But the point is, these athletes are tied to institutions called Universities. Doesn't NCAA have a rule which requires a minimum graduation rate among scholarship athletes?

how so? you already demonstrated that you didn't even understand my point (partly due to my writing skills). my point was not that college athletes should always finish college. although some people seem to think that was my point. if a freshman is lottery pick, of course he should take the millions.

no. what you said is that athletes should take into account that they might get injured and therefore they should stay in school to get a degree to "fall back on".

this is asinine. if someone gets paid the league minimum in either the nfl or nba for one year, they've already made more than enough money to make up for the lost tuition and room/board.

i guess if your point is that guys who aren't projected to even make a team for one year shouldn't leave early, then that's true, but it's also such a simple concept that bothering to point this out is even dumber.

no, no, no.

somebody compared athletes leaving early to the nba to bill gates dropping out, and i pointed out the difference in the situations. that was my point, that they were different. yes, it was dumb to even address the comparison, i know.

i've stated several times that if a player is going to get paid, and that's what they want, then they should jump to the nba. of course, those that could potentially improve their draft status and get paid twice as much if they stay in college one more year should consider that (while also considering injury).

It wouldn't be as fun if we won the ACC only because they were an NIT team. I'll be happy if all 3 triangle teams are top 15 (just as long as we come out ahead).

UNC still doesn't have a legit center.

We last won it in 1989. Time to get that monkey off our back first than worry about how we do it.

'87 actually.

We were "regular season champs" in '89, but that's meaningless compared to the ACC tournament.

fans at the game are saying between 4-7K. On espn3 they won't show the homeside but its pretty sad looking in the two end zones and on the other side.

I wish someone would sneak a camera in when they're figuring up attendance. My guess is one person in one section = +100 to the count
