Disagree. Optimal lineups are significantly more important than theoretical positions. He said small dick read the thread

First the ACL tear and now this...Levi always fucking shit up for us!
4/13/2013 2:37:02 PM
Levi was a major recruit too. Top 40.Guy played great in the red/white game nailing threes and then completely sucked the first ~15 games of his freshman year. Looked scared all the time.Conference play starts and the first game against Maryland he's having the first good game of his career. Bam tears his ACL.It would be his first good game and one of his last. Three mostly painful years after that. Huge bust for a top 40 recruit. And now the ghost of Levi returns to haunt us.For having some really nice rosters/recruits over the years it's really stunning the lack of success that's followed.
4/13/2013 7:00:12 PM
not that stunning
4/13/2013 8:01:19 PM
What's Jordan Collins up to? Can we get him back?
4/13/2013 11:08:39 PM
Last I heard, JC was in Israel coming off of the bench.
4/14/2013 12:33:10 AM
I'm not sure Levi ever mentally got over the acl. Rarely did you see him aggressively driving after that, but then again you didn't see much of that in the Herb era. Evtimov never relied on athleticism before or after the acl...

Anyone know why we aren't on Uchebo's radar? Are we not pursuing him or is he not interested. He's a 6'11" former top 100 recruit, has 3 years left after a medical redshirt and originally committed to us. Seems like there should be mutual interest.
4/14/2013 9:26:30 AM
Gottfried has decided Sidney Lowe only recruited head cases.
4/14/2013 9:54:44 AM
He's coming off of a pretty bad injury and hasn't seen game time in a while...I believe.
4/14/2013 11:43:18 AM
i don't think wood, howell, brown, davis, painter, horner, smith, thomas, or cj williams were legitimate headcases. and yeah, i don't think uchebo hardely played any this last year at juco due to a bad knee injury.[Edited on April 14, 2013 at 12:13 PM. Reason : ]
4/14/2013 12:13:08 PM
Williams, Horner, and Thomas were all Herb recruitsjust sayin'
4/14/2013 12:27:13 PM
Well, maybe, kinda. Thomas was in class of '07 and Horner stuck with Sid in '06 after Herb left. And CJ Williams was '08, 2 years after Herb left.
4/14/2013 12:56:20 PM
CJ Williams and "headcase" should not be in the same sentence
4/14/2013 12:58:29 PM
True, but you can really never trust an adult in braces.
4/14/2013 1:01:49 PM
while Williams was indeed in the '08 class, he committed to State in '06and had been recruited since '05[Edited on April 14, 2013 at 1:10 PM. Reason : Thomas committed in June of '06, after having been recruited by Herb and staff for 2+ years]
4/14/2013 1:09:19 PM
I hear ya. But they all had the chance to decommit, but instead committed to Sid, so that makes them his recruits as well (particularly Williams). Anyways, sorry for beleaguering the point.
4/14/2013 1:26:48 PM
no need to apologize. this is the perpetual State Basketball Recruiting thread
4/14/2013 1:38:38 PM
I would like to get credit for saying that we were going to sorely miss CJ Williams and that the chances of a freshman SG coming into the ACC, Starting and adequately filling in for him was a slim chance to begin with.
4/14/2013 1:45:01 PM
CJ williams was a bit of a headcase.Guy was really solid as a freshman and a great shooter.Sophomore year he was unplayable and a TERRIBLE shooter.junior year he was meh.Senior year he was pretty damn good. Also, his defense was WILDLY inconsistent. At times he was an elite defender and at other times he was below average. Could never figure that one out. He was great against most people because he was so athletic. But he was a little slow so sometimes quicker, smaller opponents would just blow by him.

It was a large problem. He was a leader and a solid defender. Don't kid yourself.

This thread has been pretty fucking horrible the past 2-3 pages

4/15/2013 12:04:51 PM
he's definitely not as quick (or strong) on the break as Zo
4/15/2013 12:20:57 PM
Agreed, but he's also less likely to turn it over than Zo was.
4/15/2013 12:33:37 PM
So Lennard Freeman visited this weekend, and Davis is supposedly visiting next weekend.Apparently Pitt is also interested in both
4/15/2013 3:03:00 PM
apparently, looking like the Davis thing isn't gonna work out
4/15/2013 3:58:30 PM

Rivals released it's final 2014 rankings. Here's how our recruits stack-up compared to the rest of the ACC (courtesy of PI!!!)
4/16/2013 12:21:41 PM
^They may be side by side in rankings, but Im glad we have Anya instead of Meeks.
4/16/2013 1:14:40 PM
is Meeks the fattest ACC player since Nigel Dixon? God, he's so fat and disgusting
