here...that would be like being the back-up catcher for the Durham Bulls).
