So whats the deal with Larry Raper? Not that we necessarily need him, we look to be pretty stacked at wideout for awhile.
2/4/2009 10:19:33 AM
Premium board said he visited Toledo recently. Not really sure what happened with him.
2/4/2009 10:22:27 AM
why does scout not show check marks by our commits? It does for other schools... should I use another site?
2/4/2009 10:30:55 AM
Raper looks like he might play as a receiving back out of the backfield possibly - or even see time on defense maybe.
2/4/2009 10:47:47 AM
he might end up at like WCU
2/4/2009 10:49:55 AM
One of the students at the school I work at i think signed a LOI to WCU.
2/4/2009 12:31:20 PM
one of my good friends from HS signed with WCU last year.

Adam Beasley spent the 2008 season as a member of the Campbell football program and the 2007 season as a member of the North Carolina State football program ... A three-year varsity football letterwinner at North Raleigh Christian Academy... an all-conference selection as a senior...also played defensive line and was awarded the school’s d-lineman award as a junior...also participated in track where he earned a varsity letter as a junior.

How come Scout says we have 28 LOI when all I've read was about 27 recruits?
2/4/2009 6:00:54 PM
^sam jones didn't play anywhere this year, so he wasn't in the scout database, however he is an LOI.

WHAT WAS THE GIST OF TOB TALK ON PACKMAN? I missed it
2/4/2009 7:06:09 PM
I didn't know Asa Watson was a Jedi. Damn he's gonna be the most awesome tight end we've ever had. He'll come up to the line and convince the player covering him to let him go, then pull out his lightsaber to slice of the DBs arms on his way to the endzone. He'll use a force push on the player he's blocking to open up a hole for the running backs. Also whenever someone is called for a penalty he'll go up to the refs, during their conference to figure out who the player is that got the penalty, and it'll be like:Ref: Let me see your number.Asa: [with a small wave of his hand] You don't need to see his number.Ref: We don't need to see his number.Asa: These aren't the players you're looking for.Ref: These aren't the players we're looking for.Asa: He can go about his business.Refs: You can go about your business.Asa: Move along.Ref: Move along... move along. [head ref turns to the press box] There is no flag on the play. [Edited on February 4, 2009 at 7:33 PM. Reason : ]

"It really came down to Coach [Don] Horton and Coach [Tom] O'Brien and how many offensive linemen they have put in the NFL. I get in the car, I looked to Duran and said, 'It would be stupid not to play for coaches like that.' So we both pulled the trigger. There could be a few guys still out there so why wait. I called Coach [Andy] McCollum and said, 'Coach, I wanted to be part of the Pack.'" -- Camden Wentz

Maybe we should send TOB to visit John Wall and Demarcus Cousins.
2/4/2009 10:32:29 PM
I've got to say that I was never worried about Byrd sticking with the Pack. Brandan Bishop, who lives on the other side of the county talked to him and Bishop said this, "He (Byrd) said we have to put on a Wolfpack show at the Outback Bowl." Plus everything I heard about us still being his number 1 school, and his father liking us made me think there was very little chance that he would go elsewhere.

I wasn't aware our class ranked 10th in the ACC. I thought I read it was something more like 6th or 7th. *shrug*
