nah, Davidson was a lock either way

I was wondering
3/8/2009 8:38:09 PM
i'm not so sure...their resume isnt nearly as impressive as you would think.although i'm sure the curry factor may play in.RPI 67SOS 176Only 1 top 50 rpi win, only other top 100 win was us.we'll see
3/8/2009 8:43:24 PM
i don't think davidson is in the tournament
3/8/2009 8:44:03 PM
I'm thinking they could get in.. it is all about the $$$ and Curry is a $$$ machine. We'll find out in a week.

kinda sucks, but i seem to remember calling this last year after jason richards graduated. people underestimated how important he was. curry's stats haven't suffered, but his team has
3/8/2009 9:07:36 PM
did people actually disagree with you to some extent?
3/8/2009 9:08:37 PM
a lot of people saw that coming mang.
3/8/2009 9:11:18 PM
I know I'm way late in saying this, but that "honorary starting" for the UNC seniors or whatever that crap was called was one of the lamest things I've ever seen. If you aren't actually going to play your seniors, don't put them on the court and pretend like they're starting before walking your real starters onto the court.
3/8/2009 9:56:06 PM
^bitter much? Seriously, they're seniors. Give them a break.
3/8/2009 10:05:19 PM
Every other school actually puts their seniors in the game. Roy could've easily put his seniors in for the last 20 seconds of the game, instead he pretended to put them in. It's not being bitter, it's Roy not being willing to put his seniors in to a game because he was afraid of losing.
3/8/2009 10:08:52 PM
so they had seniors go stand on the floor but not actually play?that's dumb.
3/8/2009 10:09:16 PM
Yeah, they ran 5 seniors onto the court, everyone clapped for them and then they put the real starters on for the start of the game.[Edited on March 8, 2009 at 10:14 PM. Reason : typo]
3/8/2009 10:14:08 PM
it's because they have 7-8 seniors this year. Last time I checked, you can only play 5 players in basketball. Copeland started the game, and he's a benchwarmer pretty much his whole career.
3/8/2009 10:19:47 PM
Lawson isn't a senior. I believe he started.
3/8/2009 10:21:20 PM
Roy said after the game that he talked it over with all of the seniors and they agreed that they'd rather beat Duke and lock up the regular season crown than start the game
3/8/2009 10:22:32 PM
Fuck Herb. Not starting Tim Wells? What the fuck?
3/8/2009 10:28:40 PM
3/8/2009 10:41:23 PM
Herb said after that game that he talked it over with Tim Wells and he agreed that he'd rather win and lock up the NIT berth than start the game
3/8/2009 10:41:34 PM
oh my, Zag player got stuffed by the bottom of the rim on a breakaway one hander dunk

Great SoCon final going on right now. Chattanooga was up 20 but Charleston went on a fast 14-0 run to get back in it. Currently down 7 at the under-8 timeout.
3/9/2009 8:38:28 PM
Congrats Siena on your 16 seed
3/9/2009 11:16:21 PM
Siena won't even be CLOSE to a 16 seed. More like a 9 or 10. They are a legit team and one that might very well upset a top team in the second roung... Imagine if they still had McClinton![Edited on March 11, 2009 at 2:33 PM. Reason : x]

I would love for St. Johns to be held to 10pts for the 1st half. That would be all too special considering that's what they did to us back in the day. Of course, they only have 8 points now with 2 and change left. It would be really nice to lose the NCAAs 'lowest point total in a half' record that we currently own.[Edited on March 11, 2009 at 3:29 PM. Reason : 10 points]
3/11/2009 3:24:00 PM
done and done
3/11/2009 3:31:03 PM
lol st john's
3/11/2009 3:32:25 PM
^ yeah, what a freaking joke. i'm off this week and was pretty excited about just kicking back and watching basketball this afternoon - and i got stuck with this atrocity of a game. WHERE'S RON ARTEST!!! and to lou corneseca: the Big East Tournament is NOT the best basketball tournament. Acc represent.
3/11/2009 4:13:09 PM
There is no conference tournament venue quite like MSG. Place is DEAFENING for a Semifinal or Final game with UConn, 'Cuse or St. John's playing... I've been to both and I like the Big East tournament better because of the setting.[Edited on March 11, 2009 at 4:24 PM. Reason : and it's Carnesecca... jeez]
3/11/2009 4:24:20 PM
i agree that msg is a great venue, but no way the big east tourney has the tradition and history that the acc tourney does - this is what lou was saying during an interview. big east tourney is def #2 (i went to a couple of sessions last year and had a great time), but i think lou was being a bit of a homer. either way, st. johns could use him back!![Edited on March 11, 2009 at 4:49 PM. Reason : my bad, carnesecca, whatever...]
3/11/2009 4:48:33 PM
^ did you even read ^^'s post?
3/11/2009 4:51:30 PM
^ yup. he was saying "big east is better due to MSG". i replied "MSG is great, but lou was saying it's the best tournament because of other reasons that i disagree with..." thanks for adding something to this thread simonn. you're a valuable member of this community.

Hansbrough's speech was pretty short, like 90 seconds.ACC Tournament in the Greensboro Coliseum can't be touched.
3/11/2009 5:59:48 PM
3/11/2009 6:02:21 PM
They do it at Duke, Indiana, and a lot of other schools around the country. I think it's a great tradition for a school to have b/c the players get to tell the fans how much playing for and going to the school meant to them over the past 4 years.
3/11/2009 6:05:59 PM
Yeah, reallyHow awesome would it have been to hear guys like Hodge or Atsur or McCauley thank the fansWhat a dumb thing to hate
3/11/2009 6:07:56 PM
I just found this and wanted to post it. Ah good times.
3/11/2009 7:36:55 PM
^That's definitely one of those "I remember where I was" type of moments. Bowen 801C. I remember everyone that was in the room. Suite mate busted his knuckles on the ceiling in celebration. Good times indeed.
3/11/2009 9:20:55 PM
Big East Championship = Pry my eyes outback to back with teams scoring in the teens first halfwhat is it with these rims at MSG.. they are so tight
3/11/2009 9:32:17 PM
yeah the Big East tourney has been a snoozefest so far. Hopefully the Marquette/Villanova game tomorrow will change that
3/11/2009 9:34:34 PM
you want a snooze festturn it to FSN and watch the Oregon St/Stanford gameWOW
3/11/2009 9:36:50 PM
maybe I am biased... but the acc tourney is usually always excitingi think conference expansion has hurt the tourney game quality though ... instead of a quarterfinal round with everyone in it, you get stuck watching 6/11, 7/10, 5/12 games[Edited on March 11, 2009 at 9:40 PM. Reason : ]
3/11/2009 9:39:14 PM
the 7/10 game should be good

What if Syracuse loses to Seton Hall tonight? They are shooting a dismal 3-10 from the FT line in the first half.Make that 4-12.[Edited on March 11, 2009 at 10:14 PM. Reason : ]
